  • Aren’t they usually 12 month contracts?

    • +1

seems not. Just added the T & C's to the details

    • +4

Foxtel Now (streaming service) is month to month.

Orignal Foxtel with IQ box (satellite dish) is normally a contract for a few months.

  • +12

is this the start of the end of Foxtel?

    • +36

haha. probably. $25 is what it should be for all those channels, all the time, given the amount of ads foxtel has these days. Seems ludicrous to charge $104 per month, when they have all the advertising revenue. The only thing they have you really cant see elsewhere for say $10 a month, is sport.

And most channels are just re runs, after re runs, after re runs.

      • kayo covers all their sport

      • -2

Isn't sport much better when you play rather than watching others play & make money, while you lose them (doing nothing productive;).
I would not pay Murdoch anything when there are so many other ways to enjoy life & be free of Fake News.

        • Most people watch sport (on a screen) during their R&R

    • +7

We can only hope. Murdoch played his part in crippling the NBN and now charges almost as much for you to use your data to stream channels, compared to the traditional set top box setup.

    • One can only hope it's the end of Foxtel/Murdoch ;)

      • +2

The worst part is the ScoMo govt paying 40M bucks to fox to cover the women's sport that we can't even watch without paying subscription. It's just payment for favourable media coverage of the Libs, even blind Freddy could see that

        • +1

Yep, that is crazy, giving a pay tv company money to broadcast a sport that less than one third of the population subscribe to. I smell a rat.

  • Watch on a smartphone, tablet or laptop on the couch at home. With the option to register up to 5 devices and use 2 at the same time.

I believe if you have Android TV, you should be able to download the app and stream from there.

  • +7

I've had loads of free trials of this, the content just isnt there for me vs other platforms like Netflix and Disney Plus - not to mention half the cost of these.

I guess if you like sport this is a good deal, but Foxtel really hasnt caught up with the joneses IMHO.

  • +2

"$104 per month on the 4th month" … and I thought getting netflix was expensive (for the amount I watch it)

    • Add to that the amount of advertising on foxtel too…………………makes netflix look super cheap ! I only subscribe to netflix when there's something I want to watch, then cancel.

      • +5

Add to that the amount of advertising on foxtel

I only have it for the ads…

        • +6

I thought it was just me that pays the $104 a month to watch the non stop ads. That reminds me, I need to talk to my other half about life insurance

          • @Iwantthebestprice:

I need to talk to my other half about life insurance

I love the acting in that ad.
Is there a way to nominate them for an award?

            • +2

@jv: Everytime that ad pops up I think to myself how are they going to bring it up this time, at the dinner table? sitting in traffic? cooking dinner, nope it's why the kids play in the backyard having a great time - my second cousin twice removed died and got me thinking, should we get life insurance? WHAT ABOUT THE KIDS!

          • +1

@Iwantthebestprice: For those just into AFR & NRL, why not just use their sports service Kayo? I really don't see the point of the traditional Foxtel service now.
Having "pay-TV channels" really is a thing of the past, except for sports and news, where live broadcasting is important.

        • -1

Is that because you're a conservative?

          • -1

@arcticmonkey: I’m not involved in conservation.

    • +12

I thought the $25 a month for first 3 was too expensive!

      • +1

Foxtel Now used to have $10 per month packages to compete with Netflix, Stan, Amazon, Disney+ etc, but they gave up on that last year.

  • How does it compare to this deal?

    • +3

      its $14 cheaper. a month :-))))

      • Glad I didn't sign up to it then. Thank you kind stranger :]

  • +1

Is it easy enough to cancel before the 3 months are up !

    • +1

yep - just hit the cancel button. dont even need to call a call centre and go through hoops

      • yep - just hit the cancel button

        In the third month.

  • I keep Foxtel for the HBO content … This is a fairly good deal as the movies on there are pretty good (and normally $20 a month) and as it's Foxtel Now you should be able to walk away from it or cut down to what you want whenever suits you. Thanks OP

    • +5

You're better off with Binge ($14 month for HD) as has all the hbo content and pretty much everything interesting on Foxtel with exception of sport. I'm still on my 9 month free from Telstra so check out if that's an option for you. Still never understand why they refuse to offer 4k for the price when everyone else is though

      • Yeah not sure why they haven't gone down that route on either of their streaming services …

Good call on the Binge :)

  • What's the difference between this and Binge?

    • +2

i dont think there is sport on binge

      • Nope there's not. Need Kayo for Sports, which is also run by Streammotion.

  • +5

I was surprised. If you want to watch a Foxtel on Demand movie, you still need to watch a 30-second ad, can not skip.

    • +3

      thats ridiculous

    • Never
All on demand I watched as ad free

  • +5

Ive seen some crazy RRPs but Foxtel Go for $104 a month takes the cake. Thats 1000% more expensive then others like netflix, disney plus, etc. For $104 a month, im expecting foxtel with free NBN.

    • This is actually fairly common in Europe.

  • +21

But it's a Murdoch product. I couldn't enjoy it while I'm feeling like I'm giving money to a monster.

    • +22

Far more ethical to support The Pirate Bay IMO

      • +4

i could not have said it better myself

      • Is that still around?

      • +2

The Pirate Bay (free trial advertising) is more ethical than Murdoch (Fake News) for sure.
Brazilian best-selling author Paulo Coelho has embraced free sharing online. Coelho supports The Pirate Bay & offered to be witness in the 2009 trial. He accounts much of his growing sales to his work shared on the Internet & comments that
"A person who does not share is not only selfish but bitter & alone"

    • -1

Standard free-to-air fake news channels are equally as toxic to society. Heck, they even propagated the "murdoch bad" idea - an idea encouraging division! (the exact same thing as murdoch is accused of!)

Murdoch, by the way, is controlled opposition; they are all the same people on both "sides".

Best bet is to switch off the TV entirely

      • +3

Not sure why got negged here, your not standing up for Murdoch….

  • +2

Worth considering this deal if you watch full replays of AFL or NRL (or A-League, Supercars, or NBL?) on Kayo (or Minis for all sports on Kayo), as these are all 50fps on Foxtel Now / Go instead of 25fps on Kayo.

  • +5

Foxtel is losing hundreds of millions. I will be amazed if its around in 3 years, let alone 1.

  • +4

Foxtel revenue no doubt keep sky news on the air. I'd rather burn my money.

  • +10

    Thanks but no thanks Rupert.
The last thing i want is to pay Peta Credlin and Alan Bolt's wages.

  • New email address with a CC that has been used before? will that work?

    • It did for me.

  • +1

Everything I've watched on this has felt sped up or pitched, and a friend has noticed the same. Is it just us? This has been on demand and live

    • +4

Yep. Speed up content, fit more ads in the same timeslot.

      https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/speed-of-sound/

      • Omg this insane lol. And they used to charge $104/month for this kind of screwed up content?

    • Yeah, AFAIK everything on Foxtel Now / Go / Binge is 25fps.

      • That's great but what about the speed? Or are you saying they take ie; 20fps footage and playback at 25fps?

        • are you saying they take ie; 20fps footage and playback at 25fps?

          Yep.

    • Binge had/has this problem. Watching The Office made me want to die hearing their voices and the opening theme.

Old mate over at Whirlpool says "24fps content is converted to NTSC's 30fps using a 3:2 pull-down first which maintains timebase, essentially stretching out the frames to cover it, to run the 30fps master, they speed it up to 25fps which results in a shorter runtime and chipmunk voices"

  • +3

Doesn't work for me. Just gives me a free 10 day trial then basic for $25

    • Same here. And tried on different browsers. Boo for cookies.

  • +1

Man, I've been dying to watch tennis and cricket during our offseason, as well some other less popular sports like baddy. Hope I can do it without supporting the Murdoch empire sometime soon!

  • +1

Doesn't work for me either. All I got was essentials for $25 a month after the trial ends.

  • If you cancel straight away do you still get your 3 months? Or do you have to cancel on your last month?

  • +1

They took away CNN from Fetch TV, not that I watch CNN much, but the tactic is pretty sick.

  • lol, no

  • Keeps saying $39 month…?

  • +1

Woah. So Foxtel Now is usually $104 but Binge and Kayo is like $30 a month combined? Seems ridiculous.

  • +1

Ye it also comes up as $39 a month for me without doco's, kids and drama packs….

  • Prank deal. Clicking it offers the $25 basic package only. Not a current Foxtel customer and never subscribed to Foxtel Now.

    • Have you given it another go?

  • Like others I am clicking through the link but only getting the essentials package.

  • Not sure why some folks above are unable to see the offer. Works fine for me on Chrome in an android mobile. Didn't even need to go incognito.

    • +2

We can see the offer. The problem is it switches to the basic package partway through the acceptance process.

      • Yes that is what happens. Starts (even) via email from Click Frenzy saying $25. Go to page $25. Click accept offer and it's $39. I've used my daughter's Foxtel Now. Never had my own. And chat said they can't see the offer.

  • +2

    Doesn't work

    • Have you given it another go?

  • Please avoid signing this package, I just cancel my Account as I was showing 39 per month with less numbers of channels when contacted support over chat they were keep saying to cancel account
Not even reading about my problem.
Never seen such customercare who are just pushing you to go out.

    • Shame you had such a bad experience, there is a new link that's been posted though. Maybe give that a try?

  • Doesn't work. Proceed at your own risk

  • -1

Just worked for me. Not sure why others are having issues.

    • +1

If I were you, I'd double check that you're actually getting everything they were claiming to offer. They said you'd get sports and movies etc but really all that you were getting was the "essentials" pack and that's it. As soon as you added sport etc, the price shoots up.

      • When it shows only essential pack go back page & click the link again & will show all packages included

        • I just tried it again on Chrome and the best I managed to get was a new offer of theirs which is $39 a month. I am pretty sure they've got greedy and ditched the click frenzy offer and they are only offering the $39 / month one now.

          • @Emerald: best to just call & mention the offer, clearly something wrong with the link

            • @RogueWolf: Yeah, I'll have to do that.According to the terms, that original Click Frenzy offer hasn't expired. So they have no reason to not honour it.

  • I didn't have to add any packages. The link did it all for me. Create a login, add credit card details, profit. Receipt mentions "Offers - Foxtel Now - $25 All Packs for 3 months"
Edit - whoops. Supposed to be a reply to Emerald

  • link here didnt work for me. but i got the email from click frenzy and clicked through my email and it worked
