    • And that one became Prime Minister of Australia for some time too.

What a time to be alive.

Yes, he is also known as TurnCOST — he has cost AU a shit tonne more money with just the NBN alone; add to the failed blowout costs of Snowy 2.0 and he was a total disaster for AU. Of course there are more issues and problems under his "leadership" that were rather woeful, but the two issues above are very significant.

  • i can get as many quotes as i want right ?

"Almost one Australian every minute is asking NBN Co for a fibre internet upgrade, but soon some will get it for free"

  • Id rather the money be have more 5g towers. NBN still charge $300 for new build connections.

With enough 5g towers, I believe you can eliminate their distance issues.

    • did you not read the title of this Bargain ?

      • @mikezillakind - They still charge a connection fee.

As solar and now this NBN farce shows, Australians now pay for their own infrastructure in order for the private sector to rip them off on it.

And they still insist that this is better than the government paying for the infrastructure and then not ripping them off on it.

This is what has happened in reality but most Australians live in a dreamlike state where the failed predictions of an economic theory supersede reality.

  • the quote for me is HFC —> FTTP : $14749 inc GST; ridiculous expensive. Should I wait for Opticomm or TPG come to my area (probably never?)
I am in a suburb of Sydney, independent house.

    • NBN is your only option. HFC speeds are being upgraded, refer to my previous comment here

    • Looking like mid year or to the end of the year if it gets implemented.

  • Has anyone attempted procuring a 2nd FttP using the upgrade schemes? As I know there's a hard limit of 1.3gbps on the fibre that's used to run the lead-in, which means we won't ever see plans exceeding 1Gb… But if you could get a 2nd fibre run, it would open multi-gig possibilities with load balancing

    • What are you doing that requires more than 1Gbps?

The only benefit I would see is the extra upload…….
