My 700s are garbage like many others getting random drops. They keep going down in price for a reason. Im a big Bose fan , have the new sports buds, had qc35 for 6 years they died recently, the 700s are such a let down I shelved them and bought a new pair of 35 IIs, so happy I did.
I'm waiting patiently until they update the 35s to USB-C…
that was from a botched update. It's a shame they don't let you opt out of updates. Mine is a non-borked version and I make sure to kill the internet connection when I use it.
I didn't chuck them was hoping in a year it might fix it
@Capitalshark: Bose are not very timely with updates. They still haven't fixed the qc35 update that reduced ANC. They don't even acknowledge a problem despite 2000 pages of complaints on the official forum.
@lostn: Yeah I read the forums saw it wasn't only mine, and gave up as Bose didn't seem to care. I need them for business calls , they would randomly drop mid call I couldn't afford the hassle so went back to QC35.
Its bizarre given Bose are majority owner by MIT University you would think fixing problems would be a priority

700 for comfort. If you're a fan of Sony then XM4.
I disagree. The xm4s are more spacious than the xm3 and also offer better headband padding. I have traveled with both xm4 and nc700 and I found that the nc700 starts to hurt the crown of my head after 4-5 Hours of wearing
there is definitely more clamping force on the 700.
The QC35 and Sonys are more comfortable than the 700.

Damn that's a nice price - as a QC35 owner for a few years now these are what I've had my eyes on as the successor. I've only listened to these in an airport shop but was very impressed by the sound quality.
