Closest I can find to Melbourne is Shepparton

    • call them and get it delivered. they're $969 at jb.

Very good price for an iPad Air 3 .

  • +1

Isn't the 2020 entry level iPad (8th Gen) essentially the same as this?

    • Yeah it's pretty similar. This has a few nice extras like 64 gigs minimum, better screen and camera

    • +1

Yep basically. On the Air you get an 0.3 extra inches on the screen and double the base storage, 32GB vs 64 GB. Otherwise, practically the same.

    • +6

Better screen, better speakers, bigger screen, 8 times the storage, better cameras and so on, so yeah pretty much the same except for all those changes.

      • +4

So not really the same? lol

        • +1

Nah it's a number of very minor changes. The overall form factor is very close and the chip inside is the same.

8 times more storage is just rubbish.

          • @Merlict: The deal is for 256gb model listed here. So no it isn’t rubbish. A laminated brighter screen is a significant change IMO. The entry level is a good option for those that can live with 32gb storage.

            • +2

@Ronnnie: I dunno I see the new ipad 8th gen for $475 and then with gift cards it's like… substanitally cheaper.

Big difference in price - prefer to get newest ipad.

              • @[Deactivated]: This is Ipad Air series which is not same as standard Ipad series.

                • @enjunuet: Yeah see comments above not sure if you missed the comment by Camelthief

              • @[Deactivated]: Why do you prefer ‘the newest iPad’ over a slightly older iPad Air with better specs and a bigger screen (less bezel), other than price? I get it that $125 is a fair but more but you get a better tablet with 8x more storage for it, not sure why people disagree with Ronnie on this?

              • @[Deactivated]: The iPad base model is only 32 gb of storage. So that might not be good enough. The 128gb model is similar in price to this air 3 deal. Actually the base model is inferior to my six year old plus iPad Air 2 in some ways. Hence why I’m yet to replace my six year plus iPad with one of the entry level offerings. Also it didn’t cost much more at release time over 6 years ago than the current base model is now at around the $500 and has 64gb of storage. If you want to save money the tab A series might work for you too, and it substantially cheaper again. It also has things like a quad speaker setup and a laminated screen. I believe Apple are about to release a new base model that’ll basically be the same as the iPad Air 3 line. I would wait for that one than buy the current entry level iPad. And that’ll be the one I’ll get to replace my air 2.

Can we use on Adobe Products.

    • +2

I believe you can use Adobe products on it instead.:)

And yes, photoshop, Lightroom, illustrator etc have ipadOS versions. yMMV.

  • call the store - they can deliver to you

grabbed 1 for delivery, thanks op

  • IMO Better off paying a bit extra for a14 considering that Apple is running a 5% cashback as well as free AirPods atm

    • +11

I wouldn't call it "a bit extra" though. The A14 iPad Air 256GB is $1,129.

      • +3

education is 1059 with free airpods. In addition to 5% cashback you pay 1,006.05. sell the airpods for 200 ish then it is 800 and a bit. compared to 599 that is a 200 dollar diff and totally worth it imo considering the huge upgrade

        • +1

          For the uni students

          • +1
          • +1

@Fancydancer: Anyone can access the education discount just by going into the education store online, then order and pay and either pick up or have it delivered. I've always ordered via the education store when purchasing MacBooks or iPads. Two weeks ago I purchased the iPad Air 4 and received the free AirPods which I upgraded to AirPods Pro and paid the extra.

        • +2

That's assuming you will get $200 for airpods. If you get $100 then it's a 50% premium ($599 vs $900 and a bit).

          • -2

@g1: even at 300, it is worth the upgrade, there is a huge diff between gen 3 and 4

          • +2

@g1: Yeah making a lot of assumptions. And you know what assumptions get you

      • +2

Yeah spending almost double is only a little bit extra on ozbargain.

        • -3

yep 200 is a bit extra, do your math

          • @XanderYuan: Provide link where you can get deal for only $200 more?

            • -5

@Ronnnie: Pfff I’ve done the math, see above

              • +6

@XanderYuan: I see what you posted, a deal that isn’t accessible for everyone and factoring in selling an extra for above market price. Then you later moved the goal posts in replies. Nice lol

                • -4

@Ronnnie: So instead of taking the average gumtree price you would like to significantly undervalues the AirPods. I’ll give you 50 which makes the difference 250. Satisfied? Moving the goal post? No, it was my error that I didn’t state uni students. I should have added that

                  • +2

@XanderYuan: I don't know if the average Gumtree price is really $200, but they are about that price brand new: https://www.catch.com.au/product/apple-airpods-with-charging…

                    • @bio: You can check for yourself instead of looking online

                      • +1

@XanderYuan: Aint selling normal airpods for 200. The actual selling price is 150-170. Listing price =/= selling price.

                        • @voo123: Very true. However, it’s nowhere near 100 new as these people seem to suggest

                    • @bio: You can regularly get brand new airpods retail for $199 at places like umart, then price guarantee at OW for $189. I have done this a couple, of times when buying gifts, and I see it regularly. Good luck getting $100 second hand, even BNIB.

The dude is just doubling down on his original post they made without much thought.

                      • @entropysbane: I’ll buy 100 brand new sealed genuine AirPods with receipts from you for 120 dollars each. Since you seem to be suggesting that you will be able to get them at 100 dollars each from sellers, that will make you 2000 dollar profit. Want to try?

                • +2

@Ronnnie: Education store and prices are accessible to everyone, just order, pay and pick up or have it delivered.

  • OOS everywhere.

  • Will wait until $99 😂

  • New iPads are a comin

I called the national Good Guys number and was informed that Busselton (WA) had 4 in stock (3 now after my purchase). Organised payment and delivery by phone. Total cost was $600, including delivery to NSW. Thanks OP!!!

  • +1

I wish they made it simpler to remember what gen the iPads are like the iPhone.

    • Agree so stupid Ipad 8th Gen 2020 blah blah. Why not Ipad 8, 8s etc? Would be so much easier.

      • It's probably a sales tactic.

  • -1

Chances of the other retailers dropping their prices to clear stock? I'd think that at least one of the other vendors would do so.

    • The 64GB version at the price of the latest ‘normal’ 32GB iPad would be nice!

  • no 4 gee means no bee gee

  • +1

Bought the iPad Air 3 256GB at the Good Guys today 😀👍

    • At this price? ($599)

    • In Perth?
