how do you use this for a recharge? instead of a new prepaid service?

    • I think some people have called their call centre and politely asked for that money to be recharged into their accounts. But YMMV.

      • I did, albeit the old 80GB one. They were not impressed because it was a starter kit, not a recharge kit.

      • +1

I did last month. i was able to roll over unused data, they promised to rolll ever unused international call (selected countries) however they were not able to and credited $50 instead. Basically i paid only $100 for the $200 plan.

      • as in purchase the starter kit then call up? or just ask straight up?

        • +4

I first double checked with them via online chat , then bought sim . Once sim arrived ,did online chat and they sorted out

          • +1

            @NPB: thank you!

            • +1

@Dealr: If you cannot do this . Order a free sim from Optus , transfer the number to them via online chat ( won’t let you transfer on your own if you don’t put on credit) then transfer back to boost .

When does this need to be activated by?

Edit: saw on the site it needs to be by 1st March

    • isnt that just for the bonus data?…but then again 30GB of data is sh*t

  • Bummer, I just paid $160 2 hours ago :-(

Also, please note that some countries have been removed from the unlimited minutes list, so make sure you check the updated list on their website!

wow, what a waste of $1.25. You need to improve your ozbargain skills :)

      • +2

I know, it's the second time this week! one more time and I might have to hand over my OzB license xD

  • +5

I bought the 120 gig version around this time last year but because of covid and rarely taking the train I only ended up using 14 gig.

I need a good arsebooster for my back pocket

    • +1

Isn't ARSEBOOSTER what it's called when you opt to get your second vaccine shot injected into your butt cheek rather than your arm?! :)

  • +1

would this be compatible with apple watch cellular?

    • Don't believe so

    • I'd like to know this as well. From what I've found online Boost doesn't do esim.

    • +3

No. Only Optus, Telstra and Vodafone provide eSIM. None of the MVNOs offer eSIM.

      • +1

Definitely 5G will be offered anytime soon.

  • Can someone explain to me how this gives you extra data on recharge? Why would you recharge when it is a starter pack for 12 months included?

  • Thanks TA, just ordered 1 for the elders

    • +2

The elders of the internet? You know the elders of the internet??

  • Delivery is free anywhere in Australia, but please consider using express postage at an additional cost if you require the SIM urgently.

Would the free shipping get it to Sydney by next Thursday?

    • +2

i just hope any shipping gets delivered before 1 March 2021. Express post that you get at the Aussie Post usually takes 3-4 business day from my experience at work.

      • Thanks. I might just go to Belong for a month using this deal then switch back to Boost.

  • +1

I've been to busy refreshing the Uber Eats page when I tab over to OzB (lol), but was actually looking to purchase this and seems a reasonable price. Thanks TA!

  • Can you port from boost to another aim for a day then back to this?

  • +2

    Officeworks pricebeat Auditech @ $152

    • How is this even possible, i called OW 1300 number they say they don’t match any voucher code, discount code and GCs unless its full price they offer,

They didn’t match my auditech $240 (300 boost starter kit).

  • when you recharge do you get 118gb or 30gb? also ETA on delivery date to melb?

  • When is activation expire, can we activate end of the year?

  • +1

*Bonus data on $200 recharge: 88GB Bonus data applicable to $200 recharge and SIM. For new Boost Mobile Prepaid customers only, who activate from 2 February to 1 March 2021. First recharge by 1 March 2021.
I didn't get, what it mean by First Recharge. Can someone please explain ?

  • Friend got me the coles mobile deal $150 plan for $120 dont seem to be giving up that one, but sure do miss the Telstra's google assistant calling service

    • +1

What is the Google Assistant calling service?

      • +1

Go to Google home app> assistant settings> Services> Voice & Video Calls > Call provider> (under operators add your telstra network phone number) by clicking plus.

And then whenever you say google "hey google call …." google will call that person as if you were calling them from your sim or in other words the other person will receive the call that you made from your telstra network number as caller id.

And you can end call by telling google to hey google stop or hey google end

  • I am on optus postpaid plan. can I port to this? If yes, whats the procedure? Also is the bonus data spread over the entire year or just limited to the first month or something like that? Thanks.

  • For those who don't care about international calling (like me), isn't Catchconnect plan a better option?

    365 Day Plan - 120GB + Unlimited Talk & Text $120 (Was $150) - New Customers Only @ Catch Connect

    • I think Catch uses the Optus network and Boost uses Telstra. Probably better to get the Boost kit if you travel to places with limited coverage by Optus.

  • Hi TA,

Can this be used to port Telstra number?

I know for Telstra porting, usually Boost uses Blank sim

    Thanks
    Veer

    • +1

You can port with this sim, but has to be done manually by Boost via chat, I did it last w/e. Not a fast process but works.

      • Thank you Soob, How long it took?

  • Can someone explain how the Boost
    118GB data (30GB + 88GB bonus) works?

Looks like the 'recharge' has to be done by 1 Mar, but isn't this a new prepaid connection?

To use did one just activate the prepaid SIM and that's it, or are there steps later that need to be done to activate bonus data?

    • +1

they call the using $200 as a recharge. so good to go.

  • Need a deal to on a recharge. I don’t trust porting my number over anymore after they stuffed it up. I had to go a week without a phone and calls to their customer service everyday who couldn’t explain what’s happened

  • I hear that you can access Telstra air from boost. Anyone with experience?

  • Thanks TA,. someone was actually asking for $150 Boost kits which doesn't exist. This is even better!

  • Anyone know what the delivery time is?

  • It's weird that they state data is 30gb + 88gb bonus, when their $150 recharge gives you 80gb.
Don't think I can be bothered with porting in and out. Will just go with $150 recharge since 80gb is sufficient for me.

  • I have about 70GB left from last year’s plan which is expiring on 24/2. If I buy this and negotiate with Boost Rep, will they help me using it as a recharge, have data rolled over and also have bonus data from this deal?

Has anyone tried this yet and how did you go if you did?

  • Has anyone ported into Boost recently? My number has been stuck in limbo for almost two days

    • Just don't expect much customer service. That was my experience.

    • Ported last night around 10pm, got the port complete at 10am this morning. Optus MVNO.

  • Can this be used with Telstra's $5 basic a month Kayo offer ?

  • Thanks, ordered one.
Had a phone conversation with a rep and he advised that we can port number from other service providers.
Shipping is 12-14 days unless you pay $10 for express delivery which takes up to 72 hours.

    • 12 to 14 days gets you dangerously close to that 1 March deadline

  • +1

I just price matched over the phone with Officeworks to get it for $152 ($12.67 / month)
    I used this site: https://deamazingonline.com/collections/monthly-special/prod…
They have it up for $160 without requiring a discount code!

  • I called cellmate and they said this is not for recharge. Is that the case as I may need to cancel it?

    • Definitely not for recharge. Last year I had considerable difficulty getting Boost to recharge my soon to expire plan with the starter kit I bought from BigW. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

  • Hi all

Please excuse my ignorance. I am new on this forum. I am looking for a new plan for my mobile. This seems to be what I am looking for. Could someone please help with the following:

    1. Cellmate a legit company? I thought we had to purchase from boost.com.au or one of their retailer listed on their website.
    2. With the $200 (discount price $158) will I get the 118G for 365 day usage? I am confused with the recharge and starter kit terminology. We always had a post paid so I not sure what needed to be done.
    3. Do I have to buy a sim or is this "starter kit" includes the sim card. If so, do I just port my number as instructed on the boost website.

Many thanks in advance. Please excuse my ignorance and confusion. :)

    • I have purchased from them and got the items delivered. If you find the answer for the next 2 questions please let me know. Thanks. I too am interested in buying this kit.

    • Called Boost, you can port to boost from other providers, my case optus. If you are already on telstra, check out thier faq as I am not sure. 118GB valid for a year. Starter kit includes a sim. I ordered one myself. Hope this helps.

  • Has anyone received their SIM yet? To get the 88GB bonus you need to recharge by March. I'm in Sydney

    • havent received mine as well. Apparently there are shipment delays from WA. Hoping to get it before 1-mar

      • +1

        I've received mine now

        • +1

Did you get any notification that it was turning up?

        • nice.. when did you place your order? mine still says "In transit to next facility in SYDNEY WEST NSW".. hasn't moved since 15-feb
