Would be interested in the speeds.
But won't be picking up until next week & only use a mobile.

        • no worries. thanks anyway.

We used some of these for imaging at work (16gb variant) and they were surprisingly slow for USB 3.

Ironically the other generic option the local Woolworths had (a lexar) was faster for write.

          • @ozturtle: It does seem like an older device.
Promotional material for the 32GB version boasts The sticks deliver new levels of read and write speed making it possible to transfer 25GB of video content in only five minutes.

That's makes its top write speed around 83MB/s.

Hopefully someone will post a speed test (before I pick mine up & possibly cancel order).

    What?

BigW site gives those as neatest locations with stock to Darwin! So no stock in NT.

Those are some of the other Qld locations, along with Gladstone

      • +2

Yes - but thank you OP for the effort nonetheless, much appreciated :-)

haha sorry guys, i have no idea of any suburbs outside perth and sydney

  • Bought 1 at Carindale Brisbane - now no stock. So likely to be low levels of stock.

Hang on, why does it say $69 for me? Has the sale ended? :(

    • +1

Maybe instore it scans at the sale price?

      • +1

Oh interesting… I'd probably want to call up BigW before taking any chances tho :)

UPDATE: I just changed store location and it showed the $20 price

I was purchasing this for my dad, but it turned out he prefers the Sandisk version posted in this thread haha

        • Was going to suggest refreshing as showed $69 last night at store with stock, but $20 after refresh.

          • @INFIDEL: Oh alright. That wouldn't have been the case anyway as I only just opened the page and didn't have it open for very long

  • Thanks for this! Still some in Tuggeranong ACT.

So many reviews on slow write speeds

    • +1

I owned a 256GB model of this and its a bad drive. Basically it writes or reads good for about 10 seconds until the drive gets really hot and throttles down to a snails pace in kb/s. Good for transferring small files such as documents and such. If your thinking of putting movies or video games. Don't bother your better off getting another drive and doing it. I tried transferring a few games overnight and it was still transferring when I woke up.

      • Thanks, Iā€™m just going to use it to store photos. šŸ‘

  • Thanks op got 4 from tugg act

  • +1

Might be worth an instore check. Karingal listed as none available but was three or four in there (got one myself).

  • Thanks OP just got 2 from Gladstone.

  • +2

Do not bother! I bought two, and the speed is not passing 11 MB/S and the average is 8.40/s …. I don't know if it is my unit or it is faulty or something, but USB 3.0 Should be a minimum of 24/s, not 11!

    • Wow that's shocking - do you have another device you can test them in or is that all we can expect from these?

      • +1

I have anoth two ADATA USB 3.0… Both are giving me minimum 24/s speed… I am really tired of faulty product that companies put as a discount or clearance !!! šŸ˜«šŸ˜¤

    • Thanks. Likely reason these (old - I guess) devices were being cleared.
Now to consider cancelling order. Easy as it hasn't left the store.

    • yeah, much worse than i expected.
Mine was 88/8 when formatted as fat32
      then 88/12 formatted as exfat.
      So slow.

      • Thanks. Lucky I haven't picked mine up - will cancel order.
