Cracking price. Could it be a price error?

    Buy now, worry later.

    • +9

To be honest this is the price it should be in 2020-2022, had the market progressed usually.

In the past decade, we've had supply problems and price-fixing that's really dampened progress. Got to a point where authorities were looking at investigating the matter. The stagnation was akin to the 2011 owners (i7-2600k) looking for an upgrade in 2017 (i7-7700k) until AMD released their Zen architecture.

  • +1

    Damn I missed it.

    • AFAIK with an adapter yes. Was trying to get for a 6,1 too!

    • Yeah I miss the $100 1tb m.2 SSDs every single time. So annoying.

  • thanks op got one hopefully its not pricing error

  • Awesome price thanks a lot man :)

  • I'm in and ordered, thanks Danny N.

  • +4

It will be a pricing error. 500GB costs same https://www.mwave.com.au/product/seagate-barracuda-510-500gb…

  • +2

Almost 100% a price error. The 500GB model is the same price

  • ordered one. thanks OP!

  • Bought one. Thanks Op

  • +1

    Mine says 203$

  • +1

It's price error, back to $203 at checkout

  • SOLD OUT ALREADY?!?

    Damn you guys are quick

    • It is still in stock.

      • Turns out in stock at $203, yeah.

I got an 'Out of Stock' error originally

  • Don't need it but ordered anyway!

  • Well I'm sold… Was really on the fence this morning on the Evo deal, but this, this was too hard to pass up

    • -2

This is only SATA speed mind you - not NVMe

      • Amazing speed with next-level 3D TLC NAND and a PCIe ® Gen3 ×4, NVMe™ 1.3 unlock sequential read/write speeds of up to 3,400/2,180 MB/s

Gee SATA be hittin different these days ;)

        • +2

Hahaha, sorry, I was wrong.. Cracking deal really

          • @bpop99: Haha all good, its unbelievable at this price to not be SATA, here's hoping it's honoured!

  • I have a Dell G5 5500 and it says I can have
    One M.2 2230 solid-state drive and one M.2 2280 solid-state drive

I have one m2 drive in there now, can I work out which one is installed now in windows or BIOS somewhere ? what is the difference between 2230 and 2280 ?

    • +1

It's the physical length of the drive. 20mm x 30mm versus 80mm long.

Technically, as long as you have clearance then you can fit any m.2 drive in. Tape is your friend

  • 203 in cart?

  • +1

    Got 2, thanks OP.

  • +1

Cart changed to $200 after trying to pay

  • +1

Price error for sure… But still ordered 2. How likely would Mwave to cancel the order?

    • Very likely.

  • bought one but expecting it to be cancelled. Who knows, I've had some I thought would get cancelled come through in the past

  • +1

It's back to 200 for me in cart

  • +1

Deal is expired. Checkout shows as $203, and no stock.

  • Getting 503 server errors when checking out :D OzBargained!

    Edit: Now showing as $203.

  • Looks like OOS now

  • Thanks OP, was tossing up between the WD SN550 and Kingston A2000 but this is cheaper!
Now the wait to see if successful LOL

  • omg I WAS 10 SECONDS LATE🙂

    • +3

No FOMO, these orders will be cancelled due to a pricing error

      • Yeah, I was curious about what happens next

  • Very good price.

  • Got an email saying We have verified your Order and started processing it.

Does it mean they will honor it ?

    • +6

nothing is 100% until its at your house.

  • +1

time to time mwave does some very crazy deals. I got rgb gskill neo 3600 gz 2X8GB for only $110.

  • +2

It does say on the page "Online Only. Ends 28/02/2021 or While Promotional Stock Lasts" so maybe they had a couple at the promo price :) Optimism

  • +4

Missed it, had one in basket. Too busy reading reviews to see if it was a good deal…

    • +1

In the same boat! Missed out

  • +3

Are you (profanity) serious, I saw this as soon as it was posted and thought it was a HDD so I ignored it. bs

    • I origionally thought SATA speeds, then read NVMe… Went straight through to checkout so fast haha

  • Doh! Missed out again…

  • Wow

  • Next best thing for nvme? I read samsung evo plus is good?

  • +7

Just spoke to someone on live chat and apparently, it was on clearance

    • +1

so this is not a price error? good news

      • +1

        Yup

    • +1

Now that sucks even more that I missed out again. Lol

    • +1

So it was on clearance for $100, then they made it out of stock for a few minutes. Then it was put up to $203. That's not a clearance

  • +1

Does anyone have a screenshot of the checkout page showing $99?

  • Would this work on a motherboard with PCI express or is incompatible? Thanks

    • You would need a PCIE adapter

  • Damn , late again :(

  • Is there a way to turn on notifications for OzBargain?

    • There is, but there is a delay between when its posted vs when the notification is sent to your email. So, deals like this is pretty much gone by the time you see the email. Happened to me so many times. :(

      • So true. Basically it's better to use the notification tool for something that will not sell out in a few mins but which you're still chasing after.

    • +1

Is there a way to turn on notifications for OzBargain?

Sure. Subscribe and press the bell icon to be notified as soon as we post anything. It also helps us out a lot.

      • Can also do a search and filter out forum posts with 'type:ozbdeal' and then hit the 'create alert' button. That way you can be alerted to specific products.

  • NOOO I was late :(

  • -4

Even if it's a price error, they have to honour it though, right? Otherwise it would be like false advertising. I feel like whoever was lucky to order one at $99 will probably get it.

    • No, they can refund.

    • +4

Price error is not false advertising, they have the right to refund the order.

    • Having to honour a price error makes no sense.
That would put so many companies out or business from a single price error if it were a big enough one

    • +1

Oh, man sorry I didn't know. I was just posting my thoughts. The negative votes feel bad :(

  • Poooo missed it.

  • +2

Well I just got the newsletter email from Mwave, bit late though ! and it has listed deal for "Up to 50% Off Seagate Drives".
Small print - Up To 50% Off On Selected Seagate SSDs. While Stocks Lasts. Ends 28/02/2021 or While Promotional Stock Lasts.

Link to Seagate drives in the deal https://www.mwave.com.au/searchresult?button=go&w=STXSSDCL&a…

    • Well that's interesting, they have the 500GB variant priced at $99 so it seems likely this deal is an error. Good luck to everyone who managed to order.

      • Nah, the 1TB discount price drive allocation is sold out so has reverted back to usual price for remaining stock.

  • wow… 70 more upvotes after the deal has expired

  • +1

damn, too late to the party

    • Didn't even get invited to the party.

      • +1

Didn't even get to know about the party :(

  • -6

I bought one in store this morning.

    Already paid and installed !

Sorry, I was so busy at work today that I forgot to post it.

  • -1

If anyone reads this - keep en eye out on the clearance page. I found an open box one for $99. Some may pop up again every now and then

    • -1

      Back in stock again

      • comes up at $203

        • -1

edit: I could be wrong - I only see the 500GB one now

  • my laptop has a M2 SATA SSD port (B&M key). Can anyone tell me if I can put in a M2 NVMe SSD? Doesn't matter if the SSD is on SATA speed. M2 NVMe is way cheaper than M2 SATA for what I can find

    • check your manual

  • +1

Just received a text msg saying my order is ready to be picked up

    • They've started processing mine. I'm a tad worried they'll slip in a 500gb version.

  • +1

    hi guys,

bought it and its ready for collection but don't really need it. Anyone in Sydney who wants it can have it but with the following condition it has to be picked up from mwave with my authorization(form has been sent on the pickup email and will be faxed/emailed directly to mwave) and i will have to get the money on my account before i do the authorization to pick it up. I will not be posting it sorry as one of the reason is no time at the moment to go and pickup. cost price.

    Please DM me

    regards

    Pawan

    • Interested; PM'd.
