    Great price for 3600

I got the 5600x for $433 on Amazon via Amazon US. Obviously a bit longer delivery but good price nonetheless.

waits for comments about how new CPU is incoming and will wait for that

    • The post has new 5600x CPU already in it?

Bad time to buy with the 6xxx series just around the corner.

And by corner he means months.

          • +4

@pingMarky: And by months, he means around 12 of them.

new CPU is incoming and will wait for that

You'd be nuts to buy the 11th gen Intel over Zen 3 or even 10th gen Intel.

  • Wow that's like aliexpress pricing on the 3600

  • +2

Pretty sure the 3600 here is tray version +wraith stealth, the retail packaging is $4 more

    • Thanks for that, have updated the OP for clarity as I was unsure why there were 2 listings.

    • +2

Retail version can be found here if anyone is looking for it.

    • Thanks for this, was about to buy but then saw the retail version for the 3600.

    • tray version?

      • CPU minus retail packaging or cooler. (but in this case it comes with a cooler)

Basically what system builders buy cause they don't want the fancy packaging or stock coolers.

  • For anyone familiar with eBay deals, how often does this 15% off deal usually occur with PC parts?

Because right now with the deal above, I could get the 5800X with 15% off, 980 Pro NVMe with 15% off, and the X570 Master with 15% off.

But I would rather wait until mid-April or May to get the 5900X with 15% off when it's in stock. If these deals are regular.

    • These sales aren't regular and are spur of the moment, the last time there was this many items on sale was during the Afterpay 12% off a few weeks ago, then before that was Black Friday. Usually it's selected sellers only whereas this is most of the big sellers on the platform, so the chances of getting a 5900X on the cheap are possible but quite slim.

can't wait anymore, bought 5800X and 980 pro this morning, looking for a nice motherboard now…
      where is the 15% X570 master?i only saw X570 tomahawk $279.65

PCCG and umart have B550 aorus master at $299, good deal?

      • +1

Same boat, couldn't wait anymore got exactly those parts too (5800X & 1Tb 980 Pro). Already have the RAM on a special from last September lol.

The X570 Master was not on special, I only realised at the checkout, it was removed from the sale as I was ordering, but I put the order through anyway since I have 4 sticks of single channel 8Gb 3600Mhz C16 RAM (32Gb total), I want stability and hopefully the higher end board provides that.

Go with the X570 Tomahawk (great board based on the research I done), the B550 will make the 980 Pro you purchased a waste of money because it does not support PCIe 4.0 on the m2 drive side I believe. While the X570 boards support PCIe 4 on both the GPU and the m2 drives.

        • yes, thank you foir the advice.
bought the X570 tomahawk, can't find any other better deals atm.

B550 aorus master is very good on overkill power supply for cpu, I don't need it anyway,
on the AM4 MB power tier list x570 tomahawk is same level as X570-e, higher than B550 mortar and B550 Aorus Pro.

          • @Watanabe1995: Hi guys, I'm also looking at a 5800X build (I've been out of the game for a while).

I'm looking at the Lian Li Mesh case, X570 Tomahawk board. Still looking at RAM options (G.Skill?).

Would you mind sharing your build details?

What did you buy for CPU cooling?

Where did you go for the 1Tb 980 Pro (HT doesn't appear to have stock)?

I'll be using the PC mostly for software dev, database / productivity and some 1080p gaming (fps focussed) so I'd probably be looking at a mid-range GPU.

            Thanks.

  • 5600x is on Amazon for 433 if no one minds the wait

  • +1

thanks OP been waiting for a deal on 3600 like this!

with 5% off on $250 choice gift cards it brought the total down to $245.90!

    • Would rather order the retail version for another $4. Idk if there is difference on warranty between OEM and Retail version.

      • Didn't even read that tbh. I've got an after market cooler but warranty issue is valid if anyone can shed some light?

        • You're covered by Australian Consumer Law, so I wouldn't worry about any differences in warranty

  • Any deals on 5900X or 5950X?

  • Awesome, I just cancelled an order for 3500X for 3600 retail (same price in the end).

  • if you have a 2600, is the 3600 worth the upgrade?

    • Personally, I won't give it a go.

  • Any decent mobo for 3600?

  • +1

why is the 3600 on sale every other week, but the 3700x never?
