    Yeah anything under 200 is a good price for these. If anyone's wondering these are closed back compared to the 880 and 990 (semi open and open) and are more bass-heavy.

      While these do have a decently tight bass, I wouldn't call them bass-heavy.
      If anything they are known for being on the bright end and can be fatiguing if you are sensitive to treble.
      Still a good price for a nice set of cans that will last decades if cared for properly.

          Sound, or measure flat? A lot of pro headphones measure less flat than you may think, just take a look at crinacle's or oratory1990's measurements.

      Pro reviews suggest maybe not. (No experience myself.) They're best for studio use, or with a headphone amp or sound card.

      I just tested my pair on my phone and Spotify. I needed to turn the volume up to about 75-80% to be at a comfortable level but does work fine without an amp.

      I've got the 250ohm versions, had them for almost a month and I can only compare them to the old ATH-A900Xs that I had but I'd say the noise isolation is pretty damn good, probably on similar levels but I say that without using them in a loud/populated area.

    I have these. They've lasted 5+ years so far, are comfortable, and the sound quality is good for closed headphones.

    Must resist, I am keen on these but recently got the Mass Drop 6xx and I am pretty happy with those but these 770s could be good to take to work.

      Just be weary, they have a pretty different sound signature - they HD6XX is quite neutral, the Beyers are v-shaped, quite a bit more aggressive in both the bass and the treble.

    Fantastic headphones. My pair lasted for close to six years before a pet dog treated them as a chew-toy.

    I replaced them with the DT 1990 Pro about two years ago. They're another step-up in terms of build quality, sound stage and comfort (particularly on the sibilance front).

    DT 990 open backed 250 ohms also on sale from Amazon UK at $186 - great bang for buck if you aren’t afraid of the treble spikes and can use open backed, usually retails for $239 locally.

      The higher the ohms, the higher resistance it has. This basically just means it requires more power to run. You can use these headphones with a phone jack as a reference point, however the 250 ohm variant you would want to look into using an amp (which provides more power).

    Good quality, great sound, made in Germany. Got the 250 Ohm version, works fine on a laptop, no amp needed unless you want ear splitting volume.

    Compared to the Airpods Max this is an absolute bargain.

      Just to clarify, the amp is needed not too achieve more volume but to improve sound quality (significantly in this case IMO).

    Owned a set for several years and love them.
    There is some leak as there is a small breather port on them so at higher volumes others can hear stuff (quiet offices or rooms), aside from that they're brilliant.
    Money well spent!

    Really good headphones for the price, a lot of studios and artists use these so it should tell you something. I dont think its bass heavy though so if that's so something you need it might be a deal breaker for you.

    Quick side track question.

    Are there any wireless cans that offer the same volume as 600ohms resistance ? I’ve got a xonare essence dac/pre amp and it crystal clear even at max. It’s so loud it can be head from the next room clearly. Looking for same with wireless but can’t see how it’ll be positive. 124 or above.
