  • after 60 seconds i get message ""We've sent an email to xxxx
with your application details and instructions."" after 40 mins still no email received. does that mean it was automatically rejected?

    • +1

I'd say that message means they have sent an email to xxxx with your application details and instructions ;)

It took a while for mine to come through. From memory it might have been overnight.

      • Took 3 days for me to get the confirmation email and another few days for them to email me about my pay slip… nothing since

    • My email never arrived. I checked spam etc but nothing. 2 weeks later card arrived

  • Has anyone got a confirmation that card was approved and on it's way from [email protected]?

Email looks same as the one that sent application received acknowledgement but font looks weirdly suspicious and different to me…

    • Okay nvm i was thinking it might be a phishing attempt since the font was so weird but it was just my email app showing weird font for some reason.

  • Has anyone bought gift cards from Suncorp rewards using an ANZ credit card and had that counted as eligible spend to get to the $2000 required?

    • Have you ever tried?

      • +1

I have bought some gift cards through Suncorp to get to the $2000 spend required and looks like the spend was counted.
To be honest the “eligible spend” tracking is a bit of black magic so can’t be 100% sure.
The points do not get allocated at the same time as the spend, it is some random period after, and therefore its nearly impossible to work out what has and hasn’t been included.
I have spent the $2000 now, which then should show as 4000 points balance at some point - assuming it’s all eligible spend.
Once I see 4000 points, I am going to call ANZ and ask them to confirm I have qualified for the min spend criteria as per the promotion.

        • Thanks. I think points will take 1-2 days after the purchase is cleared.

        • +1

I called ANZ earlier to enquire how long till the 180k bonus points hit the rewards account, I was told up to 90 days from point of hitting minimum spend…

This comment would have saved me a phone call though.

        • Were you able to confirm whether GC bought from Suncorp Benefits website qualify as 'eligible' spend?
I did receive rewards points for those, but not sure if they'd be considered for the min spend criteria.

  • Got the card…never been with ANZ before. No CRN on any of the documents…how are you supposed to activate and setup an account? All of it seems to assume you’re already a customer. Pretty dumb.

    • If you don't have your Customer Registration Number or Telecode handy, you can also register for ANZ Internet Banking with your ANZ card, PIN and registered mobile number.

      Register with your ANZ card

If that doesn't work you'll have to call them to get your CRN.

      Call us on 13 33 50 any time (+61 3 9683 8833 from overseas).

      • Had to call them to generate a CRN. Relatively painless except for the call wait. Certainly not as good as the AMEX process.

  • I wonder what the average time for card delivery is.

    Applied 6/4
Approved 8/4 (said my card was on the way)

It's been over a week now, so hopefully this is normal.

    • For what it’s worth, my timeline is similar to yours. Applied 05/04, approved 07/04, got the welcome kit 13/04 and the card on the 15/04. So you might get it today if my experience is anything to go by.

      • Same dates as vague, and received today.

      • I received my card today! Though haven't received my welcome kit. Hopefully that will arrive soon.

        • do welcome kits even matter? sign into online banking change pin ezpz

          • @blinkybro: Well, my account was blocked when I logged into online banking. I called up to get it unblocked to activate my card, and they said that they couldn't do it until I got the welcome kit (either unblocking my account or activating my card). I asked why, and they said, "It's really important that you read the TOS before activating your card."

            -_-

            • @Vague: That's unfortunate, my rep said it was fine my welcome kit hadn't came and i can change my pin in the online acc, maybe re-call?

              • @blinkybro: Okay, I recalled again and they've now activated my card and also my internet banking and mobile banking are also working as well. So yeah, I guess just unlucky the first time.

Applied and provided docs on 7/4
Still nothing. No emails (other than application received and to supply docs) no calls.

  • +1

Still waiting to be approved. Got 2 phone calls today from them asking the same questions!! I applied on Good Friday. This is the 4th time they've rung me with their questions,.

    • Bit ridiculous.

    • +1

You're only 12 more calls from a 50% chance of approval based on my experience of the ANZ approval process

  • got auto email a couple hours later saying auto rejection. got phone call today saying they didn't do credit check she said i should qualify after a few questions but after she did a credit check and seen the home loans and some undeclared credit card limits said the system couldn't approve it after all. btw they said they can't do split limit from existing anz cards to approve it like they did in the past because of new lending rules. Also the credit assessors tel number is unmonitored due to covid so you have to email them. i should have closed my existing anz cards and reduced my other bank card limits to better off my chances before applying. I guess the good old days of churning has ended for me and ill utilise the existing card offers i have. oh well took up a 0% balance transfer for 1.5 years that i had on my existing anz card ending today and will transfer it to the offset account once funds arrive in other banks card.

  • finally got SMS stating approval (applied 4th or 5th april). let's see how long for cards and documentation to arrive.

    • Did you get any calls in between?

      • +1

zero calls. just an email requesting payslips etc.

        • You are one of the lucky ones. Anz has been crazy hard to get approval for as they check literally everything.

  • Applied yesterday night, and have received email today morning asking for income proofs. Let's see how it goes.

    • Got approval message just now.

  • Welp. Applied. Lets see how it goes.

  • +2

For those of you still waiting for the card - approved on 8th and pin and card were dispatched on 13th and 15th respectively.

    • do they sms/email when those are dispatched?

      • No SMS or email, the dates are from postal stamps on envelopes, they both arrived to BNE CBD today.

  • Anyone know if paying ZIP balance with an ANZ Rewards card is eligble to earn rewards? My CBA cards do, wondering if anyone has experience with an ANZ CC and ZIP ?

  • Still waiting as at 20/4 to be approved - or not. I applied Good Friday and they've talked to me 4 times on the phone.

  • Got knocked back to the Platinum (max credit limit they would give me is 10k) I already have 15k Black card with another bank and mortgage so I'm not too surprised. Platinum is ok, 120'000 points when spending 1.5k ($520 value).

  • Applied for the Black, got asked for some pay slips, approved the next day. Total turnaround 3 business days. I am a previous ANZ customer (have held a few different cards and had a bank account there at one stage, many years ago) so maybe that helped.

  • I applied in Dec last year and they rejected me on the Platinum. They went through all my expenses. I applied ANZ Black last week and got approved instantly. I reckon this time went ok because rather than reporting the extra mortgage repayment I only report the minimum required. Like $800 as minimum monthly payment vs the $2000. I don't have any another credit card. Income not over 100k.

  • Does anyone know when this offer ends? I got the citibank one 2 months ago and need to wait 3 months to get the bonus points, I do have another platinum card with another bank for normal use. I earn over 75k and have low outgoings as can split it with my wife for application purposes. 16k of credit card limits. Should I just apply?

  • +1

I applied two weeks ago, provided documents and received no contact or confirmation of approval. Then boom - received the card and pin in the mail at once (very insecure…).

Still no email confirmations etc even after activation. ANZ needs to work on their comms.

    • Double check that your details are listed correctly. I received both email and SMS saying that I've been approved and "An ANZ Rewards Black card is coming your way" email.

      • I did… weirdly got a notification saying my pin had been reset when I did, but nothing else. Combed through spam and nothing. Very odd!

    • +1

received the card and pin in the mail at once (very insecure…)

Australia Post is operating fewer delivery days therefore letters posted on different days can potentially arrive to the recipient on the same day.

Still no email confirmations etc even after activation.

Don't think you get email confirmation after activation but they certainly should have provided confirmation after approval. I got two emails and a text.

      • Yeah I found it surprising I got nothing- but all seems to work nonetheless

  • Do you automatic gets the the bonus 180,000 points once you spend over 2k?

    • Maybe on the next statement? I've met the spend but don't have the points yet.

      • -1

Can't you see your points online?

        • Yes, that's how I know I don't have the bonus points yet.

      • Anything yet? If so how long after spend

        • No bonus points yet.
4k spend on first statement which was issued around 20 April.
No annual fee charged on the first statement though.

    • I called ANZ earlier to enquire how long till the 180,000 bonus points hit the rewards account, I was told up to 90 days from the date that you are eligible (hit minimum spend).

This comment would have saved me a phone call though.

  • Finally got approved last night with an email. Applied on Good Friday. I got a 15k credit limit

  • Approved on 14th. Card received Yesterday (20th)

    • Hi did your offer letter include your bonus points?

      • no my platinum letter of offer did not show rhe bonus points

  • -2

I applied for Platinum and was approved but the offer statement did not mention the bonus points and despite capturing screen grabs would not honour the offer, so didn't activate the card.
Wife applied for the Black via this link and was approved, again her offer did not include the bonus points, still awaiting for ANZ's response.

Did anyone's offer actually include the Bonus points?

    • Good question.

Did anyone's offer actually include the Bonus points? or have the points now??

    • +1

I've never in 20 years and fifty plus cards had the bonus documented in the offer after signing up - haven't had any problems yet (touch wood).

      • My last ANZ card was 3 years ago and it did have the offer documented which is why we both reached out to ANZ this time.
I was told no, she is still waiting for a response.
My recent diners card also did not include the bonus offer, but when I contacted support they confirmed I was eligible and when the time came to collect, I did not receive the points, contacted support they had my old enquiry and paid the points, so I like to have it confirmed.

        • +1

          Take da screen shot

          • @cashless: As I said in my post, we provided "screen grabs", ie: screen shots in my email to customer support. Both offers were still active at the time of my enquiry.
Others have said, the bonus offers are not included in the offer letter, I just have a very low level of trust towards ANZ.

      • I'm sure I have seen it, but very rarely. It certainly is not the norm for it to be documented.

And it doesn't matter if it isn't documented. Everyone should always keep evidence of all offers, which by itself should be sufficient to get the bank to honour it.

        • As I said, we included screen grabs of the offer in the enquiry, surely a screen capture is sufficient evidence.

          • @UltimateAI: Normally it is. So next step is to threaten to go to AFCA.

And if necessary, next step after that is to go to AFCA.

    • Nothing about the offer was stated in the pack, but when I called ANZ they confirmed that the offer was in place on my card. Haven’t received points yet thought.

  • Anz placing temporary lock on my account and asked me to verify transaction was authorised which I did by messaging back 1 to their message but block still seems ongoing…

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove block other than calling? App says no card linked to this account when i click my card and go to manage section

  • +2

Been 20 days since ive applied… These guys are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow.

  • Applied on the 05/04, submitted payslips on 06/04, yet to hear anything.

    • I got called to resubmit my payslip despite it saying bank statements are adequate and that my payslip had YTD… sigh

  • question - do I lose my points if i cancel my CC and have no other accounts with ANZ?

    • +1

After you closed the CC, the Reward account linked to that card will be closed (I believe they will give you 3 months grace). No matter whatever other account you have with them.

      • Thanks! if i buy a woolworths card for example, does that expire even after i cancel or free to use?

        • your woolworths card would be a gift card (and will have its own expiry date) that's separate to the ANZ card.

          • @ltwo: Gucci, thanks! so just spend all points then closed, noted ^_^

  • What is the turn around from application to cc in my hand?

I applied Thursday night and supplied 3 months of pay slips and ATO payment summary and have no email acknowledgment of anything

I got new tyres, insurance and school fees coming up, so a great way to make the minimum spend

    • Approx. 1 month from experience

    • Around two weeks for me.

    • Not looking good then :-(

      • Similar. Applied near beginning of month anticipating quite a few major expenses due end of this month. No dice for me so far and knowing AusPost won’t get here anytime soon

  • I got my statement already (though i only had card for a few days). It says reward points 0 but I spent a few thousand dollars on appliances etc. Are the points just slow to update with ANZ? Transactions were pending until yesterday.

    • Same here, first statement in less than 1 week.
Had still managed to rack up $1k spend (thanks OzBargain…).
My reward points did appear on the statement though

      • Hmm just called ANZ and they claim it takes 24-48 hours for my rewards points to be transferred after statement though it showed 0 points on my statement, hope if transfers over… bit weird

        • Points for purchases showed up (no bonus though) seems to have taken some time as i activated card last Thursday and statement was today

          • @acho92: Any bonus points yet? I have my regular points and a statement has been posted yet no bonus points.

  • My first statement was issued on 20 April. I have all the reward points for my spend, but no bonus points.

    • Did you eve get your bonus

      • +1

        yep

  • If i pay the minimum payments for a month or two, am i sti eligible for the bonus points if i met the spending criteria? Or would i need to first pay the full amount before they credit me the bonus points?
