This is a damn good deal.

This sounds more like a sex toy LOL

    • +5

How does this compare to the 240 Volt FukMaster Pro 5000 blowup latex doll?

    • +10

Do you step in your car, look ahead and down and think you're stepping into a giant sex toy?

EDIT: Thrustmaster. I'm the idiot here. How do I report my own comment.

Just came to see Thrustmaster jokes 😂

    I've got the T150 Pro (PS4 version).

Functionally, no complaints - really smooth turning wheel, good force feedback, can't fault it.

A bit of rubber on the left middle-top side of the wheel faded pretty quickly and deformed on mine, but wrapping some electrical tape around it was a cheap & easy fix.

Personally, I wish the wheel wasn't so thin to grip - I think the G29/G920 has a bit more wheel to grab so feels better.

Pretty good deal! Why would you get this over a G29/G920? For the Thrustmaster gear shifter.

    • +1

So in the end you recommend it? I mean for a force back sounds fine, i won't be wearing out any grips.
Just having fun every now and then.
      Worrh it?

If you were already in the market for a G29/G920/TMX Pro/T150 Pro, then you can't go wrong at $288.

If you're like me and get bored with it after a handful of uses, and therefore still can't justify $288, I've seen these wheels go for as low as $150 second hand.

Because we can't all afford Ferraris in real life, so we can crash them inside a racing sim instead.

      • -7

ok fair point I suppose….not everyone on here are on 300k+ salary…..

    • +13

      Great advice!

I will now go buy myself an A380 to experience the real deal instead of this synthetic MSFS junk…

    • +3

Buying a real wheel & the mount for it and the hydraulic handbrake etc costs thousands of dollars. Pretty high barrier for entry for casual players. Besides, this deal is aimed at arcade racers since it's for xbox you'd use it for Forza, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa rather than any simulation style game. Nobody is playing those and expecting simulation grade realistic physics.

In most race cars they use sequential shifter so pedal shifting isn't too far off the real thing, this at least has a clutch pedal.

When games are classified as simulation, you would expect them to be 100% accurate because they are a simulation of the actual thing. Otherwise it's false advertising or just drop the sim genre and replace with arcade or just racing/flying, since it's not technically simulation then. If you say Assetto Corsa is not a sim game despite being advertised as a sim game with sim like customization and configuration and real life equivalent tracks ingame, then I don't know what is anymore…. Same goes for the forza series and I don't know about Project Cars since I've never played it so can't personally comment about it, but played a few other "sim" genre games like Need For Speed Prostreet, Shift, and Shift 2: Unleashed.

      You're a nut

        You're a nut

  • +1

Tempting but already have the Logitech hmmmm. To Thrust or not to Thrust that is the question.

    • +1

I'd recommend sticking with what you have, and invest in a load cell mod for the brakes instead. Made a huge difference for me.

The problem with comparing this to a track day event is that the event for a single day would invariably cost more than this wheel setup.

I used to do track days before I was married and besides the expense of running a high performance car you then had the expense of paying for track day fees, the price of getting there, ie. eastern creek, oran park, wakefield then you might burn an entire tank of petrol on the track and then you would note the cost of brake pads, oil changes, tyres after.

And you're still just driving fast on a track by yourself, ie. not real racing.

So really anyone who compares simulation to track days is a moron, noted by those downvotes.

$288 is about as low as you get for a current ffb wheel.

So really anyone who compares simulation to track days is a moron, noted by those downvotes.

Then why do these "sim" games have the exact same tracks you would race or "drive really fast" on, mmmmmh? If it's not equivalent, then they should just open up the game to open world and have them be able to drive their cars anywhere other than on a track…..

And you're still just driving fast on a track by yourself, ie. not real racing.

so whats considered real racing then? illegal street races? or is that also classified as "driving really fast by yourself" or with others?

Dude, your previous comments above have been downvoted to oblivion - but instead of retracting, you're doubling down.

        🤦‍♂️

        • -2

Why would I retract? Am I not allowed freedom of speech? Do you want to silence me? I would only retract once (or if) I see the errors of my way….which frankly I have not yet.

The T150 (PS4 version) is also $288 if anyone is interested

So is this better than the Logictech G29 ones?

    • +1

Logitech is Ebay plus whereas Thrustmaster is Amazon Prime.

      • +1

I just mean from a product perspective, what's better?

        • -4

Do you prefer eBay Plus or Amazon Prime? Therein lies the answer.

        • +4

Get the t300 instead. It's much better than the Logitech's or this one. I had t300rs for a while, before moving on to the csl elite. Been playing ACC for over a year.

    • +3

      Both have pro's and cons…
Logitech generally have a FFB deadzone in the center..

Both have fairly large drawbacks anf fairly equal. Especially on build quality. IMHO just get whatevers cheaper.
I've seen both wheels have thier clamps fail within 2 years of purchase.
Logitech gaming software is a very big nuisance to most of the G29 users though with it adjusting settings midgame etc.

      • Might want to check whether the G29 works with Logitech Profiler? Still works brilliantly with the G27 (though given LGS doesn't recognise the G27 you may be out of luck).

      • I’ve been using a G27 regularly for years and have only just had a encoder fail and fixed with a washer and some super glue. I have tipped money into the motion side of a system and invested in a 3dof. Will update mid year to a CSL or direct drive. Also addressing another center dead zone comment I found a software hack for that. But it was only on ACC I found that.

  • Still with the G27. Hoping I can get it to work with the PS5. Such a waste to continue upgrading a wheel.

    • It does seem ridiculous and a waste. Even the G923 wheel is essentially basically the same as the G25, G27, G29, G920 besides some more vibration feedback. Each have licensing for newer/different platforms but the torque and motor is essentially the same over 15 years.
G27 was great but I had quite a few issues getting it to work with my pc as you couldn't install the latest logitech software. Loved the LEDs on the G27 for showing revs.
Seems only G29 is PS5 compatible.

      • +1

I searched around, found a forum that had users bypassing authentication by plugging in a HORI PS4 mini controller to get it to work with the PS5, but you need the hub. So $200 to get it to work lol

      • +2

You should be able to install the latest Logitech Software, it just doesn't recognise the Wheel.

It is a problem with Logitech recently though. I am now running:

Logitech Gaming Software (for G930 headset)
Logitech G Hub (for G910 and G502 Lightspeed)
        Logitech Profiler (for G27)

It's getting a bit ridiculous. Also judging by IronOrchard's comment above, you may be better off with Profiler anyway (which may not be possible with the G29?).

  • What is the story with lack of cross platform compatibility when it comes to wheels and consoles? Is it purely the "we can sell them two wheels" factor or is there something else at play that makes it much too complex to create a cross platform wheel?

    • +2

Licensing, I assume. I've seen it with sticks for fighting games too.

  • +2

LOL at the TH8A shifter @$399.. Whilst the main unit costs $288 with pedals.

  • Anyone can recommend a frame for the wheel? Thanks
