Is it worth getting the mini at that price?

    • The drone is not as good as Mini 2
      But well worth the price

      • For the price it’ll be good… but it you want 4k and the other fancy features and have the extra cash…. get the mini 2

      • +1

The biggest difference between the two drones is range (occusync 2.0) and the additional power (useful in windy conditions).

If those aren't needed, then it's worth saving the money and getting gen 1.

If you're planning on flying at a distance in the city, or extreme range in the country/coasts, in marginal conditions, or 4K. Then mini 2.

    • +18

At half the price of a mavic mini 2, i think its well worth it. Flight time and form factor is almost identicle. The mini 2 is 4k and the transmission range is apprantly 10km (mini is 4km) but honestly if you're flying it 10km…chances are its a one way trip anyway.

      • +1

Do you get a controller with this mini or is that only with the fly more combo?

        • +2

Controller is included. This is a great price. Mavic Mini really holds its own, your biggest limitation will be the battery life without spares

    • +2

As I've argued in the past, if your aim is to simply share some quick drone snaps with some friends on social media, end result in more/less the same between MIni 1/2 so yes its a good deal.

      • Have you tried the Litchi, or any other apps, that offer the additional follow me mode for the Mini?

        • +1

I’ve used Litchi. Great for way points automation.

          • @nightelves: Tossing up between mini + Litchi or something like a Xiaomi Fimi X8. Does Litchi do anything else well that is not included in the DJI app for the Mini?

            • +1

@SwarleyAUS: Have used Dji go app but Litchi allows you to customise the speed, height, which way the drone is facing, gimbal angle at each waypoint.

  • +3

Yes more wipes :)) only 4 pack this time tho

    • How quickly did it sell out last time? Might give it a go if it lasts for at least a few minutes.

      • +3

Lasted ages last time (by ebay fire sale standards), think i got some at about the 10-15 min mark from it starting

        • Yup but they had many more products last time too so I'm guessing it would go for a similar period this time despite the increased quantity of 2000.

    • +2

Yep. Use to be the 10pck

    • +4

I've still got several packs left from the deal over a year ago. Amazing how long they last you if you don't have a baby/.

      • +1

Unfortunately OzB can't help you with getting a baby.

    • Got excited and thought it was same deal as before. Nope, instead of 10 packs, it's 4.bg downgrade.

      • Powerbank was also 10x more expensive than last time, what a rip off.

I wonder whether people realize that when they leave $1 in a trolley, that they could have gotten 112 baby wipes with that (incl. delivery).. of course 560 baby wipes would have been better. That's probably why they leave the trolley in the middle of the car park nowadays, $1 doesn't get you that much anymore.

Series 3 is getting pretty old now, come on eBay throw some new stocks

    • +2

Assuming its the 38mm RRP is $299, so saving 33% off RRP is alright. That said I'm sure you could find a way you get it for ~$250 most weeks. ~$50 saving isn't as exciting

    • Agree that Series 3 is pretty old
But for $199 I would say its still a great price
Functions wise Apple Watch S3 is still way better than most other smart watches with similar price range ($200 mark)

Also note that for any iphone users
Apple next iOS release 14.5 will include unlock phone using Apple watch
it will be very handy for those who need to wear a mask and unlock their phone

      • +3

Have people with iPhones forgotten how to use pin codes and must now resort to smartwatches?

        • It's for convenience mate

      • +2

I can vouch for its longevity, 'been using S3 since it was released, still working as good as the first day. Can't see the need to upgrade till they enable ECG on the new series.
For those unaware, you can unlock your Macbook while wearing the watch (except after booting up the Mac).

        • That squarish screen though…

          • +2

@bozbargain: That neg must come from someone who hasn't seen the S4 or newer models. The level of bezel on the S1-S3 Apple Watches is not only aesthetically unpleasing, it really limits the % of display you're getting.

      • Hows the battery life on the s3 ?

        • Should last a whole day. I charge it every night.

  • -4

Woohoo more wipes to join my pile of em . Tks Mousey :)

  • +16

Get the wipes and the drone together, when you crash the drone in the ocean, the wipes may come in handy

    • lol'd

    • As in: you'll have some pants to clean once you shit them.

    • Are we allow to get 2 items or either one of them?

  • +6

Looks like the electric toothbrush is this model.

    CrossAction Power.

  • -8

How come these eBay plus tuesday deals that sell out in 1-2 minutes due to extremely limited stock are allowed to be posted as deals every week?

    • not every product but.

    • +2

      'Cos freedom.

    • +3

Because you can go and buy them if you want the items?
      This isn't Oz-only-post-deals-available-all-week.
I haven't had any trouble buying the things I have wanted except for those airpod deals.

    • Well obviously some people (>10) buy them, right?

    • +2

LOL i've gotten so many of these deals - including the cheap airpods that sell out extremely quick.

If they weren't posted I wouldn't have known.

Just because some miss out doesn't mean it shouldn't be posted.

On that note should we stop posting aldi special buys because only about 2 people get them who queue early ?

      logic

    • That's only true for "hot" items like the AirPods or Nintendo Switch (console/games).

    • Because they're usually not hard to get if you show up at the right time. Unless you're buying the Apple Watch or something.

  • Better deal than last week, come on, Amazon, your move, please.

Really like to get a drone, but is there any place in metropolitan city you can fly drone legally?

    • +9

      Opensky.wing.com

  • What is the cheapest price for a DJI Mavic Mini Drone? A quick Google search shows $545 so $299 is a pretty good deal.

    • It is. It's a good drone to start with. The improvement in the resolution is great but for fun among friends and family, 2.7K does the job. Legally we're not allowed to fly beyond the distance we can visually observe the drone and most of us would barely fly beyond the 4km range.

    • +1

TGG are doing it for $449 unless I've got the wrong model. Regardless, $299 is a great price.

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dji-mavic-mini-drone-djimavic…

      • Great fine. Thanks. Yeah the price is still so good I am thinking of trying to get one.

      • +2

Use code MAR15 takes it down to $381.65

  • which sellers?

  • Any reviews about the finish tablets.

    • +5

      They clean dishes

      • +1

Thanks for letting me know what it is used for.
But I asked for any reviews?

        • +1

It depends on your dishwasher, I don't have any issues with any tablets, some dishwashers leave residue with specific tablets, you just need to try them yourself and find out.

I think ALDI has their logix rinse aid for cheap, $2, might want to get that and give these finish a go.

          • +1

@TEER3X: Thanks TEER3X. Appreciate your time.

    • +1

All dishwasher tablets are worse than regular powder detergent.

TLDR: Because of the way dishwashers release their detergent in two steps across the pre rinse and primary wash, tablets "waste" the pre rinse cycle and don't allow the dishwasher to properly remove fats and lipids from dishes across the entire duration of the wash as designed by the manufacturer.

  • +1

Sad days, only interested in the wipes

    • +1

      Enjoy the babies..?

      • Sometimes lol

  • +11

Retail price comparisons of the first 3 items.

    224 Baby wipes $20 (amazon)
220 Classic Tablets $34 (Chemist Warehouse)
AA Battery Oral B Toothbrush $ $16 (Chemist Warehouse)

  • Is it worth signing up to Plus just for a chance at the Mini… How quickly do 500 units of a hot product disappear?

    • +2

    • Is it worth signing up to Plus just for a chance at the Mini

      Get a free trial.

How quickly do 500 units of a hot product disappear?

The Airpod deals sold out within 30 seconds.

The 1000 Switch consoles took 3 minutes.

I'm guessing you'd be in with a fighting chance if you already have a credit card saved to file.

    • Like @ash2000 said.

Buy a (random) $1 item first with your CC (not PayPal) - this will allow you to add (and verify) your CC with ebay.
Next purchase, you're good to go and won't have to verify your CC anymore.

With higher value items - you've got more of a fighting chance.
(Unless it's apple related or you have ebay messing around with the listing like last week - but that was a one off to practically give the sneakers away to a certain group of people.)

  • -1

Is this still a competition or will they have enough stock this time?

    • When did they not have enough stocks? It's usually listed upfront.

      • Some ebay plus sale items have been gone in less than a minute. If your internet and device isn't fast enough, you miss out. Thats why its sort of like a competition.

        • Can you hit buy and then put your card details in with high demand items or would you need to have the card details already saved to your account?

        • If you're going for the Apple Watch or something ultra-popular like that, you're likely to find it sells out super quickly, yes.

But there's definitely bargains to be had, that stick around for a reasonable while, in my experience.

    • Yes it’ll be a wipeout.

  • +1

    No need for ebay plus?

    Edit:yes need ebay plus

  • Can I buy one item at 10am and then another at 4pm? Or is it just one offer per person?

    • +4

It will all depend on whether each item has a different code (historically, there has been one code for each item):

      1. For each person, there is a limit of 1 transaction per redemption code. One item can be purchased per transaction.
      • +1

*been one code for each release time

        • Yup sorry you are correct, the codes are per scheduled "batches" i.e. one for 10am, one for 4pm etc.

    • Oh okay. Thanks! Not risking Apple Watch (if I manage to grab one) for the baby wipes.

      • Might be academic now anyway, but for future reference bear in mind your chance of getting something like the Apple Watch is probably a lot lower than the wipes/tablets/etc.

The former will probably be around for half a minute if that - the latter, likely 15 minutes or more.

        • You are right! Good thing is that by giving up $1 wipes, I managed to grab $5 powerbank.

Now, let see if I can make it to have iWatch within 30 seconds.

        • @mattythecapybara Was able to manage Apple Watch @ $199 using Afterpay which is still cheaper than many retailers. :)

  • Will the links appear on OzB first or on eBay?
