Opps sorry half asleep missed it.

  • THANKS OP!
I was literally looking at this a couple hours ago after my Samsung batt. pack drowned in an eski of cold beer.

    didn't wanna pay shipping tho.
    $29 delivered. you're d bomb!

  • Would these be suitable for a Poco f2 pro that has a 32w AC charger?

    • I have the Poco F2 Pro, I used a 30w USB PD charger along with a 65w car charger - it does say that its fast charging, however its still a lot slower to charge compared to the original charger.
I would assume this would be the same case with this power bank however I bought it anyway because I had to use my $20 Kogan credit which expires in March….

      • Ok thanks do much for the reply. I might leave it. Let me know how it performs if you can.

    • +1

It works with my Poco X3 at 27W which has a 33W wall charger. Check your phone's input voltages and the qb822s output voltages.

  • +3

Is the main difference between Redmi and ZMI is just wattage output difference?

    • The Redmi type c port is input only.

    • want to know as well. zmi has display, but what else?

      • +4

The ZMI Aura is the better deal as it has 27w type c pd output whereas the Redmi is type c input only but its the cheapest 20000 mah powerbank.

      • based on techno2000 reply, I searched the image and found this for ZMI Aura
        https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1800/9053/products/QB822-0…
and this one is for Redmi
        https://xiaomi-store.cz/6045-large_default/xiaomi-redmi-powe…
description for redmi is: Xiaomi Redmi Power Bank 20000mAh 18W white - huge capacity, possibility to charge up to two devices simultaneously, fast charging up to 18W in both directions, microUSB and USB Type-C inputs.

        • I accidentally touched the ports with water for about 1 second with the redmi and the mosfet inside cucked itself

Rip my powerbank of 1 month

  • Thanks for the Post, I was also after another Xiaomi Portable Power Bank after my really old Xiaomi just recently finally gave up after many years of use.

  • kogan or romos ?
    which is better ?

    • +3

Its actually Xiaomi vs Romoss and xiaomi is better.

    • why talking about kogan ? omg ofcourse romos. but xiaomi or angker or zmi is better than romos (slightly)
      run away from kogan

      • Romoss has mediocre build that even Kogan branded PD power bank are better. I have 2 Kogan 18W PD, 1 Romoss, 2 ZMI/Xiaomi Pro, 1 Blitzwolf and the Romoss has the worst quality build.

        • +1

powerbank, inside is more important than built.

          • @CyberMurning: I bought my first Romoss few months back and was disappointed. No more Romoss for me.

          • @CyberMurning: And that's even worse in Romoss case as they use pouch I heard. The other power bank use proper 18650 battery.

  • Now the dilemma of which to choose…

  • Thank you OP, I've never heard of this brand, anyone know if it's reliable?

    • +1

xiami is reputable brand, has many electrical products from air purifier, vacuum, phone, electric scooter etc
      they have au website here:
      https://www.mi-store.com.au/

  • Hopefully ROMOSS discounts their stuff on amazon again from the previous deal I wouldn't mind trying out the ROMOSS 18W 30000mAh Power Bank or the ROMOSS 20000mAh 50W PD 3.0 also. The only reason I didn't get the ROMOSS 18W 30000mAh or the ROMOSS 20000mAh 50W PD 3.0 Power Bank earlier because I was impressed by my original Xiaomi Power Banks life span, plus after reading the Q&A from the last ROMOSS Deal post that you have to get an exemption from the airlines sounded like a pain and I've never experienced using ROMOSS products before but wouldn't mind trying if the price was right again :-)

  • Are these massive in size? would they fit in my pocket?

    • +5

depending on: ………… how deep is your love……. la la la la
ups i mean how deep is your pocket

    • +3

They are massive in size.If you want to carry it around in your pocket then suggest you get a 10000 mah powerbank or better yet a 5000 mah one.

  • Thoughts on what is the best PD powerbank on the market? To charge a Nintendo switch, m1 macbook air and an iphone 12 pro. Ideally around 20000mah

    • if money's not an issue, get the Cygnet ChargeUpPro 27K. I got it last month for $72 after cashback but the cheapest it's been without cashback is $79. These are not prices you'll see often though.

It will charge laptops at up to 65W. You can find others that can do this also but they're just as expensive unless it's Kogan's own brand, which I don't trust.

      • Can I ask where you bought it, and where I can at $79? Thanks!

        • +1

          it's expired now.

The $79 was from Catch but sold out quickly.

  • Thanks OP

  • +2

    Thanks OP.

One can never have too many powerbanks….at least that’s what I tell myself.

    • haha yeah.I have like 10 .Its nuts!

  • +1

What's the chance of seeing xiaomi wireless charging powerbank for 29 again?

  • Anyone know if these support PPS for super fast charging on newer Samsung phones? S20 etc Can't see it in the specs so i assume not

  • Woohoo, bought one so that it matches my phone input yey

Old one still going strong though

  • Thanks, have been meaning to replace the Xiaomi 20,000mAh that died.

    • How did it die. How long did you have it for?

      • Not the guy you asked, but I had a mi 20,000 unit which swelled up. Not exactly dead, but I wasn't game to use it any more.

        • +1

Mine burnt a hole from the inside out over a year ago. probably shouldn't of brought it on a plane so time for a replace

          • @humperdoo: You mean that you actually Still brought it on a plane After you saw it had a hole burnt through?

I thought I was being risky by still using my perfectly working ( although recalled and refunded ) Kogan power

bank ( although always now kept and used constantly in fireproof li-po bag ) lol.

      • Battery expanded, still worked but obviously not safe to continue to use.

Can't remember exactly when I bought it, but I know it lasted me quite a few years with lots of use, travelling, etc.

Hence why I am buying another of the same brand.

Have 2 10,000mAh ones, 1 x Samsung and 1 x Kogan. Both work well and are certainly thinner than the 20,000mAh units but if going on a long trip, so much better to have the 20,000mAh.

  • Thanks OP, bought one of each

  • I…. shouldn't. -.-

  • Xiaomi ZMI Aura, so can it be charged by usb c?

  • +2

Come on Kogan. Bring back the qb823 for $19.99 + delivery.

  • Got one thanks

  • Thanks OP, got the ZMI one. Hope it can slow charge a Lenovo Flex 5 laptop for my daughter during school use if needed.

    • At 27watt power delivery. Doubt that. The qb823 65watt power delivery would be better.

      • Will look at the qb823 option. Her laptop is new and battery supposed to last 10 hours or more. Was hoping the power bank serve to reduce the risk of running out of juice during the school day once perhaps the battery goes down to 50% or so. Will test and report when received.

        • +2

Should be ok to charge slowly.During testing,I have held off my Lenovo X1 carbon from depleting using only a 18w pd powerbank.

I have also worked from home the whole day powering it with a 25w Samsung wall charger.

          • +1

@techno2000: Perfect. That's what I was looking for. 65w PD would not only run the laptop but charge it up to full, but I am only looking for a back up for my daughter to get through the day without having to find a power point or even bring the charger brick with her. From what I have seen, there is no power point near her desks anyway. TY

            • +1

@x d: 20,000mAh is equivalent to 1.5 full charges of the Flex 5. That's 2.5 full charges of juice assuming 100% efficiency. Depending on how long a full charge lasts, it should be enough to get through the day. However, you will have to charge the power bank every night, and those normally charge slower than a laptop.

              • @lostn: Based on my testing,it will give you just enough just to tide over the day. Dont expect too much. For example , if your laptop is at 50% charge and you plug in the powerbank, few hours later the powerbank will be empty and laptop might be at 80%.

I believe supplying 27w is much less efficient than say 18w.Electrical gurus can explain it better.

                • +1

@techno2000: I think that's acceptable. Otherwise they can go for a Romoss 18w which usually sell for about $38.

A 27k with enough watts to charge a laptop is a significant bump in price. Maybe buy two of these QB822 with that money instead.

              • @lostn: Another great bit of info thanks. Supposedly the battery provide for 10 hours of screen time. She has never come home with it empty yet but if this provide another 1.5 full charges, that's more than plenty. Thanks again.

  • QB822 just sold out.

  • So quick. Ordered yesterday and here today!

Any specials on a 10,000 version anywhere??

    • +1

Yes i received the ZMI Aura as well. Interestingly,it appears to be Australian stock as it actually says Customer service hotline: 1800 070 031
      Website:mi-store.com.au on the box.

      https://www.mi-store.com.au/xiaomi-zmi-portable-power-bank-2…

On the kogan website,it says its an international version.

The ZMI Aura is also more compact than the Redmi powerbank.

      • Mine's the Aussie version too

      • Looka fake. There is no athenticity sticker. Comes with 1 cheap looking usb a to cable and not 2 cables. No pouch either. Kogan you have done it again!

@techno2000: I visited the mi-store.com.au as stated on the box and it shows the package content should be:

              Package Contents
              1x Xiaomi ZMI Portable Power Bank 2 20000mAh, 1x 20" USB-C to USB-C cable, 1x 12" 2-in-1 Micro-USB and USB-C to USB-A combo cable, 1x User guide

              • @zealmax: Mine isn't charging. Was showing 53 out of the box. After 2 hours of charging it is still on 53.

Edit: As soon as I commented, it went from 53 to 54. Let's hope this is genuine and doesn't have safety issues.

                • @zealmax: Mine went from 55 to 65 really quickly, then to 74 pretty quickly. Then about another 2 hours to reach 75.

                  • @ajm07: Seems to be working OK. I am fine, if it is fake and just gives up the ghost quickly. My only concern is if it is fake and explodes in my pocket/luggage. Fingers crossed. It sure looks real.

                    • @zealmax: Mine is working fine. Even powered my Lenovo X1 Carbon for many hours.

Its now depleted and charging normally on the pd charger.

I think i will go with "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."

                    • @zealmax: Mine arrived yesterday, arrived on 99% charge, i used it until 70% charge then charged it up to 99% again to test if it was charging after reading these messages, no issues at all, performs roughly the same as my ZMI 820 from a couple of years ago

                      • @witheredcouch: Yes so far it looks good. However, why would it have mi-store.com.au on the box and on the site, it states the box should contain 2 cables and pouch same as from zmi.com. It could be a good quality fake.

I logged a support request with Kogan. To my surprise I got a response within hours. Kogan states that it is genuine without providing any evidence. Straight up offered $15 refund. I didn't want to waste more time on this, so I accepted the partial refund.

                        • @zealmax: From memory the pouch only comes with the ones sold in America. Don't think my qb823 came with authentication stickers.

                          Edit:

QR code goes to this link for my qb823.

                          https://www.panmi.com.au/warranty-warning/

                          • @xoom: The ones sold by mi-store.com.au has the same package content. Why would Xiaomi deliberately make packages that look fake?

  • Does this comes with authentic scratch sticker on the box??

  • Really frustrated with the ZMI Aura from Kogan. Instruction manual is not in English & I can't locate one in English.

I'm trying to figure out if the LED light can be switched off as mine is always on. I've tried pressing the button on the side, but to no avail. Seems to me this will unnecessarily drain the powerbank when not in use.

Does anyone know if the LED can be switched off and how?

    • +1

My QB822 came in today. The LED numeral lights switch off automatically on mine. If I push the button on the side the battery percentage number comes up but then turns off while continuing to charge.

The instruction manual is multi language, check from page 4 it's the English section.

  • +3

Got my Xiaomi ZMI Aura QB822 today from Kogan, was happy with the free quick postage but no authentic scratch sticker anywhere on the box and only one short thin USB-A to USB-C Charge Cable.

I had a quick glance at only one of the USB-A Ports and it looked like it had very small MI branding on it but didn't have my glasses on. Just put it on charge hopefully it will get past 66% and hit 100% by the time I wake up and get to test it out.

I noticed that the box also had mi-store.com.au under the QR Code as others mentioned previously and iOS doesn't seem to recognise it as being a valid QR Code on my iPhone.

Has anyone tried contacting Xiaomi/ZMI or the mi-store.com.au about the ZMI Aura QB822 from Kogan to see if its some other cheaper SKU packaged only for Kogan for the Australian Market or a Possible Fake? As other buyers have brought up the possibility of it being a good looking fake in previous posts especially with no authentic scratch sticker and code.

  • My QB822 has just gone kaput.

Tried to charge my phone and it wasn't charging. Tried to charge the powerbank unit itself, nothing. Then started smelling burnt plastic so I quickly disconnected it. Only lasted a few days. Not a good sign.
