    Sounds like a scam…

i thought it was a scam, but it was sent from [email protected] which is also the email address they use to send monthly statement. the email also has my full name with no spelling mistakes or inconsistencies, so it's legit.

      • FYI email spoofing is commonly used to falsify where an email came from.

    • I also thought it was a scam but I didn't need to type in anything. 3 mouse clicks and it was all done.

No offense to OP but I am negging this deal as I have had experience with this "Reward" scam. I got a similar 'reward' from Paypal a couple of years ago and they put me into this endless loop where it could be redeemed only with a handful of retailers, and none would accept the reward at 'that time'.

Well, looks like this deal is not the same as your deal. This one can be used as credit and even transferred to a friend. Cheers

        That's good to know.

Now that you know, maybe you should cancel that neg. ;-)

    • Not a worthy neg.

After changing to the eBay payments system (not by choice) I see no reason to have PayPal now sadly.
Sales money going directly to my bank account and PayPal feels like a dead platform for my uses

    • +2

Only time i used it is to pay via AMEX, otherwise i agree, it's pretty much dead.

Same… When they close this loophole, it will die…

        • Yeah, right!

What platform will replace PayPal, and will offer buyer protection for 6 months?
I would genuinely like to know so that I can switch over like all the cool kids (e.g. jv).

    • Except it takes 2 days for the ebay money to reach my account vs instantly with paypal. Could still use it to pay Sydney water to avoid fees on cc

Caution on this. Recently I got an offer to download the app. Be one first X amount which was a large number.
Did it and what you know ever got paid. Questioned them and they said I'd I qualify I would have got the credit. Were of no other help. Couldn't tell me how many people qualified etc

Also had horrible experience with PayPal trying to dispute a fraudulent transaction, they sided with the scammer without any evidence on their side (paid goods and services so was meant to be covered), no avenue to challenge or escalate, or any answers from them, they just closed case. luckily was $30 only but left a bitter taste on PayPal as a company.
Happy to watch them hopefully die now that eBay cut ties.

  • How do you contact Paypal by email or phone?

i.e. without logging into a Paypal account..

    • Just confirmed with Customer Support that is a legitimate promotion. https://ibb.co/2jWtjRM

how did you contact them without logging in?

      • OP have you received the $10? It’s been more than 72 hours

        • +1

I haven't either. Starting to think it might be a scam after all.

  • Was on one of my alt accounts, cheers.

Though after reading all these horror stories I'm reluctant to even try and redeem it :S

    • all these horror stories

Are you saying no to free money? 😱

      • I misread the offer and replies, I thought this was similar to the Amex/Combank/shopback system of needing to hope for the claim after a purchase.
I did click the claim button, just waiting 'up to 72 hrs' for it now :P

  • Wow PayPal Australia is more generous than PayPal US. I only got this with my PayPal US account and they only offered $3USD

  • Has anyone got this PayPal offer?

When was your last PayPal transaction? They obviously target people who don't use it much.
