    Just be aware that:
    1. While it says 100% natural in big words, the product is actually all synthetic erythritol. They can say "natural" only because the chemical, erythritol, is present in trace amounts in nature.
    2. While it is described as "stevia sweetener", there is only 0.7% of stevia in it. This is nevertheless still more honest than the other one "made with monk fruit and stevia" which has only 0.3% of monk fruit and stevia.

Thanks, bought some of this for brewing and was a bit puzzled by the listed ingredients. Do you know if theres anything unhealthy about Erythritol?

      • +2

Don't think so. In fact I believe it's one of the safer sugar replacement.

      • Erythritol we use is produced by a naturally occurring yeast from natural ingredient. No synthetic chemical processes are used during production and the resulting Erythritol is identical to that which is found in nature.

Erythritol is made from corn using enzymes and fermentation.

So it is as natural as and as synthetic as alcohol and vinegar.

    • Stevia extract is a characterizing ingredient in this product. It is over 200 times sweeter than sugar, so only very small amount is needed to provide the sweetness of sugar.
Consumers often look for a specific intense sweetener such as monk fruit extract, stevia , sucralose etc. Therefore , it is industry practice to mention characterizing intense sweetener(s) in the name of the product or emphasize on the front label to help consumers easily identify and purchase the ones they prefer.

Thanks OP, great price to stock up! I get this for my diabetic hubby as it doesn't spike his blood sugars.
