  • My friend bought this for 190$ last week !

  • (Edited by scotty — removed as requested)

    • Your maths is a bit off! Your numerators and denominators need to be swapped around :P
      Hence it is $149/320 = $0.466/GB and $92.95/250GB = $0.3717/GB.

      • Thanks WaywardOne… will have to ban myself from trying to write anything intelligent today… Scotty can you please delete my post above, I can't edit it for some reason. Looks like I should have tried out some of the recipes here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/6060 before posting.

        • Done. Once someone replied your comment you can't edit that anymore. I often make the same mistake so you don't see me trying to show off my maths over here :)

          • @scotty: Thanks for that Scotty. Ok, will try semi-intelligent post without any calculations ;-)

Given this offer for 250GB http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/6040 http://www.mwave.com.au/newAU/mwaveAU/productdetail.asp?sku=… it would appear that the the current best $ per GB ratio is to be had at 250GB rather than 320GB.

            • @gabbyh: I dont think you can consider storage devices based on calculation like this. If 1GB is say 1$, and 4GB 20$, it still doesnt make stacking 4 small units good.

What if you want to backup data that is more then 250GB?. The more is always better, and it is a deal if it is below market price.

              • @mawinmawin: While having more may be better there does come a price point where it simply becomes financially inefficient. The $ per GB calculation is certainly valid and gives a proper comparison much like the unit pricing eg. $ per 100g that stores like Aldi have already implemented.

                • @gabbyh: If you consider Mwave is selling the 320GB WD passport for $207.90, then you know OW & HT's $149 are great deals.

  • Just bought this from Office Works for $179, so its certainly a good deal. I love this little drive.

  • Just picked one up. Very happy with the purchase.

I didn't think there was a LED light on it, but there is right next to the port.

The USB symbol glows a white light. Nice!

Thanks for the post. Wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
