[New Latitude Pay Customers] Breville Barista Express $606.10 + $100 Store Credit ($0 C&C Only) @ The Good Guys

990

I think this is best deal ever if you are in the market for Breville Barista Express / Barista Pro.

Okay, bear with me, so this deal combined the following discount:
10% off TGG + Latitude Pay New customer ($50 off $200+) + TGG Online Click and Collect only Bonus Small Appliances Credit ($100 for $500+) + Cashreward 5%

Breakdown of the discount and how much potential saving is below:

Advertised Price After EGG10 After Latitude Pay (NEW) Cashrewards value Online Bonus Small Appliances Credit After Cashreward and store credit Discount %
Barista Express (Stainless Steel) $729.00 $656.10 $606.10 $29.82 $100.00 $476.28 34.67%
Barista Pro (Smoked Hickory) $899.00 $809.10 $759.10 $36.78 $100.00 $622.32 30.78%

Not to mention, you are also eligible for Breville's Mothers Day Bonus Gift Pack valued at $196

If you counted every benefit (excluding the bonus gift pack), the final price is:
Breville Barista Express (Stainless Steel): $476.28 (34.67% discount from advertised price)
Breville Barista Pro (Smoked Hickory): $622.32 (30.78% discount from advertised price)

I only listed the colour above, because:
1. Barista Express in Black Sesame fall under Door Buster deals.. means no 10% off.
2. Barista Pro in other colour is $949 (still able to use the same method, but just more expensive - Smoked Hickory is better colour anyway :) )

Also note:
1. ONLINE ONLY + Click and Collect only, but plenty of stock as I checked today.

Of course these discount works with other small appliances, and the closer they're to $500 in value (after 10% off), the more savings you have.

Otherwise, happy with the price on these espresso machines which haven't had it best price since pre-covid.

Enjoy!

Original Coupon Deal - TGG 10% Off
Original Coupon Deal - New Latitude Pay $50 bonus

Edit 1 - EGG10 and Little Birdie doesn't stack, so better use Cashrewards (more value anyway) - I removed all Little Birdie benefits from the post.

        Champion!

      • +2

It's finally back to the price I paid ~three years ago 😂 Covid / working from home really inflated espresso machine prices

        • +1

This deal last year at the height of lockdown was a cracker https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/546941

          • @isthisreallife22: I've actually used one of these now - solid deal and not a terrible machine but I'd have a hard time recommending it when you can do so much better for a few hundred more.

            • @cydia9k: Which one do you have in mind/would recommend?

              • +1

@ValouSydney: I have the BES870 at home, use it daily, love it and would happily recommend it at up to $800.

We have the Oracle at work - I wouldn't ever recommend it for home use, but pretty neat for an office setting.

I've used the DeLonghi La Specialista recently - bit quirky, wouldn't recommend unless it was on sale under $600.

My ideal upgrade from the 870 would be the Dual Boiler with a separate grinder.

                • @cydia9k: Why wouldn't you recommend the Oracle for home use? A couple of friends of mine swear by it at home.

                  • @haydo: I suppose the target audience does go home after work :) I'll elaborate on my experience.

It's excellent for a work environment because it can accomodate everyone.

Newbies or anyone that just wants a cup of coffee can get sorted with minimal interaction but with the added satisfaction of seeing your fresh grind / being involved in the process.

I can roleplay as a barista 3-5x per day and make a few drinks at once fairly fast, but I hate the lack of control the wand provides with there being four steam outlets.

I'm also a fan of the analog pressure gauge.

Personally I wouldn't recommend because my ideal upgrade fits within the same price range as the Oracle alone, but I suppose there is a home market for it.

                • @cydia9k:

My ideal upgrade from the 870 would be the Dual Boiler with a separate grinder.

This is what I did, sold my BES870BKS on gumtree for $470 and bought a BES920BKS for $600 (new but display stock). Plus a Eureka Specialita 350 euros. Def worth the upgrade.

But I wouldn't have got a dual boiler and separate grinder before going to a bes870 or 878. Definitely recommend starting at that level imho.

              • +1

@ValouSydney: Gaggia Classic Pro best entry level espresso machine with commercial size portafilter.

Rancilio Sylvia slightly more work involved in the process but better quality.

Lelit Anna is also very good. Gets rated highly compared to Rancilio and has a PID for controlled temp if you can't be botheres temp surfing with the Rancilio.

All the above require budget for a good grinder, but you'll get a superior shot of coffee and far better steam power from any of the above than this Breville machine

                • @sAmiZZle: Thanks for the feedback, I've heard of them but they look terrible 🤣

                  • @ValouSydney: Haha I agree they don't look as modern. The Gaggia comes in different colours. But yeah agree on that point. They're authentic Italian style. If you can look past exterior, they'll give you expresso that more than makes up for it.

  • Do i need to sign up to latitude pay separately or is there an option during check out?

    • +2

Perhaps a comment thread on some good items to use the $100 store credit on

Google Chromecast with Google TV - $99

    • +1

Nothing against you posting the Chromecast, but anyone considering it should also consider this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/569685

      • yeah, already got that deal

Just seeing what I would want to get that would be worthwhile.

        • If I fail to find anything for $100 store credit then I will aim for Coffee Bin or cleaning accessories.

          • @smarter_fool: the mothers day redemption comes with a bench coffee bin

Just realised I received a text today saying I'll receive a $30 store credit for over $300 spend.

No code, credit will be sent to my mobile.

    Hopefully it all stacks.

    • +1

yeah me too.. literally just now.. ahahaha oh well! hopefully it stacked for you

      • Haven't ordered yet, will let you know.

I got the red one from the Myer deal last year for $579 iirc. The mother's Day bonus never appeared until I bugged them and was finally sent 2 large bags of coffee beans that went stale before I could use them all.

    • well noted, this time they actually include a more useful tools which is knock box on top of coffee beans that maybe stale / past due…

      • +1

The knock box was what I was after last time. Was told none in stock, here's some beans. Guessing the same will happen this year for anyone who puts in a claim.

Just had a look at bonus. Different coffee brand. The bonus I applied for had the small jug but no online class.

        • Same here. "Knock box etc out of stock , have some beans and b****** off"

          • @wetwork: Was not expecting anything (based on previous promotions debacle) but received my knock box and the batch of coffee with a roast date of 28th March 2021. Very happy indeed - now probably I am going to waste half of the packet in trying to dial in some honey.

        • I have just received a freshly roasted beans same as the guy above and the knock box! vety happy indeed!

          • @holydramon71: Do share you grinder settings for the coffee.

            • @smarter_fool: Received my beans and knock box today as well

            • @smarter_fool: I'll dialed in my Barista Pro with the beans tomorrow! Was just finishing off old beans.

              • +1

@holydramon71: Thanks :) I got close at grind 19 (burr at 4) and I am trying to reduce dosage as 1:2 was still a little bitter for me.

                • +1

@smarter_fool: noted, I'm still at default inner bur (I think it was 5?), since with my current beans, I am happy at grind 17, getting 1:2.2 ratio, and taste great.

    • +1 vote for Aldi's beans; locally roasted and usually pretty recently, last bag I bought was about a month after the roasting date.

      • have also been using aldi beans, great value & normally fresh from the roaster

  • Great timing!

  • +1
  • Is the store credit only applied to Breville? Will I get this if I buy a Delonghi coffee machine? thanks

    • I believe its any small appliances with some exclusions, see the post above for T&Cs

  • The Breville mothers day gift checklist shows it must show a balance of $0:
    https://imgur.com/6N6Xkhs

Does that mean we wont be able to claim until Latitude payments are complete?

    • +1

I believe the Good Guys tax invoice will say fully paid or $0 outstanding, because Latitude Pay has provided the payment.

      • Thanks!
I'll have to check when I pick it up, haven't received a proper tax invoice via email yet.

  • +1

    Ordered one!
Logged in to say thank you for the post

  • wonder if i can use my 5x home tcn $100 gift cards i have stashed away and stack the latitude pay on also

  • Thanks Op - finally caved in. The price was too good to pass on. I have noticed that the order says its on Back order but I am hopeful that it is available soon (may be after easter). In the mean time I will start finishing off my nespresso pods.

    • +1

      Did you order Barista Pro?

Because when I ordered mine, it does say backordered, but 1 hour later my local store (which I chose for click and collect) said its ready for collection.

As long as when you do stock check it said in stock 1 hour click and collect, it should be fine :)

  • Ordered a machine, thank you OP!

  • great

  • Anyone going for extended warranty?
    mate says its a must..

    • Yep I was thinking of getting the 5yr gold concierge. It's $125 but you get $20 vouchers every 3 months ($300 total in 5yrs) plus 5yr extended warranty. No brainer for this coffee machine I think

      • Under consumer statutory rights this machine should have 3-4 year warranty anyway.

        • Are you sure a $600 coffee machine would be covered for 3-4yrs? Where does it say that in statutory rights?

          • @itslittfam: The statutory rights offers only a guide and is proportional to the price and the quality of the product. You are not expected to spend $600 for a coffee machine every year and hence as a guide a machine should last more than the manufacturers warranty. Interestingly, my receipt shows a price for Barista Pro with a total tendered value (include security deposit) of $1618.20 and no mention of any discounts.

I am not trying to convince anyone here to get out of buying extended warranty, after all it is your money.

  • i only got $80 credit today not $100? did I miss something?

    • I thought the credit was to be issued after 28th April?

      • I dont know what happened. Got $80 and called them. I was told it was only $80 not $100 :-(

        • It is quite possible the $80 credit is for some other offer that you were eligible for and not the Mother's day benefit. The T&C don't even have that amount listed so I suggest you wait for 28th April for your additional credit. If you do not hear from them or they refuse then this should be an easy claim to take to Consumer affairs provided you made an eligible purchase..

Just received the Mothers Day Bonus, very surprised how quickly it arrived, generally I'm waiting months for these promos.

  • +1

Has anyone here received the good guys $100 credit yet. It was supposed to be sent out today

Edit: I got it wrong the credit issue date is 28th and not 24th.

    • Guess we find out in 3 days

  • store credits have arrived, yay!

    • yep got mine too..

Now to find something to use it on

      • Happy they delivered the credit on time and the amount that was promised. I ended up buying a Homedics shiatsu massage cushion (a score for mother's day) and some cleaning tablets for my coffee machine.
