Sensibo Sky Smart Air Conditioner Controller $69 (RRP $149) Delivered (Origin Spike Customers Only) @ Origin Energy

1030

Great price on a really handy home automation device.

Only catch is you'll need to be an origin energy customer with their new "spike" feature enabled to view and purchase. Limits the deal a bit but hopefully there should be enough origin customers around for it to still be worthwhile posting.

Have 2 of these from a previous deal and can highly recommend!

I just did 3 orders for people, just put their address and details during check out

      • Are you able to order 2 more for me, if possible?

        • Hmm I have done like 7 already, if something happens like they don't have stock and I have to refund everyone it's going to be a nightmare

  • Would anyone in Perth mind ordering 2 for me, please? TIA

Damnit!!! I just got one from Officeworks last weekend for $128.

Edit: Well looks like I’ll make use of their 30 day return policy. Hopefully Victorian stores open back up soon. Just ordered one from Spikey

OzB - protecting your purchase prices since 2009. Well done!

      • It has been my saviour on more than one occasion.

  • Excuse my ignorance on this, but how does Origin confirm that the AC is actually being powered off/on? I'd imagine most IR controllers are one-way, and hence the AC isn't reporting back to the remote control that it has been powered off/on .. so what then would prevent you from pointing it in to thin air (and not towards the AC) and still get the rewards points without actually having the AC powered off. I assume they determine from the sudden change in power consumption at your premises?

    • I don't know if there is anything Origin receives as data from this device, but can't confirm. I do know the IR in this is two way, as you train it by pointing your existing remote at the Sensibo.

Others may confirm specifics on the origin side?

We installed peaksmart devices when the AC was being installed which our energy provider can read from, and got $100 cashback for each one. I think it's part of a government rebate so may vary state to state.

    • The whole point is to use less power, not to have a particular device on or off. They care about reducing the power use, that's all.

  • Anyone in Sydney who can order 3 for me please?

    • Hopefully Sensibo realise that there would be increased demand for their product if they priced it more appropriately for the tech. If you're only purchasing one unit, you can stomach the price point, but if you need multiple, it's just not value for money - particularly when you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to unlock all of their platform features.

I'll grab three more if they price them sensibly.
