I can't believe I'm signing up to AfterPay for this :P

  • So very nearly paid $679 for the drive from their store in person. That's a kickass saving.

  • -2
    • That is an 870 Evo - less cashback.

    • +1

The cashback from Samsung on the 870 is only $71 not $246 like the 860.

    • Only $71 cashback on that item

  • Where is the best place to buy Ebay giftcards that send them quickly. I don't want to buy $600 dollars worth of ebay gift cards and wait a few hours to receive them and then the items sold out. Don't want to get stuck with $600 of gift cards.

    • Instant from Shopback (Celebration Swap card)

      • can you pay for them with PayPal because I have cash on PayPal account from a sale.

        • Nope, has to be direct payment with Visa or Mastercard.

          • @wangasm: How do you swap them to ebay. Sorry for the dumb questions

            • @mckayver: They give you a link to your card number details, then you go to https://swapyourgiftcard.com.au to swap it. They then email you your ebay code to use at checkout.
Detailed instructions are also in the comments above.

              • @wangasm: thanks mate.

                • +1

@mckayver: yeah it was almost instant for me, did everything within 5 minutes. I already had a $100 in my shop back account so it was nice. I am pretending I got it $100 cheaper because of it.

                  • +2

@lerkyp: You technically did get it 100 cheaper so no need to pretend. Lol

      • PayPal sell eBay gift cards on PayPal site.

        • +1

Yes but not at a 5% discount like shopback.

          • @wangasm: Oh yeah. I don't really care about the 5% I just want to use my PayPal credit from a sale which I make a decent profit on and because transferring it to bank account will take days.

            • +1

@mckayver: Don't care about 5%? Please hand in your Ozbargain membership :P

              • @wangasm: I know that's OzBargain blasphemy. Lol

                • @mckayver: Anyone have a ebay gift card with 20cents on it that they don't want. My order is $575.20 and I really don't want to buy a extra $25 gift card for 20cents. I'll give you PayPal credit fot it. Pm me

  • This is next level

  • Thanks OP! Picked on up to replace my 2TB Samsung 850 Evo. Price came out to just over $285 with GCs after cashback.

  • On the ebay listing there is a photo of the new Assasins Creed game, is that also a free gift ;D

  • finished already?

  • What is the cashback in the form of?

  • +2

Damn you ozbargain, I was doing so well not buying anything until this week 🤣

    • +1

I know the feeling i now have a new monitor and 4tb ssd because of this afterpay thing.

  • Can it be used in NAS ?

    • +1

Yes, we have 16 of these in our video editing box.

      • who has a big solid state

        • I wish it was bigger

  • Great price

  • Cheers OP. Awesome deal.

  • This deal is so tempting but I just have no use for another SSD in my desktop PC… (already have 5TB of SSD space and 12TB of spinning platters)..

    • I had 2 before this and I think 6 will be enough to see me through to the end of my current PCs lifespan, this price was too good to pass up

  • Thanks op got one. Hopefully no dramas like that other deal where k.s.tech sent out the 870s..

  • Anyone have a ebay gift card with 20cents on it that they don't want. My order is $575.20 for a 5800X and I really don't want to buy a extra $25 gift card for 20cents. I'll give you PayPal credit fot it. Pm me

    • +1

Can't you just pay the 20c on credit card? 😐

      • No. you have to use afterpay for 20% off and for some reason I can't verify identity on the stupid thing.

        • +1

I had the same issue with that today. I googled afterpay and was able to log in that way, then went back into eBay and the issue was resolved.
Edit: it kept giving me an issue I think with my middle names, can't remember what exactly fixed it, but I was using mobile browser and after a few resubmissions on the signup form (identity verification) it worked.

          • @DeToxin: I can login just fine. I can get past name check for government ID.

            • +1

@mckayver: I presume you mean can't, and I had the same issue. The govt verification page might be getting flooded because of the afterpay sales going on. I would try clearing cookies and browsing history and give it a few more tries

              • @DeToxin: I've tried like 20 times in the past 12hrs and from my phone as well. My name is quite common and a feww with the same date of birth. prop why.

                • @mckayver: Bummer 😑 well I wish I could help you out but I don't have any GCs sorry

  • +1

Ordered one using the Swap giftcard method. Worked perfectly. Now just waiting for the tax invoice and the actual SSD itself to arrive.

  • damn just missed it - any other similar deals?

  • Yikes and Darn, I also missed this as now they are out of stock.

Kicking myself as I know I had the chance but I was getting on a plane to take a trip and land, sleep, wake up and Poof, gone!

Please shout out OzBrgners should another or similar appear.

  • +1

Let us know if you actually get 860 evo.
Hard to believe they have over 200 in stock.

  • I found a very similar deal but am I unsure whether or not PCcasegear Ebay invoice their receipts under their normal business name to make it eligible for the cashback. Can someone clarify this?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/233527338065

860 EVO 4tb at $729 compared to this at $699.

    • Try the afterpay coupon, it didn't work for me.

      • Yeah, looks like not eligible for the coupon.

  • 860 Confirmed! Could have used shopback gift cards but didn't want unwanted giftcards if this deal turned out to be a dud like the last 860 (received 870s instead from shallothead/k.s computing/shopping express) evo deal.

    Also shopback is dodge lol

    • Yep i got my 860 also and the paper tax invoice was attached with the parcel.

  • Are you receiving electronic tax invoice or only paper?

    • I haven't received the electronic tax invoice but if you require that then contact them via eBay and they should be able to send it to you.

  • Just received my SSD and submitted the claim.

  • same received 860 evo 4tb with paper receipt no electronic receipt.
It does mention ebay on the billing and shipping section, hopefully won't be a problem.

  • My order just shipped today. I asked them on eBay and they sent me a digital invoice.

  • +1

Can also confirm mine was an 860 EVO - got both a physical and digital copy of the receipt

    • Thanks for confirming.

Mine arrived today and had already opened and put the packaging in the bin.

After reading your comment, I was thinking "What - there was no invoice inside the packaging", and prompted me to fish the packaging out of the bin (thankfully it was just on top) to check again and yep, it was in the plastic sleeve on the back of the package.

      • +1

Would recommend you sending them a message on eBay and asking for a digital invoice for safekeeping though!

  • Received mine today.
    Tried to lodge claim…
My 860 evo only has 14 digits SN but the redemption page requires 15 digits SN.
    Anyone on the same boat?

    • +4

There's an additional character at the end of the SN on the SSD's label (ie. you have to open the box)

      • TA…

      • I wish I had known this before I put the case back together.. lol

Just going to try all alphanumeric options at the end now.

  • They cancelled my order due to not having enough stock to fufill the order… note to self, never by from these guys again if they cant even properly set how many units of an item they have on Ebay.

    • Same thing here.
They contacted me on Sat and offered to replace the order with an 1tb modol and pay a partially refund. I said yes becasue eventhough it was not the best deal on eaby atm, I really needed a new ssd and wanted to get out of this oos shit.
It turned out I was being optimistic. Today they called me again, claiming they cant make a partially refund, so I have to pay them $169 in full before they can give me full refund, which is obviously unacceptable.
Right now the best outcome for me is having nothing but a bunch of ebay giftcards and still need to look for a good ssd deal.

  • Price increased to $699 but with PLUSSS1 brings it down to $649. After $246 cashback total cost is $403. Is this a good deal? Centrecom has the drive listed at $705.

I suppose can also take off 5% using shopback GC so the price would be $616.55 after eBay plus code and after $246 cashback $370.55. Still almost $60 more than the original deal, need to find further savings somehow. Hopefully we get another big discount code before the end of the month so still eligible for cashback.

    • Doesn't compute with what the poster above you said

    • How do you get it for $403? It's OOS. Or is it another seller?

  • How long till cashback gets approved? Don't want to use the ssd until it gets approved

    • I did 3 last year and they all took 3 months.

Why wouldn't you use the SSD during the wait ?! It's yours to use !

      • Incase if I have to return it, if it doesn't get approved

        • But you have to open it to get the full serial number. It's risky these cashback things so I didn't go for it.

        • You won't be able to return it after 3 months if the cashback doesn't get approved…

  • Oh man, sorry to hear about those who never got their orders, especially after making an order via ebay.

I already think I am suffering from Non Buying Remorse when I had the chance so for those who actually bought and then got done over I think it really stinks and they should honor their mistakes to learn from them as misleading people is psychological abuse imo.

Any how, I hope another deal on 4TB Evo's come around again in the coming months. Fingers crossed and another Ozbargain wish I guess :)

  • My drive should be arriving today or tomorrow.

To be safe with cashback are you guys asking the store to provide another invoice without Ebay being mentioned on it to save any potential cashback issues.

    • +1

Yes I asked for an electronic invoice to my personal email via a ebay message and they sent me one within 30mins. I used this to put my claim in with Samsung and just its just waiting for the money.

      • so was yours approved and now you're waiting for the money?

        • It says its with the product manager for approval in the Samsung System. Someone must have to look at the pictures of the S/N and the receipt and then manually approve.

  • For anyone that already put their SSD in their case before writing down the full serial (Box is only 14 digits, whereas on device it has the 15 needed).
You can use Samsung Magician Software to get the full serial number.

  • Anyone know the retailer to put down for the cashback? Thanks :)

      Budget PC

      • Thanks dude!

  • +2

Claim got updated with "Validation Completed" about 24 hours after I submitted the claim.

    • Good to hear i sent in my claim about an hour ago since my ssd arrived today

    • Have you received your cashback yet? Mines still on "Validation Completed"

Couldn't find in their T&C the timeframe to receive the cashback either…

      • I did 3 last year and they all took about 3 months.

        • Thanks for responding, much appreciated

  • I asked the seller to send me a receipt with no Ebay written on it. They replied it is no problem to claim. If any problems to contact them.

    • I submitted my invoice which mentioned eBay and I got "Validation Completed" so it should be alright. Messaged them about it like you did and got the same reply.

  • Anybody got their cash back yet?

    • +1

Nope, submitted on 22nd March, still on "Validation Completed". Some other people on other threads said theirs took at least 6 weeks.

      • Thanks. Its getting to the 6 week time mark as I submitted at a similar time and I'm guessing this one may take longer as they have more cashback claims to work though.
