    • No Bing Lee in WA :( Also no stock showing on the bing lee link? The official oppo store has the for $89 or something i saw the other day? Would this be legit?

I was thinking of buying the Super vooc charger off the oppo store as i cant find an official one anywhere else… $60 :( The cable Oppo store sells is only VOOC though, but I believe that's what they gave us in the box? The super vooc being sold by mobileciti and dick smith online is braided and looks different though? not sure what the super vooc difference is - online sources seem to indicate a vooc cable does the same job. The only thing that irks me is the 1m length … need a 2m for sure.

      • Saw many genuine Oppo super vooc wall chargers (Aust stock) that goes up to 50w on eBay from sellers with good rating for around $35 shipped. Cables for the same description at 1m at $7 each. I bought a couple cables to start with.

        • oh but super VOOC is the 65 w ones? I don tthink 50w is super vooc? Only VOOC? As for cables is these normal VOOC? As most are $20-27 for vooc or supervooc on dicksmith, mobileciti etc (ebay store) - do you mind linking a few ? Wouldn't mind checking it out

          • @SaberX: Hi, I'm not super sure what Oppos naming differences are, but from the various sellers descriptions, I think the charger model Super VOOC "VCA5JAAH" gives 10V/5A charging which delivers 50W.
            https://www.mobileciti.com.au/oppo-supervooc-5a-flash-charge…

            https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Oppo-VOOC-Flash-Charger-Mini-Whi…

And the Super VOOC 2.0 charger included with the phone is "VCA7GAAH" gives 10V/6.5A that claims 65w.

          • @SaberX: Hey mate, just to report back that I received a genuine Oppo charger bought from ebay model VCA5JAAH ($34 delivered) — once plugged in the phone it shows Super VOOC with different charging graphics. I guess this is the 50w version. It is still very fast, started from 70% and it takes about 25sec to charge 1% - obviously it gets slower when it reaches the top end.

Cables I bought from ebay that says genuine OPPO VOOC with green lables for $7 posted will charge VOOC 2.0 no issues.

            • @Andysjunks: Thanks for reporting back. I've gotten the VCA7GAAH off the oppo site back in mid april and took it on holidays, seems to work exactly like the in the box - same model. It would be noticeably different i presume to the 50w if you measure them, but overall both would charge pretty quickly.

The issue seems to be super vooc also has super vooc 2.0. so i believe 50w is the super VOOC and the 65W the new "super vooc 2" essentially. I wish they would just name the things differently.

It appears the in box cable is a VOOC cable. And if you trust google it makes no difference using this or a 'super vooc' cable. nonethlesss i got a supervooc off ebay and they are all the braided grey ones off mobile citi (or dick smith sells them) and it appears to do super vooc also. I do need to do a side by side comparison on accubattery on charging speeds to the VOOC cable, but no noticeable difference. they charge lightnging fast, i believe my first time trying from 20% up you can get to the 80%something sweet spot to disconnect charging in like 15 minutes or something ridiculous. It is tat quick you goto the bathroom and it'll overcharge.

My super VOOC cables are DL133 or something from memory. Does your green ones show the model? I believe the inclued in phone box white ones that are just VOOC are DL129 or the like? The Super VOOC DL133 i got has orange tipped usb heads though - yours are green?

              • @SaberX: Hey, I think you are right about Super VOOC is 50w and Super VOOC 2.0 is 65w…. I really hope Oppo made this clearer as it is really some of the best charging performer out there at the moment, it deserves better marketing. I now can't go back to anything slower…. guess Oppo may have already sold me their next phone.

The cable came in the box has orange bits in the plug heads and the ones I got from ebay have green. Neither has model numbers on the cable.

    • the SUper VOOC car charger is back in stock. they also have the DL129 oppo VOOC cable. MIght grab one of each then!

      • plz share a link

        • Sorry went on holiday and didnt see this. But it was the bing lee link someone posted above earlier. It showed up as in stock so I bought it, sitting in a package on my floor now - so still to see, but presumably genuine. Keep an eye out for it to go back in stock?

Not sure why it's so much cheaper than the official oppo store though?

fyi for anyone looking for an extra charger you can also get any realme chargers too. eg: https://shop.realme.net.au/collections/power-cables/products…

Oppo, realme and oneplus are all owned by the same parent company. Despite different names, all their fast charging tech is the same and therefore the chargers are interchangeable between them.

    • hadn't heard of realme. are they the budget company as opposed to oppo and oneplus? Looks like the chargers the same price as the oppo's 65w one online. the most expensive one that im trying to nail down though is the supervooc car port charger though. there's also a heap of 'super vooc' cables that seem way to cheap (like low $10s) on ebay… not sure how special a super vooc or vooc cable needs to be , would most usb c cables super charge if you plug them into the proper super vooc charger though? or the cable plays a part too?

  • Got one and these and had issues with google messages not pushing notifications, had to delve into two spots. One was making it start on startup the other was in the general notifications settings. Seems to be common as a few google results/articles on it.

    • do you have any link? I have the same issue

    • +1

Yeah there's a few nigglies, but not the end of the world for me. Unfortunately can't mute notifications with the simple "silent" button but leave phone calls on - with some phones they have the different volume channels: notifications vs phone call audio vs ringing tone volume - but alas it appears the find x2 doesn't have this functionality.

amazing phone, just set it up, best android i have ever used

    • +1

yup, its truly a beautiful device

  • anyone know how or when we can get android 11? bit sad to see the security update is only from October, that half a year old for their previous year flagship. seems a bit poor…

  • anyone had success applying tempered glass on their screen? my touch sensitivity has gone on the phone. its installed correctly.

  • Anyone feels touch screen get frost for while when you using I means touch stop working than go normal

    • no, are you using a tempered glass???

      • No what they have given same cover and screen protector

        • mine's perfectly mine

    • I'm having the same! did you find a way to fix it?

      • Nope it fix byself sometime come back

        • that's a bit annoying isn't it
I'm updating to ColorOS11/Android 11 as I type this, hopefully it will fix it.
I'm also having another issue with video shooting, hopefully it get fixed as well.

          • @firedolphin: what's the issue with videos

            • @[Deactivated]: everytime (maybe most of the time is more precise) I start to record a video the first 1-2 seconds are lagging for some reason before it comes back to normal. The playback of the videos shows the dropped frames for the starting 2 seconds as well, but not as bad as what i see when i shoot them.

I've been setting my video recording at 4k 30fps

  • Anyone know when we will get android 11 ?

Used it on a trip to Tassie. One of the things I've noticed on the camera - despite being voted one of the top cameras, it stood out compared to my samsung s8+:

THe selfie camera - definitely better quality. But note in outdoor 'selfies' (in our trip alot) the background which is brighter becomes super bright when it focuses on our faces first. It's unnaturally too bright , the only way to fix is to touch the screen to focus on the background. Doing so then causes your faces to go darker…. so you cant' have it both ways. tHe s8+ had worse picture quality when you loook at the pictures, but the ratio of background vs your faces was much more 'closer'. The camera does appear to 'filter' faces abit, you know like those japanese photo machines booths that makeup the girls a bit - or at least my mrs thinks so. I too agree her face looks abit 'different' but i can't quite place it.

With the main back cameras the quality is good in day time, can't fault it. I did notice at indoors venues a few times it was blurry and struggling with what i thought was 'reasonable' light. a shaky hand might blur it, but im usually pretty good, when I tested it myself (afte rthe waiter taking photos for us etc.) it was still abit off. My previous s8+ and other phones would have handled the reasonable light in a night time indoors restaurant ok. grainy photos but not blurry. I did note there's a "night" option, vs the general 'photo',so just some extra effort to adjust it to the night settings.

I do worry that unlike my s8+ if i were to take this to say iceland, it would not pick up the ice caves underground blue crystal hues and subtle features. Somehow that little bit of colour and processing of the samsung… which i think you don't notice as most day time photos this thing is magnificent and the zoom incredible. it's the selfie and darker shots and contrast i've been struggling with.

Just me? or some settings im missing?

Also am i the only person who repeatedly finds their hands touching the camera lens due to ergonomics? Wondering if it's worth getting those camera lens tempered glass protectors to put over just the back? Anyone know if these interfere with image quality?

P.S. Is there any way to implement hand gestures like the old samsungs - raising a straight hand cuased a 5 sec timer to come on for example - an easy way to snap a selfie with keeping a stable hand.

    • Hopefully, some of these issues you're facing are ironed out with the new update. I do notice that for me, the camera is not consistent. It's still a fantastic camera phone for the price we got it for!

Edit - I have bought and installed the tempered glass for the camera. So far so good and I haven't noticed any difference in image quality. Regarding the photos, just play around with some Pro or camera settings in general. One thing which annoys me is the selfie camera which is very bright until you tap to focus and then it fixes the light.

      • That's exactly what I was saying abt the selfie camera having used it in Tassie. It doesn't work as well as my old Samsung s8+ as if you tap your face it'll focus the rightness to match your face which usually means the landscape in background is super bright. Likewise if you tap the landscape then the face will be way darker.

Agreed for the price it's good. I just was expecting it to be great next gen like s20 line comparable. That said the android 11 Is now out. Not sure what the changes are though.

It happened to me out of the box as well- way too bright with striking effect from lights. Just use a clean cloth, give the front lense a wipe and it was fine for me since then.

        • Its pretty embarrassing to use this camera indoors. it does produce blurry images and the only reason is in AUTO mode the shutter speed goes dangerously low. Pixel 3a does slightly better job then this. However, there is GCAM mod that works on Find X2 Pro

          • @[Deactivated]: That's what I find - a pretty blurry or grainy indoor at times. Is this selfie or both back cams and selfies? The tech should be better than my old s8 so must be just software and settings related…. What's a gcam mod tho? An app? Or OS tweak?

        • I'll try but I seriously doubt this one as it corrects when tapping screen areas to focus on. Have wet wipes phone a few times already … Will focus on selfie camera again.

      • @dealsforlife do you have a link for your camera lens tempered glass?? I can only find two on eBay. Ones a pretty exp 20+ one from UK which claimed 9H tempered glass. The other is aus based supposedly shipping from China. 6.50 or so for 6H but some sorts carbon fibre glass?? Rather than tempered glass… Curious which you got and def doesn't interfere with focus and quality of photos?

        • Link below. Make sure you select the correct phone model

            @dealsforlife: Brought thanks

          • @dealsforlife: Thanks mate. I never would have found this - why is it under Oppo R17 listing? Is it an identicla phone?

I've only searched under the direct 'oppo find x2 pro' and only found 2.

This mentioned hydrogel application, is it still 9H hardness tempered glass? jus tabit confused. I'll try and link the two i've found when i get home.

            • @SaberX: Was tempered for me, not hydrogel.

            • @SaberX: this things cause lens flare. i just removed mine, also, you really have to wipe your lens before taking photos.

    • Go to Settings - Shooting modes - Use gesture to take photo

Wow finally android 11 is available for telstra version ! downloading !!

    • +1

I saw news of another Oppo phone got android 11 update and out of curiosity checked the updated a what a nice surprise :)

    • +1

Came here to say this! So excited.

    • +1

Odd that it doesn't give you a notification prompt? Only when I manually checked it said the update was here.

    • Downloaded… Can't see much differences for now as I probably wasn't all over or used to phone before hand to notice. I do notice there's a personalisation screen under settings which someone correct me if I'm wrong wasn't there prev? Where you can change your side edge lighting, font size vs display size etc.

One thing I noticed is the app drawer looks a pretty plain ugly white background now when you swipe up. Anyone figured out if you can easily revert to the dark background the default phone came with?

Also does anyone else know where one can go to see summary changes with this android 11 over the default android 10 it came with?

      Would it update camera quality?

      • They name notification icons on the top bigger and also the navigation keys at the bottom look bigger.

Go to settings and look for dark mode. Mine is black now.

I really want to check the camera quality on OS 11 but there is not update from OPPOO on this.

      • Can you report back on battery life? mine seems to be dropping….

        • So far it seems 'ok'. sometimes faster, but i am not sure how much is what im using the phone for… other times it seems to be trudging along the same? I'm using accubattery and i haven't noticed any huge increases e.g. if screen off is 1.5-2%/hr while off it hasn't suddenly exceeded the average and is now 3%. that said I couldn't/wouldn't have paid enough attention if it increased from 1.5% avg to 1.8% which is still a 10% + increase in use….

But yeah definitely not 6 hr battery life suddenly 4 hrs now - so not SUPER noticeable…. i do find the battery not as long as i'd like, but when i first got the phone presumably i had no apps installed/in use, so it was like 0.8%/hr for screen off, really good! My accu battery is about 12-13%/hr battery drain with screen on.

          What are yours?

  • How is the battery drain after updating to Color OS 11?

    • The battery has lasted longer for me after the update. I'll update here if anything changes.

      • thanks for getting back :-)

Any improvements in camera dept? is it really worth updating to OS 11?

        • I feel like the night photos have improved slightly. Also, the battery drain isn't as much as it used to be. But that's just me. I'll leave you to do your own research and make the call.

  • Got the update to OS11 yesterday - Telstra variant

    • comment on battery drain please. my battery is draining more even in IDLE (over night)

      • My battery was great for a couple of days but then it started draining a lot. Chrome's usage is over 50%??!! I've turned off "discover" in the Google app. Hope that helps. I'll report in a few days.

        • wow. sure please do.

          • @[Deactivated]: Chrome Battery usage has drastically reduced! Good signs. Will report again if there's any further abnormalities. Still a great phone. Cheers.

  • Anyone experience auto brightness become quite dim after the android 11 update ? When you turn off and on auto brightness its normal but screen will dim itself afterward even though you didn't move at all. I don't think it happens with coloros 7, its kinda annoying i find it a bit too dim indoor, not sure if there is a fix ? Not sure if oppo purposely do it to save battery ?

    • It's been like that on Oppo and Oneplus phones.

    • idle battery drain is more noticeable on OS 11, unfortunetely.

  • Is anyone else not receiving the occasional text message on this phone? My missus loves the phone but has found out that she has missed at least 10 messages from people since she switched to this.

    She's on Kogan (vodafone).

    • no. mine is fine. i am on Telstra

    • Maybe Vodafone is the problem. Check the SMS settings. If not, just check notification/power saving settings

      • Don't believe so, she's been on the same network for 3 years and it only became an issue when I switched her to this phone.

Checked SMS settings already. I'll check power settings tomorrow. Thanks.

  • Finally tried the included USB C headphones out of curiosity and they are horrible…. I think mine is broken with one side giving a hissing noise, could be a spot along the cable that seems to be yanked.

    • yep they are very bad!

      • I've bought a USB C to headphone adapter so I've reused my old headphones. Sticks out more but positive is I can unhook headphones and walk about at work without wearing out the USB C port as much as taking in/out. One of my worries about double multi use of the USB C port.

  • Finally got my zuslab 9H tempered glass screen protector off eBay in the post a few days back. I do note they don't cut out the front selfie camera unlike the out of box protector. Abit bittersweet removing it but I noted fingernails and scratches embedded into it so figured I needed tempered glass asap. Used it all thru my s8+ days and it would crack but never had screen breakages. Not sure if it due to the protector or glass itself is good but for sub $10 why not. Anyone else add their own glass protectors - was your selfie camera cut out?

Big test will be 3rd party cases as I recall on my s8+ finding a strong one that didn't catch the curved edges a big problem. One problem with curved glass.

Made the cardinal mistake of trying to align the screen a few times. Got some dust under screen and bugged heck out of me. Removed and static filmed it… But found dust then got under the glass protector. After removing and installing a few times I gave up as we all know the more you try the more the dust gets in…. So now I've got the odd dust under screen but nothing major haha.

Corner is abit unsealed as I can hear it pushing down. Might be curved glass issue or perhaps my install and remove a few times weakened the glue… But overall it sit pretty well.

Worked well on my s8+ (also bought zuslab back then hence rebought this time) which was also curved. what brands are other using?

Will make sure I one time install next time haha.thankfully glass protectors have no air bubbles or the perfection would drive me crazy haha

Edit: would love any link shares for back camera glass protectors people have installed and found has no camera quality issues as a result?

    • i chucked back camera protection in bin. it affects camra quality

  • Unfortunately having used the zuslab protector for the last 24 hrs one thing I've found is the majority of touch sensitivity is good but unlike my s8+ I am noticing slightly heavier or forceful touches to get certain movements to register. Evident also in the fingerprint sensor is abit hit or miss registering now with touch. I find corners of screen more insensitive but overall it works if you touch the screen with enough finger force. Whereas out of box they pretty much register the faintest touch on screen. Perhaps it's the thickness of 9H glass so needs more forceful connection of finger….might forget about it after using it a few days but for now it's quite evident I suppose.

I do wish I kind of kept the built in screen protector now…. I can't imagine trying to put a non glass on one myself now and the pain of bubbles haha.

How have others found their screen protectors if they replaced the factory plastic?

    • My factory screen protector is starting to bubble on the side and edge but I have been pushing the bubbles out and keep using it..I ordered some film based protectors but haven't installed it yet. I have mixed feelings with glass protectors.
