MEGAUPLOAD (Online File Service) PREMIUM Account - 55-60% Discount [Reseller MegaUploadVouchers]

560

MegaUpload currently have a "double deal" until 6th Jan 2012, which is great in itself. Using this reseller you can get an additional 6 to 9% discount = overall 54% to 59% saving off the normal price:

http://www.megauploadvouchers.net < Link to the DEAL

MegaUpload is a file hosting service like Rapidshare, and with a Premium Account you can upload and download unlimited amounts of traffic during the subscription period. Here is the link to MegaUpload's page with subscription benefits:

http://www.megaupload.com/?c=premium < Info only - do NOT buy from this link)

I normally buy 3 months (normally €14.99) from the reseller for €18.80, which converts to AU$24.85 via Paypal.

Using the reseller, you can now get 2 years for €54.80 which works out at €2.28/mth

ALL THE PRICES:
1 month normally €14.99 - now 2 MONTHS for €13.80
3 month normally €19.99 - now 6 MONTHS for €18.80
1 year normally €59.99 - now 2 YEARS for €54.80
2 years normally €79.99 - now 4 YEARS for €74.80

Lifetime normally €199.99 for €178.80 << EDIT - DO NOT BUY THIS ONE - IT IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS. It just doubles the bonus, it does NOT give you 2 x Lifetime memberships.

HOW TO USE THIS DEAL:
Pay via Paypal Only. You buy from MegaUploadVouchers and get a voucher code emailed back to you. You then enter that voucher into this webpage: http://www.megaupload.com/redeem/, and that extends your subscription accordingly. It's never failed for me, very fast (10 seconds) and reliable.

EDIT TO ADD - THERE ARE REPORTS IN THIS THREAD OF DELAYS GETTING THE VOUCHERS. I am checking why this is happening, but I assume that it's because they are manually processed and the people are completely swamped with business.

WHAT IS THIS? SOME BACKGROUND & MORE INFO:
If you've never used a proper file hosting service for uploading and downloading, you don't what you are missing out on. I am pulling down a consistant 8MB/sec to 10MB/sec using Optus Cable (speedpack) and 10 or 12 download threads at once.

Even a single file is coming down at over 1MB/sec - of course this is limited by your own internet connection, but it's usually heaps faster than the typical speeds of other hosting methods, especially Peer-based ones. Plus it's very reliable and less likely to have "bad stuff", and the downloads are resumable.

Anyway, if you already use this kind of service and understand what it's for, it's a massive saving. If you don't understand, or if you prefer to use other services then that is fine too. For people like me who subscribe to use it anyway, this is a great deal.

so many megaupload leech websitea… theres no need to buy their premium service..

    • +3

Yeah but the leechy sites are S-L-O-W as a wet week. And you cannot use the upload aspect of the Premium service.

If you are a true OzBargainer, you could buy this and share it.

      • +9

check out DebridMax and RapidPremium. Beats the heck out of just buying Megaupload. You get to use 11 other filehosts as well.

        • Using rapidpremium at the moment, but ever since they fileserve isn't on their list, I'd try out Debridmax.

I know that fileserve is just one site they're missing, but a third of the links i use is fileserve.

        • RapidPremium currently supports Fileserve through their "Ticket" system. It's a rather crudge and slow workaround, but it works.

With DebridMax (yes, I use both Debrid and RPnet) all I get is an error message "Filserve is currently under maintainance" whenever I enter any links. They also limit you to 2 Fileserve links per day.

        • Yes, but these "shared services" are usually SLOW - they are basically proxies.

This deal is specifically for people who want maximum performance, and to download directly from MegaUpload. People who use Megaupload and know where to source files will understand what this deal is about.

As I said in my OP - it's about speed. The "multi-uploader" servies like PremiumRapid are more about bypassing the Captcha and one concurrent download limits for non-premium accounts.

        • they are basically proxies.

That I didn't know. I thought all they do is generate a premium link? RPnet does saturate my 11mbps ADSL2 connection though, so it didn't feel like it was going through a proxy to me.

        • Fileserve is banning all big downloaders, there is no point trying to find a service that offers it as it likely won't for much longer.

Also proxy, streaming, whatever you want to call it it doesn't matter. You are downloading from rapid premium's server and you get very fast speeds from them, who cares how it works.

        • @scrimshaw yea i can't be bothered to use their ticket system, i rather just try to find a mirror

@samfisher, thanks for that, saves me from switching to debrid.

Only got an 8mb adsl connection but rapidpremium also downloads at max possible speed for me.

        • does using rapidP have the exactly same as buying the premium of all 13 hosts? like parallel downloads and faster speed?

        • Yes, exactly the same.

Also supports HDD storage so you don't have to worry about your 13GB video getting deleted half way through download.

        • Would love to know how this works?
I use a download manager so how would RapidPremium work in this instance?

      • -1

If you share your megaupload account then you'll get banned, thats not the ozbargainer way.

  • +1

    Lifetime normally €199.99 - now 2 X LIFETIME for €178.80

2 lifetimes? How does that work?

    • for two people?

    • +34

when u die and come back again u use the second one. This option only works for cats.
Or u can just give the second one to some1 else

  • +1

    "Lifetime normally €199.99 - now 2 X LIFETIME for €178.80"

so, megaupload for this life and the next? hopefully I don't come back as a worm, otherwise it would be kind of useless…

    • +12

There are a lot of worms on the internet. U can still benefit. use megaupload to spread urself. :p

  • -7

why not use torrents its free to leech/seed/share whatever you call it!!

    • +4

Because it's easy for the monitors to scrape IP addresses from public and even private trackers, but tracking specific files from a direct download is far more difficult.

However MegaUpload is at the top of the list of targets at the moment, so it'd be fairly safe to assume your details will be obtained in semi-legal wrangling at some point in the future with MegaUpload.

Plus MU will have a fairly constant speed, not dependent on seeds.

      • I'm sure if they can monitor your download/upload from torrents. They should be able to monitor your download from MU and other sharing services..

        • It's possible but it's much harder as there isn't a free, publicly available way to easily check. How do you think packets from torrents get from one user to another? Because there's a "public tracker" which is available to everyone who wants to look.

You yourself can look at everyone connected to you by just going to the appropriate tab in your torrent client.

It's possible to intercept direct download, but it's far more difficult as MU doesn't have a publicly available listing of whomever is currently downloading from them.

        • +2

No, it doesn't work like that.

Torrents are like being on the street while cars drive past you looking at you.

You are literally advertising to the MPAA etc that you are downloading these files, its like "Hey look at what I'm doing!"

Download services are like being inside your house, unless the police bust in and look at you, nobody is going to see you.

    • +2

torrents aren't a very good option for those who have metered uploads either. I have unlimited TPG adsl, but I prefer direct downloads over Torrents because I don't have to keep my computer turned on 24/7 just to get my ratio right.

Also with torrents, your privacy basically goes out the window. This is why.

      • how about programs like peerblock?

        • -1

I was thinking of that too. How was it?

        • +4

Peerblock rarely works. Lifehacker did an article about torrents and privacy.

t’s a dark time for BitTorrent. A lot of the old methods aren’t very useful anymore. Applications like PeerBlock claim to block the MPAA and RIAA from connecting to you, but they’re not very reliable, and you can still easily get caught when using PeerBlock. Similarly, while your BitTorrent client’s encryption can be helpful against throttling, it doesn’t always protect you, since some ISPs use more powerful methods of seeing what you’re downloading that can get past basic BitTorrent encryption.

The only way to anonymise your torrent is to use a proxy like BTGuard, or use a VPN or seedbox to cover your tracks.
These methods of course still have their downsides — BTGuard is not free, and neither is a VPN or a seedbox. You might as well be paying for Premium access to Megaupload etc.

so yeah, whoever neg voted my comment, take it back! :)

        • Aren't those programs just like placebos?

While sure they can block you from connecting to blacklisted IP's but they don't stop your IP from being listed on trackers

        • Peerblock is just a placebo. It prevents people with "blocked" IP addresses from connecting to you. However, these same people can just get your IP from the tracker, they don't need to connect to you at all. Nothing can stop this (other than using decentralised tracking), since this is how torrents work.

      • -1

You just need to know how to torrent correctly, and i torrent plenty :p That site (youhavedownloaded) has only flagged me for a zeitgeist movie. Which is free to get, with torrents being one of the main mirrors.

re: ratio keeping. The better sites have a few methods to keep a decent ratio up or have removed ratios altogether :)

    • +1

      other reasons;
because you have to rely on other people seeding which doesn't always work.
direct downloading is faster alot of the time.
uses less bandwidth. if you share your internet this is important.

    • Can your torrents do 30 Mbps?

      These sites can.

When NBN comes I wouldn't be suprised if we can pull 50+ Mbps as well.

      • Can your torrents do 30 Mbps?

        Yes.

        • Prove it then.

If your not lying, then you probably have to keep your ratio to something silly anyway, nobody wants to do that.

Either way I'm not one to illegally distribute copyrighted material.

On my gbit VPS (which of course costs more than megaupload :P)

        • So your paying for a VPS then.

Of course you can get high download speeds when you have 100/1000mbit upload ;)

Still doesn't change the fact that your distributing copyrighted material, don't think your VPN provider won't pass on your details if you got caught.

Also more useful, your VPN can be used as a proxy to access US only sites, that sounds more worth it :)

        • About copyright: It's true, but as long as I stay away from public trackers and easy to get into private trackers I'll be fine.

Anyway, personally I use megaupload/fileserve to get my content 95% of the time.

The VPS is there for other reasons.

        • I agree about private trackers, except for the small amount that might get raided etc

  • +3

    $17 for a month? Eh.

  • +3

inb4SOPA , also usenet is cheaper

    • Astraweb is $39 per quarter or $156 per year for unlimited, this is as little as approaching 0c per month (ie $225 divided by infinity with the lifetime license). And that $225 gets you two licences so if you share with a friend each pays ~$115 for a lifetime license. Hell, even with only a two year subscription at ~$70 this is far, far cheaper.

What's this cheap usenet you speak of?

      • -6

        .

        • So you're negging why?

        • Negging because I purchased this and haven't receive a voucher 90 minutes later. I have now been forced to submit a support ticket to try and retrieve the voucher.

I tried retrieving the voucher via the "voucher lookup" page and that didn't work either with the correct date and time.

The OP claimed that "It's never failed for me, very fast (10 seconds) and reliable"….

It failed for me the very first time I've tried to use it, and now I'm going to have to rely on their support to try and sort it out.

      • +1

I'm glad you both spoke up.

      • Astraweb has had a $96/year unlimited plan for years now: http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/voucher.cgi?t=zgufplhx…

I'm currently using Thundernews at $5/month unlimited, with a 180GB block with Astraweb as backup in case of incompletes (which I haven't needed to use ever): http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/35004

A lifetime subscription does seem like a pretty good offer here, but I personally still prefer Usenet.

        • The Thundernews site shows $19/month USD for 200GB a month: https://www.thundernews.com/signup.php?pricepointid=204

How do you get 180GB for $5/month?

        • @tantryl: It's $5/month for unlimited not 180GB (I have a 180GB pay-by-download block with Astraweb as backup). Click the OzBargain link in my comment above for details of the deal I'm on — the offer is not available now, but Thundernews have offered the special on Black Fridays in both 2010 and 2011. :)

        • Ah, thankyou.

It's worth noting for people wanting that as an option - the next Black Friday is in about 11 months.

      • You do not receive 2x lifetime subscriptions, btw.

  • Is anyone interested in splitting a lifetime membership? at Euros $178 this equates to approx $230 AUD. So $115 each?

    • +1

I would not risk sharing a lifetime membership, if they catch you then its gone.

      • I wasn't referring to sharing, it's a 2 for 1 lifetime membership, so don't you get two? or have i messed it up?

      • +1

I'm sharing a megaupload premium with 4 others, no problems.

I have heard stories of people sharing with even more people. Megaupload is generally very lenient on this (unlike Fileserve for example).

If you have a couple of close friends, it's worth it to split the 4 year premium for ~$30 each.

EDIT: If they detect 5 IPs downloading at the same time, then they will change your password and email you the new details. The next time your account will be suspended for an hour, then a few hours, a day, etc.

        • Its hard to know what they use to figure it out, but perhaps it works for friends because you are in the same city?

        • No, like I said they monitor IPs, and not based on the region.

IPs that use my current megaupload:
          - me on telstra
          - brother on optus
          - friend overseas
          - a server of mine overseas

          No problems at all. :)

    • +3

Do you pay for your internet?

      • -5

Until I find a new place to live I'm mooching off my father, but yes I do. I pay for Internet so I can access email services, online shopping, podcasts, wikipedia, iTunes store, software updates for my computer, job hunting and of course Facebook to keep in touch with others overseas.

    • -1

I've downloaded over 200GB in a month and watched it all, and I work full time.

Example of file sizes (These are available in both legit and non legit places)

      Walking Dead 1080p Season 1 Episode 1 - 6.99GB
      Horrible Bosses 1080p - 13.9GB
      Sons of Anarchy 720p Season 1 Episode 1 - 2.64GB

As you can see sites like this are a must, bittorrent is horrible and slow, even private sites.

Usenet is an option though I hear…

Also if you have a 17" LCD then no you don't need 720p/1080p, if you have a decent TV or monitor then there is a huge difference and you pick up a lot more detail about people, environments etc then normally.

      • -1

Oh I completely understand the technology, and file sizes, compression etc. I just love how defensive people get when you point out to them the moral hypocrisy of paying a hosting company so you don't have to pay to get the shows on iTunes/Cable/DVD

Oh, and as to your 200GB, if the computer was on while you were at work downloading from say iTunes servers, 8 hours per day, that is 1.85 Mb/s. So yeah, totally necessary to have that 10 MB/s (80 Mb/s connection the description is talking about).

        http://www.phdcomics.com/comics.php?f=1456

        • The problem is iTunes/Cable/DVD doesn't have anything I want, what would that achieve?

if I can get my TV Shows/Movies in 720p/1080p very soon after its shown in America, I would pay for it.

        • -1

No, you're right, not available through a legitimate digital source:

          http://www.amazon.com/Horrible-Bosses-UltraViolet-Digital-Co…

        • dawyndham, I didn't know amazon could ship it to me in a few hours? Must be magic carpet delivery service?

          Where is my:

          Californication Season 5 Episode 1

          Walking Dead Season 2?

          Misfits season 3

I could go on, also all has to be 720p or higher.

        • But that's kind of like saying why do people drive cars when they could simply walk for free?

People aren't paying hosting companies so they don't have to pay to get the things they want, they pay so they can get it faster.

Edit: samfisher5986 you so silly, this post is directed at dawyndham.

        • err what?

People drive cars for speed and because its easy, the same reason I download things.

People are paying hosting companies for both speed and getting it for free.

I'm unsure what your trying to say.

Also just noticed some problems with your amazon link.

          Its DVD, horrible quality.

Its region encoded to US, useless.

      • You mean from iTunes, right?

  • +3

    I personally wouldn't purchase this as I use http://rpnet.biz

Its a site that has access to a big list of premium sites, megaupload, filesonic etc

At the moment it costs $6.99 a month, less if you buy a year etc.

While megaupload is a great service, no file host exists that has all the content I need.

In addition, uploading copyrighted material will get you in a lot more trouble and the only thing Australians have got in trouble for.

Downloading from Usenet/megaupload/etc means you are only downloading it and are not redistributing it which is where the big fines or getting sued comes from.

    • You use rpnet? No wonder you're paranoid about sharing. These guys go down hard on sharers :)

      • +1

I wouldn't even try to share, they are so cheap!

I used to share when I had multiple accounts, so glad I don't have to do that anymore.

      • I share with my GF no issue there. I mean what about dynamic IP's that are constantly changing. Just don't download at the same time.

  • +6

    • ROFL - that video is pathetic, but the Youtube comments are so funny

      • The cost of production was in excess of $3 million

  • Aw man, if only the Lifetime purchase entitled you to two codes, and not just 6x1 month codes to give to friends, I'd totally find someone to split it with..

    • +1

The Lifetime direct from Megaupload is definitely TWO codes…

      http://www.megaupload.com/?c=premium

      That's EURO 199.99 (for 2)

I'm currently checking if the Reseller's voucher (EURO 178.80) is also for 2 subscriptions - the discount they quote (231.40) seems to imply that it's for 2

      • +1

IMPORTANT - I HAVE CHECKED - The Lifetime is NOT TWO codes…

Response from MU about the x2 lifetime accts:

Only the premium vouchers will be doubled during the X2 Holiday Sale and not the lifetime membership. You will get 6 (1 month) premium vouchers instead of 3.

Please refer to the "SEE BENEFITS" box under the Lifetime Platinum Membership on the premium page (http://www.megaupload.com/?c=premium)."

        • +1

Which is what I said one got initially :p Thank for confirming though.

        • Yes, thanks Puff Braddy - your comment is what made me go and double-check.

  • +11

There is a method to get a free premium and it works great if you're using a browser that supports adblock.

Grab yourself & install megakey http://www.megakey.com/

Open up Megakey benefits and use these settings; http://i.imgur.com/hhcLv.png

Megakey is official, what it does is it replaces ads with ads that megamedia has chosen. So instead of the site you're visiting getting clicks/ads displayed and getting money, megamedia gets it instead. But all this doesnt matter if you're running adblock :p

    • Really? That sounds awesome.. Will have to try it out sometime.

    • Damn, this worked an absolute treat!! So much love!!

    • What does this do actually? Stealing and sharing other people's login details? If so, I wouldn't want to be a part of it.

      • Nah nothing like that, megakey is actually something released by Megamedia (owners of megaupload).

It replaces all the ads you usually see on website with their own, so they're getting money from you surfing. In exchange you pretty much get a premium account.

    • Don't know how you can get it working, but on my computer, it just blocks all my internet access from a web brower, regardless it is IE or Firefox.

tried a few times and rebooted a few times, did a few google searches, all suggest it is broken.

  • -4

This is just some veiled piracy.
Reason why shit like SOPA exists.

    • +2

This is the same thinking that torrents are only used for piracy.

  • Just curious, what are the things you can download from megaupload?

    • +2

just like any hoster, a most things in general.

But for rarer things, you can't rely on just one host.

I miss the good old days, where Rapidshare was the king and had everything.

      • Filesonic is the king now, IMO!

        • I've got filesonic till June 2012 now wondering if I should get 4 years MU as well?

        • +1

Looking at my download history, only 4 out of 10 things I download are from Megaupload.
Filesonic and Fileserve seem to be much more common compared to Megaupload.

        • Agreed. Everything I'm after is usually hosted on Filesonic, not Megaupload.

        • The uploaders (people who share stuff) tend to go with servers who give credits for uploading. Right now that means Filesonic and Fileserve and a few others too.

However, the thing is that the links tend to only last a few days (hours?) at these "more commonly used" services.

Unless you are grabbing things that are fresh (eg: within a day old), you can have a very frustrating time finding links for those sites.

Everything I'm after is usually hosted on Filesonic, not Megaupload

That is just because of where you are searching. In other words, the sites that you are visiting are using Fileserve and Filesonic for hosting. If you search at other places that use RS or MU, then the majority of things that you are after would be at Rapidshare or Megaupload (make sense?)

        • llama a few things

If your on the right site you won't encounter dead links very often, if you do you can often just visit the other 10-20 links of the same content.

All newly released content is available on Fileserve, Filesonic, Megaupload, Rapidshare etc

When something is deleted, you'll find it deleted from all of them, it often depends how quickly certain links have been leaked to public websites in Google.

There isn't one host that exists that has everything.

Fact: Megaupload is used a lot less then Filesonic/Fileserve and Rapidshare for newly released content, doesn't mean you still can't easily find it on megaupload though, there are just less of the same content.

      • Is there search engines for mega upload?

        • filestube

        • +3

There is a much better place then filestube.

Here's a tip, if the results show in Google your not at the right place.
