Good price if you have Prime. Not too sure how different this is compared to the popular "backup plus", my guess it's to do with bundled software (backup maybe?)

Was $133.89 not long ago. I bought 2. This drive comes in OEM packaging.

    • Yeah def doesn't compare to a black friday sale. I see you made a comment about cracking it open? To confirm its a standard 2.5" Sata drive?

      • Yup.

The drive is a Seagate Barracuda 2.5” ST5000LM000.

  • Anyone know if these are shuckable? Seems cheaper then paying $289 for the equivalent Seagate 5tb 2.5 drive from Umart.

They are, as stated above the drive is a Seagate Barracuda 2.5” ST5000LM000, which is SMR.
AFAIK all Seagate 2.5" Drives are shuckable.

  • Bought the red 5tb model from similar deal 12 months ago, just had to do a warranty call as is now showing it needs to be initialized after not detecting on a Sony Android tv. Maybe just bad luck but worth a heads up.

    • Had one develop a stuck head. Still a small sample size, but still, I wouldn't trust them.

  • Anyone else notice that the 5Tb option shows as "Seagate Portable 1TB External Hard Drive HDD 5TB" in the title?

Hmm is it wishful thinking to still hold out for a deal like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574441? 4TB for $89 @ $22/TB..
