So is afterpay some type of payment scam? I dont get it.
is it only late fees you have to watch out for? and how do you have late fees if you link it to a credit card (that's not already max'd out)?

Yeah, I don't get how this business model can make enough money to be sustainable either. I mean it helps the customer if they don't want to pay for something up front, but I guess we are not the target audience. I used it to buy a few things from this sale but immediately paid for everything. So I guess they make nothing from me? Or maybe they get a percentage of the sale if you pay with Afterpay? Don't know

      • Yes. They get a portion of the sale price from the merchants. The benefit for the merchants is tha increased customer and sales they geberate with a service like afterpay.

Also if a buyer cannot pay their monthly repayments then their intrest is capped at a certain price. So it helps buyers.

I used to be a shareholder of afterpay. It is a fantastic well run company.

Disagree. It promote borrowing for poor people.
I mean if you can't afford $300 then maybe you better off save that amount for rainy days not spending it because of installments

I bought the refurb xm3's last year, worked for a couple of weeks and the touchpad malfunctioned, sent it in for a replacement and the replacement has been working without a hitch since then.

Received mine today. First impressions: looks brand new.

    • Requested return for static noise on the left earcup!

      • So it's your choice of return or replacement?

        • +1

I want a replacement, not sure if they refund or not.

Received the wireless NC buds today. Contents look new although probably repacked as there are a couple of stickers on the box. Work perfectly, great sound. Bargain at $128.

  • Anyone recieved their WH XM3s yet?

Mine is still sitting as paid and nothing has changed. Hasn't even shipped yet.

Yes arrived today. Ordered on the 21st. Metro Melbourne.

Mine arrived today - box seemed as new, although as if it had been laying on a shelf somewhere (slight grey discolouration)

Inside looked brand new - no specs of dust, fprints, etc on the headphones or even the case

all accessories included- manual, etc as well.

They are currently charging - I can update if there's anyone interested :D

  • rec'd xm3, very nice. cant beat them for $129.
suspect they may be end of model runouts more so than seconds, could be wrong. The model was released in July 2019.

Received my xm3 Sony WF1000XM3S (Seconds^) WF-1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Headphones (Black) today, no blemishes or signs of use. cannot tell they are refurbs except for the sticky tape over the outside of the box. perfect. Thanks OP

    • My experience so far is identical to yours, as new for the WH-XM3b.

One things that's shitting me to tears though, my old plantronics backbeat go 810 allowed me to simultaneously connect to 2 devices, and which ever one started playing something last would cut in and take over, so if a call was coming in on my phone it would cut the sound from the PC, I could take the call, and then revert back to the PC music later (once I unpaused).

With these however, it seems to me that if I connect to my PC, it disconnects from my phone. This can't be right for a pair of headphones that cost this much from a leading brand that was released at the end of 2018 can it? To make matters worse, if I'm paired to my PC and want to get onto my (Sony) phone to pick up a call, when I press on the xm3 bluetooth profile it doesn't take over.

      • Only the wh1000xm4 do that.

Wf1000xm3 doesn’t have this feature neither

        • Oh well, will be selling or returning them I guess :-(

          They do sounds amazing though

  • Received WF-1000XM3 earphones today – as a couple of others have said, there was tape on the box, and it was shipped with a box with 'repacked' tape on it.
Seems in good condition, albeit with a slight blemish on the charging case edge near where you open it.
While they sound great, they've unfortunately been randomly disconnecting on me all day, even after installing the latest firmware and doing hard resets on them.
Looks like it's back to the Sony support team tomorrow and my cheapie Tranya buds that were working flawlessly :/

    • Unfortunately unlike Apple it seems there is not enough QC on Sony’s refurbished line of products.

  • The left ear piece of my Sony WF1000XM3S keeps dropping out. Not sure if any experiencing the same.

For me, it is a scratching noise on the left side and Sony is terrible at dealing with. Waiting 3 days for their return authorization.

      • My WH-1000XM3 is on the right side driver. Scratching noise happens after maybe 1 to 1.5 hours listening. Unbearable.

Also, in ANC mode there is low level constant rustling noise. Wonder you guys experience similar issue?

Battery leak about 5% when the phone is off. Terrible.

I really like the sound and ANC effect. But if the above issues are common, I'll have to just return it.

        • Today I received a return label from eBay Sony, but interestingly the scratching/rustling noise has stopped and has not come back despite using them for 5-6 hours. Not sure if I should return or keep them.

  • Finally have time to play with the WH-1000XM4 via bluetooth with my foobar under windows.
The sound signature is rather bassy. There is significant improvement with these setting if you have an equilizer plugin. However it is still sound horrible compare to my focal clear/elear :)

You can also use Equalizer APO to do this.
