  • Can multiple be bought and stacked on an account, or can only 1 be applied at a time?

    • Multiple codes can be bought and stacked.

Cheers OP for linking previous threads. Safe to say that if you don't have an AUS account with a lot of games already and starting anew, US PSN is the way to go.

    • Noob here. Do you lose your username and have to start from scratch?

      • Yeah i dont think you can move your account to a different country. Happy to be proved wrong.

Generally there are no negatives about having a us account other then you show in some games as being in the US. The only other negative is that sometimes if you buy a game here with DLC you can't use that if you play with your US account.

So for example i only play with my US account. I have a AUS account to redeem DLC. Some DLC come as downloads and you can use that on your US account but some DLC are tied to the game and can only be used with the account you redeemed it with (so AUS when I buy the game locally). I remember this happened with Star Wars Battlefront 2 when I bought the Deluxe edition and the DLC wasn't there when I played it on my US account, but then I started the game with my AUS account and it was there.

I hope that made sense but worth mentioning as that's the only frustrating thing with using a US account as your primary account for playing.

  • Can it be used on Australian account?

    • Nope - only US accounts.

  • Why Australia hardy got Ps plus discount… 😔

Really loving these price cuts on the US accounts. Now loaded up until November 2026.

you can take your account with you when you go home then

  • Is there cheap PS Now subs card?

  • Awesome! Thanks!

  • What is required to create a US Playstation account, does one need a US address? We continually see discounts on the US PS Plus but I am getting sick of the lack of discounts for the AU one….

EDIT: Yep, it appears a US address is required. I love the creativity of these guys (https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018/12/guide_how_to_create_…).

  • For some reason it's not working for me when i do payment through Paypal. This is the error email i get.

We regret that we are unable to process your order. We are not able to tell you specifically why the order failed, but it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

We are unable to confirm your payment
The code you are purchasing is region-restricted
A technical error occurred while completing the transaction

  • On the link https://www.cdkeys.com/playstation-network-psn/playstation-p… it has a Warning message saying that

"Warning: 1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership (PS+) - PS3/PS4/PS5 Digital Code (USA) cannot be activated in Australia. If you still want to purchase, click "Buy Now".

Did anyone see this / able to activate in AU anyway? Or is this warning based on what the PS4 account region is and not where you are actually located?

    Appreciated

    • If you have a US account, it will activate here.

  • Merged from US PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership Digital Code (US Region) A$35.99 @ CD Keys

Cheapest it's been at CDKeys as far as I can tell.

"Warning: 1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership (PS+) - PS3/PS4/PS5 Digital Code (USA) cannot be activated in Australia. If you still want to purchase, click "Buy Now"."

Despite the above, you can activate in Australia as long as you have a US PSN account.

You cannot activate/redeem on an AU PSN account.

Since someone always asks, no this does not work on AU accounts.

Yes you can have a US account on AU PlayStations.

      • Yup I've had one for 8 years.

        • Do you need to set a VPN to the states to make a US account?

          • @Nicko99: Nope.

            • @interfreak: How exactly do you create a US account? Just set your city to somewhere in the states?

              • @Nicko99: Where do you set the city, during PSN account setup?

What happens when you have already setup in oz?? can it be reversed?

                • @[Deactivated]: Read the post above from mansunz. Seems to answer those questions. Seems like you can switch back to your AUS account and play online through there, thus gaining the best of both worlds

    • Nice, thanks OP.

Still can't believe it's almost half the price of buying an AU sub, which almost never goes on special.

      • Probs goes on sale around twice a year, EoFY and then Black Friday. But never as good as $35 AUS

        • Yeah it does, full price is $80(!!!!!), but even when it goes on special it's like $60, so still (almost) double the price of this.

    • Are digital games cheaper than the AU PS+?

      • Yes.

        • Nice. So there is an ongoing benefit apart from the cheaper outlay. Hmmmm I might be tempted now.

      • Japanese Games are stupidly priced in AU.

Persona Dancing Collection in Aus: $170AUD
Same bundle on the US Store: ~$70AUD converted

That's the most extreme example I've seen, but the similar trend follows most things from Japanese studios.
Other than that the US store just in general tends to have more frequent or better deals.

      • Can be cheaper, but it's a bit of a pain to purchase games from the US PSN Store. From personal experience you can't use AU credit cards or PayPal so you will need to purchase PSN gift cards (from amazon or cdkeys, etc) to purchase games. Then you end up with unspent credit in your PSN wallet…

        • +1

you can create a US paypal account and it will work with your AU CC.

          • @lostn: Yup, that's my set up and it works fine.

            • @interfreak: How did you create a US Paypal account? It requires US mobile number.

      • it depends on the exchange rate. Right now, yes.

    • Just wondering how long before I have to redeem it?

I've got 8 months on my Au account, so this might be great to stock for for the next three years.

      • Good question!

    • Don't forget cashrewards or shopback for an additional 1.5% cashback for existing or 3.5% cashback for new customers.

    • Unfortunately my account is at HongKong Region and have no idea where to get discount code etc. Although it’s already cheaper than Aus

    • maybe we should just do away with australian psn and ask to become a US state, but of course they wouldn't be able to gouge so much then…

    • Do they still have the bonus 3 months?

    • Thanks OP, great deal!

    • I like cheese

    • +1

No this doesn’t work for AU accounts.

Yes you can use a US account on AU console.

      • And play the games through the AU account once downloaded.

    • I initially added this ps plus in on the 24th of January 2021 but then added another year 2 weeks later but my subscription expiry has the same date and month i.e 24th January 2023. Can anyone tell me why the date and month is not updated to reflect the day the top up was made?

      • Why would it? When you added another year it added ~365 days to your subscription. If your end date was updated to the 7th of Feb that would mean you are getting 379 days.

        • so that means it only added 351 days to my subscription when the card is 12 month or 365 days..so what happens if i topped up 6 month into my 1 year sub?

          • @designate: Were both US PS Plus or was one AUS PS Plus?

            • @Nicko99: it's just US PS Plus

              • +1

@designate: Ok but Aureus is right. Here's why:

First year purchased on 24th Jan 2021

                Year 1 subscription begins 24th Jan 2021 expires 23rd/24th Jan 2022

Second year purchased 2 weeks later in 2021 and stacked, but doesn't become active until 24th of Jan 2022. Expiry 24th Jan 2023 as per what you said.

You are getting two full years of PS Plus as to be expected

  • can i buy this and put on my ps4. then use my original account to play online?
