the $30 cleaning cloth may have helped with the discount ;)

    • The TV does come with a cleaning cloth inside. I bought this TV model from Top Buy at $699 last month.

Could you put up a receipt/link for that? (:

So you bargain with them down to that price?

    What is the $40?

I would suggest you to return the $40 + $30 items and buy it somewhere else.

Like years ago I bought a 46" LCD TV + a $50 HDMI cable (after asking for better price) and I took it back return it for cash because unopened.

  • Yeah, the cleaning cloth rounded it to $800.
The other $40 is a 2nd set of 3d glasses which were RRP for $80. He gave them to me for $40.

However, I'm assuming if you show this receipt they'll match the $770?

    • if those glasses are the battery ones they actually sell for $49.95 they had a price drop quite a while ago.

Anyone charging more is marking up to mark down.

that being said $40 is a good price its just a misleading discount.

      • Mmm, that's pretty dodgy. Onya Samsung for putting a reasonable price on active glasses, but shame on JB for these dicky dealings.

It is on www.topbuy.com.au for $699.95 with Free 3D glasses. Okay you have to wait until January for it, but if you are not in a rush $756.40 delivered vs $810 (with the glasses) almost 7% cheaper. Either way it is still a good TV for that kind of money.

I think they made their money on the cleaning cloth that they probably buy for 50c. As the average online price is around $800. Return the cleaning cloth and it's an OK deal.

    • thats the downfall with JB's , they are required to sell accessories and performance is scrutinized heavily , they will often discount beyond normal prices to throw in an accessory. It also doesnt hurt that they would be paid on profit of the accessories.

DaHurlDog : Umm…I have to return this EuroCloth because my Ozbargain brethren say its a rip.
    JbHifi : WTF!

JBHiFi: We will exchange it for half a gold-plated HDMI cable.

Ive always thought about doing that…bargain down the tv by offering to get ripped off on hdmi and speaker wire and all that other rubbish they try make you buy and then go back a week later and return it all. Does that work?

    • It works

30 bucks for a cleaning cloth! i bought the same TV, and there's a free one in the box…

  • I am waiting until after Christmas, this TV should plummet down as they clear out for new models

    • We should see the E series (eg. PS51E550)enter the market in the near year too.

      • Will that be waiting till CES time around March you think?

In true ozbargain fashion this deal thread has become about the cleaning cloth rather than the tv. And that is why I love this place

    • +1

      hhehehehe, you said 'love' hehehehe

      • +2

You live up to your name.

  • yup - when the price plummets will the free cleaning cloth still be in the box?

or will it have been removed and sold seperately - is it marked not to be sold seperately on the bag? What brand is it? Is it a genuine samsung cloth? Can we have a picture please?

tv is normal price. nothing extraordinary plus forced accessory sale at rip off price
and this deal got 22 positive votes?
find it hard to believe. :/

  • yeah its not a great deal considering we have seen it for $699 already

  • Thanks! Used the scanned receipt to get JB in Chatswood to $770.

Now, just have to tell the wife that I couldn't get a 42 incher…
