    I'd guess about 2-3 kg? I carry it round in a suitcase with other office gear which keeps it mobile. If you're planning to chuck it in a backpack for whatever reason it'd be the heaviest thing in there probably.

  The Wirecutter loves this scanner and it's twin Brother ADS-1250W.

  On the strength of that review I bought one to start scanning invoices/receipts/paperwork and it's excellent - the included software can produce searchable PDFs containing real text, and once you set up Full Auto mode you can literally just drop a wad of paper in and walk away - it'll automatically scan both sides of each page and do the OCR without being touched.
