  • Hailing leethompson, better get it before it goes OOS.

    • Too late :(

      • Ah damnit, sorry mate. I was trying to figure out how to pm you on the mobile app but gave up ☹️

      • Mate I think you've turned off PM's. Anyway there's a new deal now from Sony, but $6 shipping 😕

        • I never turned them on in the first place and they’re off by default.

  • Is anyone able to check for stock availability? On the page, it says for me

    "Unable to check stock availability

    Please refresh the page"

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out it was an issue with the browser (Brave) I was using. Switched over to Firefox and it worked.

  • Thanks OP got one. Was going to buy from EB but they have no stock and do not know when more will be coming

$50 bucks for a charger aint no bargain.

    • +4

Agreed, however, $49 is bargain territory.

      These things are great!

They're kind of a necessity since Sony still hasn't fixed the poor efficiency of their controllers.
We may never get PS3 level battery life again.

      • +1

Really? I think the new dualsense controllers have excellent battery life. Way better than the PS4 battery by a long shot.

        • 14 hours.
By comparison the PS3 controller was 30 hrs, a single joycon is 20 hrs, XBOX one 30hrs, Switch Pro 40 hrs.

  • Be nice to have a requirement to need a charger, still awaiting console order from EB on 17th of September that is still unfilled.

    • Guessing it was late on 17th and you were 3rd release? I applied that day and got mine last year.

      • Yes I missed the first wave by a few hours, I’m second wave apparently, but getting no where

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Grabbed one.
These things are surprisingly hard to get at the moment.
I just recently cancelled my pre-order from Harvey Norman.
Been checking most retailers instore each day on my lunch break.
EB have said they 'anticipate' stock arriving 'sometime' in February.

why do people want that when you can charge it with literally ANY recent smartphone charger + type C cable?

    • Same question here.

    • +3

Its just purely a convenience/neatness thing. You drop it in and it charges with contact, no dangly cables, easy to pull out as well. Not worth it for everyone ofcourse.

      • +1

I have the ps3 version, makes it easy to charge, no clutter, and because you store spares on the dock you never forget to charge them.

      • +1

Thanks for the explaining. I usually use a power bank when forgot to charge. This can be used to all consoles.

        • Nice hack! I'll remember to use it 👍🍻

I personally don't like plugging and unplugging things in each day, causes wear and tear on the input as well as exposing extra cables that my little ones can grab and tug. This device sits behind my tv and you cannot see it during the day but my controllers are always 100% when I want to play.

Agree with Gmetal1, some people won't/don't need this but I find it super useful especially if you have a second controller

      • This. I'm sick and tired of USB slots getting loose over time. Has happened on all my PS3 and Xbox One controllers.

I went with this (pre-ordered before the PS5 came out) because all the third party chargers plugged into the USB-C, while this one uses the contacts on the bottom of the controller instead.

I do find it a little fiddly to get the controllers sitting in the right spot to charge sometimes though.

    • Precisely for this reason. Having stuff that can charge everything means it's never around when you need it to charge controllers. The chargers and cables have always been stashed away in somebody's room, or car, or left at a friend's house, or shoved into a random drawer, or been yanked too hard and they're flaky, or it's "no you can't plug that in now because my phone / iPad / Switch is charging".

As a result, when one controller runs out, it goes in the too hard basket and the kids just grab the other charged controller. Wait a while, and we've got two flat controllers.

Nobody can use this for anything except charging the PS5 controllers.

    • you never have to worry about charging. when you're finished playing, plop it on the dock.

when you want to play again, its ready for a 12hr gaming session.

Kinda blows my mind there is a shortage of these as well. PS5 i get because of the shortage of AMD chip manufacturing capacity, but this is mostly just plastic and a power supply, wonder what else in their distribution change they have issues with. Controllers seem to be much more available in comparison.

  • Email received, order cancelled apparently no stock
