Be aware if you order this stuff during hot weather it comes in a postal bag without any insulation.
My last order the Dry wors was fine but the 990gm Biltong (avg) was rancid and had condensation in the bag. $70 down the drain -( they did refund my shipping)

  • I need to stop buying jerky :(

  • That is Extremely expensive for Biltong.
    1. Make your own
    2. Buy from a South Afican shop.(Should be around $60-$70 a kg).

    • There normal stuff is around $70/kg, this is wagyu which is probably where the premium is coming from

      • Wagyu is currently same price as normal meat thanks to the import zreeze in China.
Also, Wagyu has different grades and marble score 1-2 is what they most probably will use and it's same price as normal silver side (That's the cut they make biltong from).

why would you want Wagyu jerky? isn't the whole point of jerky to have the leanest beef possible so you don't get that impossible to chew/gets stuck between your teeth - dried fat in your mouth?

    • That wouldn't be dried fat, that would be sinew / connective tissue and isn't related to the fat content, it would be more related to the cut used.

  • How long can it be stored for if it hasn't been opened yet and where should it be stored?
I ordered 250g of wagyu jerky and 250g of wagyu biltong. Really keen to try it and tracking says it's arriving tomorrow! Considering I ordered it yesterday, that's extremely fast dispatch and shipping.

    • Hi!

Because we don't use any preservatives, the biltong can grow mould after some time if stored incorrectly, especially moist biltong.

Our products are labelled with storage instructions designed to prevent mould, with these options:

      • Freeze the biltong (in plastic)
Biltong freezes really well and thaws very quickly.
Some customers separate the biltong into multiple zip-lock bags and freeze it.
      Can last for months

      • Refrigerate (in an open container):
Remove the biltong from its plastic packaging and store it in the fridge in an open (not sealed) container.
Will last several weeks, but will dry out

      • Outside of the fridge: a paper bag is recommended to absorb moisture. Keep in a ventilated area to prevent moisture build-up.
Longevity will depend on moisture in the bag / area.

      I hope this helps :)

Received my stuff yesterday. Gotta say the wagyu stuff is amazing, the flavour in the fat is super rich.

    Watch your sodium levels people.
