Probably the best drive for gaming or home use.

Its not the fastest on paper benchmarks, but 800MBps writes, even once you've exhausted the cache? Thats real-world fast. 1.5GBps while you still have cache to spare.

There is literally no reason to go higher for a normal use case; unless its purely wank factor.

Yes, people who buy crucial P2's just don't know any better, it's cheap but with significant negatives speed wise, this is the best drive for the price. I am waiting for 2tb to become affordable

    • Better than 970 EVO?

      • 970 evo is in a different price bracket, it's more like a $200 drive, while this is a $140-$150 drive when not on special

      • No, it's worse. But the 970 is ~$30 more expensive when on sale + after cashback. For real world use I don't really think you'd notice the difference between this and a 970 Evo.

      • Nope; but the price difference makes you ask: How many of your apps need faster than 800 Megabytes per second read and write?

  • How does this compare with the A2000? I currently have the A2000 and there is a noticeable stutter when it autosaves while gaming, is that normal?

    • they are both very similar in terms of real world performance, even if the a2000 has dram caching
