Does anyone know how to perform a quick switch between devices wearing these? Each time they connect to the most recent device; to change device, I need to go to BT settings on my iphone or in macos. That's easier in macos, buy somewhat a pain on an iphone (and ipad, I assume) to tap through menus.
I got impression there's some glorious, Apple's own way to easily switch between devices. If not, how do airpods differ from other BT sound devices, connectivity-wise?
I have iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad 7th Gen. they automatically switch between devices (need to update to the latest iOS). So if I listen to music on my iPhone and then open my iPad and want to listen to podcast etc, the airpod automatically switch to my iPad.
Does anyone have the experience of switching between iPhone 12 and a Microsoft Surface device?
I won’t automatically switch between non-iOS devices. It uses your Apple ID to do the switching
Make sure all your iOS devices are under same Apple ID. Connect AirPods with all of them manually for the first time. After that if you are listening on one device, and if you open another iOS device while listening to current one, another device will be connected automatically. So just pause the current device playback and press play on the another device. Should work. Hope I haven’t confused you too much.
Thanks @TheMatrix & @fossilgem. I wanted to be able to switch between a mobile call on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and a teams meeting on my Surface. I have to jump between these 2 devices frequently while working from home and its doing my head in!
Won’t switch automatically with your Surface, all devices need to run iOS with you Apple ID log in in all those devices
Is it worth holding out on these for the inevitable price drop when the 2nd gen releases?
If you don't need it or really want it in the next 3-24 months, then yes, it's worth waiting 🤷🏼♀️
