Or JB HiFi? Got some gift cards I need to use

    • how? these are with a promo code

    • +1

Harvey Norman - definately not, they don't even honour their normal price guarantee from catalogue advertised items

Always claiming an exclusion, below store price, discount too steep etc

  • wasn't this the release price for students?

    • no? 20% off rrp

      • +1

yes looks like mba m1 was cheapest on release with student pricing at $1410 so this is even better.

  • Can you still self upgrade RAMs in M1 Mac MINI? after purchase?

    • +1

Nope, can't upgrade RAM or SSD.

    • +1

Nothing upgradeable. Also now 2 USB-C ports and 2 USB-A ports (also no longer supports external graphics)

  • Damn bought an iPad air at Costco on Sunday.

    • +2

they have 90 days returns policy

  • +1

    Got 1 Mac mini. 20% off…. What a bargain.

    • How much did you pay for it in the end?

      • +1

$879.2. That's after 20%off. I also have $250 eBay gift card I bought before for 10% off. so I end up paid $854.2

  • Just created an account and there is a $600 limit to spend… is that means I cannot buy M1 mac mini?

    • +1

You can pay the remaining upfront and 600 on afterpay

    • +1

It’s a bit confusing but it just means you end up paying more now rather than 4 equal splits. I wish I could just pay it all in one go (it’s linked to my AmEx anyway) which shows I’m really not their target market (but I’m thanking them for this generous discount!).

      • Thanks guys for replying. Bought M1 Mac mini with $870 swap cards + $9.2 using afterpay !!

        • Noob question - How do you buy swap cards?

          • @Skhtor: from the shopback site, they offer 5% discounted swapcards which can be used on eBay

      • In the past, I've just used the deal then paid it off in full same day, just for peace of mind.

For this deal though, I just paid the whole lot with gift card so nil to be applied to afterpay.

        • What sort of gift cards? I though you had to checkout via Afterpay in order to get the 20% off?

          • +1

@bozbargain: buy swap cards through shopback at 5% off then exchange these for ebay. In checkout you choose afterpay, but just apply the cards which can reduce the outstanding amount to nil.

            • @edman: I'm not after a mac but I see something I want from Binglee with this 20% promo and i dont do afterpay (nor do I want to)
What is the link to these swap giftcards on shopback.. all i could find was this - https://www.shopback.com.au/gift-cards#6023607b3908a840a135a…
Can you also buy the exact amount you need rather than rounded 100 dollar figures?

              • @ezza: EDIT: Worked it out… the swap card needs to be purchased from Shopback (not desktop site).
                Got what I wanted… yay :)

                • @ezza: How much was the item? I want to get the Macbook pro but I'm worried about committing to 1.7k in gift cards….

  • Thanks OP Got myself an iPad Air

  • Picked up an iPad Air with 25% off using Swap cards, great deal.

I didn't have to pay with Afterpay. I just did this:

    1. Used the code PAPDY20. 20% off.
    2. Selected Afterpay as the payment option.
    3. Bought a gift card for the exact amount I needed to make the amount payable 0.00 (Macquarie Marketplace, for 2% off, I looked first for Woolies and AGL Rewards first but couldn't find a matching card that would work for Ebay cards).
    4. Confirmed the order

Didn't take me Afterpay and the order went through.

    • +1

nice, find, it seems that as long as the payment method for Afterpay is selected
      the discount code can apply

      • +1

Clever, should have done that as well!

    • so the gift card can be any amount? possible for me to just buy one that is worth 1699?

      • Yes, depends on the provider of gift cards. Some sell fixed amounts (upto $50, $100, $250, $500) and others (like Macquarie) sell you one for any amount with a discount applied.

Since I was going to use it immediately I just went the exact amount route. I didn't want to risk waiting for a gift card (i.e. wait 5 business days) as the 20% off coupon was the win in this deal.

For future I'll look at Suncorp, Wish. Woolies used to work in the past but I think they've removed the 'use gift card to buy another gift card' method.

  • Just picked up S3000 pro for $583.20

  • +1

Any deals on the 16GB models?

  • Bought iPad Air gen 4 64gb for $719
with $710 from eBay GC (via swap card and choice card) which both give 5% cashback
Cost after discount and cashback is ~$683

    Thanks OP!

I am getting "Sorry, we can't process your payment. Please try again, or select a different payment option" when trying to pay with Afterpay, has anyone else received this?

    • +1

I saw this error but I submitted a second time and it worked. Didn't even need to refresh.

    • Nevermind me haha, I haven't used Afterpay in ages and I realised my default card was expired.
I ended up going through the eBay gift card route anyway so didn't need to use Afterpay anyway

  • Question about the giftcard use, If the item I am after is about $780 and the gift card total is $800, is the balance forfeited or available to be spent later in ebay account.

    • +1

The remaining balance is available for use later. It'll show up on the checkout page when you try to checkout next time.

No 16GB RAM model on sale. Oh well, I will just wait for the new 14" MBP with M1x CPU, 16GB RAM, minimum 512GB SSD later this year.

    • Yeah, looking for another 16GB machine, hoping somewhere it will go on sale.
Would like to wait for the 14" but it might not be till the end of the year.

      • Unfortunately 16GB model is build-to-order so have not seen it on sale.

  • Question - I literally just bought a rose gold 16GB RAM 512GB SD M1 Macbook Air off the Education Store with the airpods deal for around $2200. The airpods is maybe what $200 in savings. Meaning it cost me around $2000. I could get the 8GB Ram version for $500 less here. So the question is. Is it worth me returning my macbook air (the box which just arrived today) and the airpods (which I don't really need to be honest). Or do you think I will need the 16GB of RAM.

To be clear the laptop was bought to do photoshop and premiere/FCP works in mind and I was assuming 16GB of RAM would be super helpful. I'm looking to be using this laptop for the next 3 years as well.

    Any thoughts?

    • +2

Personally i think the m1 chips do very well with 8gb and not worth spending $500 for the upgrade. 8gb on a windows laptop is a different story however.

      • Out of curiousity do you think that will be the case with any future updates to the OS or do you thing that 8GB will be reliable for the next 3-5 years?

        • Memory compression. Also shorter travel route between RAM and CPU in M1, which lets data stay for shorter in RAM and hence more efficient.

So unless we are talking about Hi-Res media productivity or other very specific use, 8G of RAM in M1 is not as poor as many think.

        • If you are intending to do 4K video workloads, then keep the 16GB and sell the AirPods

  • Hell Mousey I can't comment today this code is busting me good !

  • Been looking at second hand mac minis for a while, photo handling mainly - asking prices too high for redundant e-waste on Gumtree and similar

Then suddenly - this appears. Why not. Afterpay got their 6% fee from the poor sucker shop, and I paid all remaining payments off immediately

    Thank you OP!

  • Do we know when this expires?

  • Probably didn't need to update to the iPad Air, but the Ozbargain Devil-on-my-shoulder thanks you and whispers about more purchases…

  • there is no Afterpay option in the eBay app am I blind lol

Edit: just realised 512gb is above 2k limit

  • Bought the Mini. Upgrading from an i7 2nd Gen. I hope this is an actual upgrade.

  • anyone have any luck with getting the Macbook pro 512gb for $2300? Seems afterpay not available for any of the apple products over $2000, so discount can't be applied.

  • Bought an air and its delivery date is estimated to be 09 april. Kinda annoying

If you browse through some other listings you can get the same price 1299 using same coupon, with delivery on the 23/march etc etc.

Will ebay allow me to cancel ?

    • Don't know how AusPost has been treating you but in my area they always delivered things way ahead of the ETA even tho it's Parcel Post.

Aramex (formerly Fastway) here sucks. I hope they don't send it via that for me.

      • Dont think that delivery date has anything to do with Auspost ? More to do with like a backorder on the seller end? Could be totally wrong though.

        • In my experience, it does. If sellers sent me sth with Fastway, oh hell it's either just on time or mostly overdue. AusPost has been very nice for me. Plus, with their app I can request a parcel collect in a shop near me instead of having a well-I-am-too-lazy-to-ring-the-bell driver. It can be even faster.

        • Just had a look on their website. Damn you were right.

    ALERT FOR CASHREWARDS USERS!!!

THEY HAVE DECREASED THEIR CHOICE GIFT CARD CB RATE TO 1.5%!!!

    1. Choose AfterPay as payment method
    2. Apply code

Where do I add my ebay gift card?

    • +1

Exactly same place where you apply the code.

  • +1

    BUYER AWARE:

On their website, basic MacBook Air M1 model is "in stock at supplier", which explains the late ETA on eBay. Also, here is their description:

In stock with our supplier. Please note, at the time of your order the stock count should be accurate, however, by the time our supplier processes the order, there’s a chance that the stock is no longer available, in which case we will notify you of an ETA. You may also call us to follow this up.

Which means it could take much longer to receive what you buy.

  • I sat on this for about an hour and then decided to get a MacBook Air with 512GB.

My MacBook Pro Retina 2012 is really starting to struggle and I’ve had 2 strong recommendations from friends about the MacBook Air.

Great discount… better than education and Apple EPP stores.

Very poor form from CashRewards, reducing cashback/discount on the Choice GiftCard from 5.00% to 1.50% tonight

Pissed me off I was enjoying a party of 24% total all the items I could find eligible earlier in the day prior to the change . Next best some places Ebay cards at 3% off . 2% lower not going to stop the party though :)

      • Cross to the dark side for swap cards with ShopBack, 5%

        • Do you mind telling me where I can find the Choice gift card on ShopBack? The one where you can swap for eBay (5%)

  • thats cheaper than the 15% apple refirbs I just bought!?!

  • +1

Pretty amazing deals with this code, just wondering who is going to go bankrupt first, us or ebay/afterpay :)

  • Any budget monitor deals to use with this M1 Mini?

    • Tons of Dell deals these days, mac mini has hdmi so works with most monitors

  • I bought swap cards from shopback and when I try it on swap site to convert into ebay i get error to check first 6 digits of card numbers. Can somebody help?

    • me too, sent swap an email then worked after 30mins

  • i know this is probably obvious but where in the world do you enter the gift card on ebay checkout?

    • when i enter the code where is says Coupons and Giftcards I get an error message.

      • +1

You need to select afterpay as payment (on the right).
enter the promo code PAPDY20 on the bottom
then enter your ebay vouchers (ensuring your voucher over cover the amount you are spending)

        • Now the promo code wont work either [EDIT] seller update the listing while i was trying to pay and removed the other coupon code and added the PADDY20 code to the bottom of the listing. Works again.

        • thanks for you help, got it all worked out, bargain!

  • Anyone know when the afterpay sale ends? couldn't see it in the T&Cs on the ebay banner/details.

  • Are these Australian stock? 2 years warranty?

    • +1

      Yes to both.

  • I’ve have purchased the macbook m1 from this store from the previous deal and still haven’t opened the box.

Do you think it’s worth returning and rebuying with this price? It would save me around $60 and i should have free returns with ebay plus.

    • +1

How much is your time worth?

If you have the time I would do it, $60 is better in my pocket than someone else's.

    • +1

$60 to wait possibly weeks, nah.

    • If you're in Canberra, I'll buy it off you for what you paid :)

  • Saddddd I really want the 512gb

    • Why don’t you just buy it?

      • you can't. no afterpay for items above $2k

        • I think TomGum meant even if it is not on sale, if you really want it, then you buy it.

          • +1

            @edfoo: 😅haha that’s no ozbargain way!

            • +1

              @sauce2k: I can relate. 100%. I'm with you.

  • can anyone confirm swap cards work for this? from shopback?

so i want that 1999(1699) mbp, i should buy 9x200$ cards? and apply all 9 into the coupon field on ebay check out?

    • I recall eBay accepts 8 GCs per order maximum? Could be wrong but be careful.

      • +2

i just had a chat with someone that has exprience in gift cards.

in this case if i am buying 2000$ mbp

        so it is 1700after discount.

i go to Shopback buy 3 x 500$ cards, swap them into ebay cards (even though ebay only sells 200$ cards) why 3 cards, coz ebay only allow 1500$ max giftcard value per transaction.

(from Aus ebay ToC: No more than a total of $1,500 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per transaction, no more than a total of $2,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month.)

so 3x500$ in cards, and pay the remaining 200$ with afterpay.

anyone please correct me if i am wrong.
