As boba Barista's pretty much first customer and a regular ozbargainer I have to say I love the products and they're great quality.

Hopefully boba Barista can become the tech fast of bubble tea here on ozb, with superior delivery time

      First you're there first customer.

Thank you for your feedback, I will update the website to show the size/weight.

Then you go off and update their website…..

        Think its two different people

        • Oh I think your right.. confused me with all the associates.

      • It's my friend's business not mine, I am not boba Barista account.

      • We're not the same person, I, the founder of Boba Barista highly value feedback. Not having size/weight is a very valid reason to update the website. There's still recipes and more things to be added as well.

  • No bargain here. Tapioca Pearls 375g at Woolies for $2.80. For $8.40 you get 1.125kg

different type of tapioca pearls. this one wont work for Bubble tea too well.

      • +1

They types they use in bubble tea you can easily get them in any Asian grocery store, they are around $4 dollars a pack maybe only around 500g though.

Hello, the pearls have you linked are actually closer to "sago" which is used in desserts or to make puddings - Boba Barista's pearls are a different shape, size and also have a brown sugar aroma which is perfect for bubble tea. : )

    • +1

Are those the same? They look quite small in comparison.

    • +2

Have you never had bubble tea pearls? Those supermarket ones would be terrible in a drink

FYI - Sunwide offers 3kgs for $18 with shipping to mel metro around $13. Pickup from Clayton.
    https://sunwide.com.au/collections/tapioca-pearls-agar-pearl…
    10% off first order too.

    • Good prices on this site for bigger quantities, but speaking as a solo bubble tea drinker at home who can only be bothered cooking my own pearls every other week, not everyone wants to buy 4kg of syrup in one go… Hence why I've decided I'll give Boba barista a try instead. Pricing per serve is better than BBT club at least.

Let me just say good luck on the new venture.
DIY bubble tea is in it's infancy in Australia.
It's largely dominated by bubble team club as far as i know.
    Your pricing is better.
    All the best!

Hello Dasher, thank you for the valuable feedback.Sunwide is great for those who can pickup locally. It works out to be $6/kg for pick up or with shipping $10.33 per kg. Currently Boba Barista products are sold at retail - however as we grow, we hope to be able to offer wholesale pricing. We hope to see you there when we get there!

  • I'm more interested in those popping liquid jelly, do you have those? (have not gone to the website to look yet)

NVM, found it. But it doesn't show the size (aka weight, or count)

    • +2

Here's a link where you can find the popping pearls - https://www.bobabarista.com.au/collections/toppings
Don't forget to use "ozb10" for $10 off at check out :)

yeah, found it thanks, but doesn't say (or show in pic) what size or weight

        • +1

Thank you for your feedback, I will update the website to show the size/weight. Popping Pearls currently come in 180g containers. Boba Barista is working on sourcing larger sizes for a better pricing for our customers. :)

Thank you for your feedback. Boba Barista's tapioca pearls are a great alternative for those who do not have access to Asian supermarkets in their area such as those who live rurally + they have a yummy brown sugar aroma!

  • OP, I'm at checkout and get the message 'OZBARGAIN discount code isn't valid for items in my cart. Is the offer for free pearls exhausted?

    • Oh no, it should work! If not, please try this link https://www.bobabarista.com.au/discount/OZBARGAIN?redirect=%…

If the link does not work, you can add the tapioca pearls to your cart and put your ozbargain username in the order notes and I will refund the cost of the pearls for you :)

Got my order a few days ago and pleasantly surprised to find 2x reusable stainless steel straws along with it that I had not ordered. Thanks Boba barista, will be back to buy more next time.

    • Great! What's your fav boba? :)

Placed an order and giving it a go. Support local

  • Cracked the balls bag open, you can definitely smell brown/black sugar. These are quite different from the ones from the Asian grocery stores.

You guys really need to put some instructions on how to cook these balls.

  • Ordered the pearls and brown sugar syrup. Made it up yesterday. Tastes exactly like Gong Cha. Exceeded expectations.

    • Thank you <3
