  • so, a bit like a KVM switch but missing a HDMI or DP port.

    • Yup, which almost all monitors sort of already have. I used one of these with a Laptop Dock and PC, Dock was connected by hdmi, pc by display port. press the input select on the screen and boop the button on this unit and you have a poor mans KVM

  • Thanks, was looking at this on catch for $55 - scored free post with first app purchase as well. Win win

I would suggest grabbing the USB 2.0 version for $23 instead. Doubt you need USB 3.0 for your mouse and keyboard.

People may want to connect other USB peripherals that would benefit from USB3.0 like portable drives…

Yeah I realise, I figure they're smart enough to disregard my comment.

  • Is this listing basically the same thing, but cheaper?

    • 1 rating vs 200 ratings. I wouldn't mind spending an extra couple of $$. I have a UGREEN hub and its pretty good quality.

FYI: Just remember these are unpowered. So they use pass-through power from a single USB port on your PC(s). A lot of devices (eg LED mice/keyboards) may have issues.

It has a micro-b input for power.

      • I ordered one on the last deal. I have a Razer Blackwidow Chroma and Razer DeathAdder Chroma, and I think these are chewing too much without an external power conencted cause keyboard would disconnect now and then.
Instructions do say you may need external power for mechanical keyboard so be warned.

        • You’re not connecting to a Surface Pro by any chance?

      • Successfully powered a Keychron K6 off the USB 2.0 version. Adding a webcam into the mix was too much and caused the video feed to shutdown. I haven't bothered trying with the power connected to the micro-b port yet, but I assume that would fix it.

        • I have Logitech C922 and a Blue Yeti connected also but those don't disconnect :-/

  • This thing is great. Got one last deal. I use it to share my docking station between 2 laptops.

  • I've got one too. Very useful. Great price.

  • These do a good job, just make sure the USB A to A cables it uses don't go walkabout!

  • Any alternatives with all the sockets on the same side? (So you don't have cables coming out both ways)

  • Good discussion on the last listing:

  • Price increase from last deal?

  • I tried it on USB 2 port I have no problem as some said didn't work with USB 2.0 port.

  • I use one of these for my setup and am really happy with it. I have it powered as well. Wish I had 5 USB ports though… keyboard, mouse, wireless headset and fingerprint reader… doesn't leave me a space for anything else :(

(before anyone asks, I also have USB speakers)

    • Before anyone else asks, do you have a USB hub?

      • Not the same. Trying to minimise number of things on my desk.

    • Plug another USB hub in.
