  • Very good surge board & good deal.

  • random combo :P

  • has anyone ever used OneNote?

    • has any student with windows NOT used oneNote. Best thing a student can use

      • I hadn't until recently :), but I'm old enough that I think most of my formal education preceeced it's existence

    • Yeah it can be handy for the research phase of things, makes it easy to cut/paste just about anything into a structured filing system.

    • i have, and its good for notes etc. because of the easy filing and no page limit size (not stuck on A4).
C&P has an automated footer (of the thing you pasted) that links back to where you copied the (thing you pasted).

    • OneNote is brilliant. Even better when you sync notebooks to Skydrive

  • The surge boards are probably worth nothing more than $50, but nevertheless, its still a good deal.

  • If you're a student you can probably get a better deal than this (e.g. Office Professional at http://www.microsoft.com/student/office/en-au/default.aspx for $99 - if you don't need the powerboard). If your work uses Office it may well be able to give you a link to buy a home version for about $9.

    • Agreed. Esp since there's no Outlook

    • I have worked at quite a few places that use Office and have not heard of this. How is it possible?

  • im sure DSE buy the surge boards at a cost of $5

    • Im sure you're wrong

      • yeah $5 was probably for real new - not DSN - dick smith new -although he could have meant $5 HK and stopped prem

    • This is not one of your run-of-the-mil, el cheapo Jackson/HPM surge boards that do absolutely nothing.

Gas Discharge Arrestor, 6 MOVs and 2000 joule rating is more than adequate for an array of computing hardware and/or home theatre equipment.

You'd be looking at $150-300 for a similar spec surge protector from Belkin, Monster, Arlec, APC, etc.
The only thing this surge protector lacks is EMI/Noise Filtering.

The only other brand that are usually this good value are Huntkey.

If I am not a student, is it just as illegal to use this if I downloaded a copy from a torrent site? From what I understand, if you do not meet all the requirements of a certain type of license, that's just as bad as stealing it.

You should not be saying those torrent downloading here.

This "Home & Student" version is just the name of the product. It's just a different bundle of Office products eg. http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/buy/office-2010-which-suit…

It is not an educational or student-only licence so anyone can legally buy it whether they are a student or not.

      • Not quite accurate; anyone can buy it but not just anyone can use it:

        From http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/products/office-2010-frequ…

4/ Are there license restrictions to Office Home and Student 2010?

Yes. Office Home and Student 2010 is licensed only for non-commercial use by households. It cannot be used for any commercial, nonprofit, or revenue-generating activities, by schools or academic institutions, or by any government organization.

6/ I own or work for a small business; can I use Office Home and Student 2010 at my work?
No. Office Home and Student 2010 is licensed only for non-commercial use for members of your household.

  • Just went down and picked up a copy. Good deal :)

  • Hey guys how does this thing work? Do you get 3x sets of keys for the products?

If so, does anyone want to sell a set for $40? You can keep the board.
