Good price. Cheaper than my 65 inch of the same model. Huge difference between TV sound and a sound bar,

  • +2

I posted this in the bigger thread but didn't create a new listing as very low number available (4). Similar with Q60 for $300 more which i went for. Cheapest ever for both i believe

  • Edge lit with no local dimming would be a big reason not to get this.

    • What’s local dimming?

      • Instead of just lighting up from the edge of the tv to improve contrast, there are panels behind the screen to do the same.

      • +1

TVs with backlighting can turn of LEDs behind the display to stop light bleeding and greatly improve contrast ratios.

    • What would a 75" TV with local dimming cost? (I'm really not up with the latest TV's these days =/)

      • -5

        $6,000

      • +2

Hisense 75Q8 has full array local dimming, bought one last week $2,500.

        • +1

          Any motion blur problem?

    • +4

This is an entry level tv though with a price to match. Can’t have everything.

    • Don't think you're going to get anything better at this price point. Not fair to compare to models that'll be at least 40% more

  • Any decent soundbars from this sale that would pair well with this?

  • +1

2021 model out next month if you want to compare, rrp $2259 so should see deals around $1800s month or so after launch

    • I'm interested in seeing the rtings review for the AU8000, TU8000 was okay but nothing special in 2020

  • How does the afterpay thing work? We need to have afterpay account or can just use this code?

    • You'll need to select Afterpay as your payment option and apply the code. If you haven't already got an account, you'll need to set one up.

    • You could instead buy ebay gift cards (at 5% discount from Shopback or Cashrewards), select to pay using AfterPay, then enter the value in your gift cards.
You'll still get the discount and not need to use AfterPay.

      • Link to 5% eBay GC? Just did a search and can't see them for 5% off

      • Can anyone comfirm this works before I buy $1400 in gift cards?

        • I did it but could only find 3% off in gift cards

  • +1

Mixed reviews on Samsung TU8000 vs Hisense S8.

Plenty of options on Hisense 75" S8 at the sweet spot of $1500 retail - $1200 after max $300 Afterpay discount via Ebay.

    Decisions, decisions…

  • got one, i was also waiting.

  • +1

    Oos

    • Why the neg? Good deal, I gave it a +1, but when to buy and it was out of stock… Figured worth noting.

I wont touch any 4k tv with only 60hz

  • +2

It's back in stock! 4 units.

  • Never again Samsung tv they never last

    • +1

My 12 year old plasma is still going strong. But I guess they don't make em like they used to anymore, like alot of things.

    • All 3 of mine died eventually after 5 diff repairs and a refund.
Very happy with my $444 4k 58 inch Aldi one

    • My 2005 Samsung LCD is still going strong. I had to give it away because I was waiting for it to die somI could upgrade, but it just kept going and going…

    • +2

I bought a Sammy about 5 years ago. It lasted a couple of years then went Bang! with white smoke and smell and all that. I can't remember the model number.

  • Who is fitting the cost of this 20 percent off? Seems like alot of crazy offer's.

  • Anyone has comment if this Samsung Series 8 TU8000 better or Hi Sense 85S5?

    Thanks

  • +3

TU8000 is really hated on that 4K TV subreddit, appearently Samsung is riding on “good brand” reputation hoping people won’t notice crap picture quality.

You are supposed to spend some extra and get atleast a Q80T or something.

  • My Samsung 2014 smart tv, 55" has recently got 2 white circles permanently. Kinda annoying one about a bit bigger than a 50c coin always there near top left . Bottom one on right of screen, is bigger and not as obvious. Worth fixing? Any idea of rough cost for tech to come out to sort it? We Like the tv, not ready to drop $1000 plus on upgrade due to other more important purchases. You guys seem to know a lot about this stuff. Looking the other week online and had different ideas so I wasn't sure if it's dead pixels etc? Kinda used to it now not THAT annoying but obviously isn't ideal. Gets used a lot for FTA tv, Netflix , USB movies and Xbox… Cheers all

    • Hey my friends TV got this white circle thing. It was the diffusers on the LED backlight that fell off because they are just hot glued on. He fixed it he is not super handy or careful but you need to know your way around tools, have a clean work area, spare space to lay down the panel.

guide (fix without spending a single rupee!:-

      • thanks silly but too big and awkward to try that myself, happy to do smaller jobs ie pc and laptops myself but i cbf doing all that delicate work on a huge screen rather pay a tech and who knows if that would def would fix it 4 sure anyway? ta tho

  • I bought a 55” using Afterpay for $783 as a tv for my kids to replace their 37” dinosaur. Good bang for buck.

  • +1

I have this tv & the picture quality is not great. Wish I had bought a smaller OLED.

  • I noticed afterpay is everywhere now. Dont they do any credit checks on you/verify who are you via a phone call etc, before you sign up? Seems odd you can sign up to a credit payment system just via the ebay app

  • Any deals on 85" tv?

  • if only the GG had this in stock it would be a steal https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-65-inches-c9-4k-uhd-smart-… at $2374.

  • I've had this TV since last year. It's good. Works awesomely with my PS5. HDR is solid, and everything works flawlessly, no issues at all.

  • Only 2 HDMI input? What the heck?!?

  • +2

Was on ozbargain in the middle of the night and came across this deal. Was hesitant with having to sign up to Afterpay but it was a 1 minute job all within the eBay app so very easy overall and looking forward to replacing my 60" LG.

  • Damn I was just about to buy!
Had it in buy now and everything and then said sold out.

  • I was going to buy the QLED UHK 4K TV for $1,998 ($1,998-$300, only for $1698), unfortunately it sold out after I purchased $1,700 ebay voucher. So I found another ebay store selling this model for $1,775 and I paid $1,475. It's still not bad right? (Spent extra $86 but guess it's still ok?)
BTW, does anyone know what is the different between this model and the QLED one? Thanks in advance

  • Just got mine delivered. It’s a big boy!

  • I’ve noticed price has gone up about $250? Perhaps I’m looking at the wrong thing?

  • received mine with a broken screen, anyone in Perth had any issues?
