Good find! In case anyone was interested in the i5/256GB version, it comes to $891.20 after the same coupon - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Lenovo-81X1002FAU-IdeaPad-Fl…

    • Probably worth the extra money to get the i5 with the bigger ssd.

Guess it depends on the use-case, the i3 would probably be a good choice if you weren't going to multitask that much and mostly word processing. Otherwise the i5 is a great all-rounder. Like OP said - shame there aren't a lot of the Ryzen ones going around!

Amazon US had the ryzen 4500U version for $870, I think the RRP pricing in Aus was $1200 same as i5 but better battery and performance.

Ideally I would have grabbed that one with afterpay discount but sadly it's out of stock everywhere :(

  • How's the screen? 250 nits? Can't find any information

  • Any reviews on the thermals ofor the i3/i5 models? Could only find info on the amd version,

  • Charging the laptop via usb c pd possible here ?

    • What's In The Box:

IdeaPad Flex 5 14IIL Notebook; Power Charger; Warranty Card; Quick Start Guide; Product Brief

      So, it's a no

    • +1

      Yes

I have the AMD Ryzen 5 version and it came bundled with the USB C charger.

Different model. This one is i3 version.

        EDIT:

Looks like the i3 version also supports usb c charging as per Techradar:

The supplied charger is a barrel type rather than USB-C despite the fact that the Flex 5 has a USB-C port that supports charging

        • +2

Check my link. According to Lenovo, USB C charger is compatible with that model. Flex 5 can be charged using USB C or barrel.

          • +1

@trex: Thanks for clarifying this as it is never clear cut when there is a barel port as well as usb C port

( have to check usb c spec which can be elusive at times ).

          • @trex: This is actually quite useful where you need to free the usb c for fast data transfer you can charge the laptop with the barrel power adapter

          • @trex: How good is the screen? Is it 250 nits or higher?

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: According to this article it is max 250 nits. To me, the screen is bright and very comfortable to work with. I usually set the brightness to 40% or lower. Anything too bright just reduces the battery time and gives too much glare.

I like the Flex 5 alot. Find it very handy to use in tablet mode. My Flex 5 (AMD version) came with an active pen. Watch the videos on youtube for Flex 5 review.

    Soldered RAM and storage?

    • Wondering too.

      • In this Flex 5 (AMD), RAM is soldered. I don't believe storage is soldered since it's a NVMe SSD.
