    SD870 and Amoled for $150 more. Damn..

  • This or x3 Pro?

    • +2

      If you get the 6gb x3, stay with that

  • +2

    Time to cancel my x3 pro 8gb….

    • Same here

    • I ordered the x3 pro 8gb too. I was wondering is it worth cancelling it and buy this. Main concern is the screen. My son uses phone quite some time I am worried about his eyes. other than that, there is not much of difference.

      • +5

        My eyes went square from using a phone too much, gotta be careful

  • -1

    Apart from the screen I think this is a step down from Poco F2 Pro, which has better main camera and full screen display. The battery life on F2 Pro is also better, as SD870 is basically overclocked SD865 and consume more battery.

    It is cheaper though, a lot cheaper when compare launch price.

    • You're comparing the standard to a last gen pro variant. Previous pro variants have always been very close if not better in some aspects to the newer gen standard models.

      • +2

        The thing though is that the K20/30/40 the difference between pro and non pro was only the chip and camera. Build, screen and battery were all the same, however this generation seems to be a step down in term of battery life. Despite the near similar capacity, even when running at 60Hz from the X3, X3 Pro and F3 all have worse battery life than previous K30/K30 Pro or Redmi Note 9 Pro (similar screen size, SoC and battery capacity).

        For example RMN9P is almost the same as X3 but battery last 20% longer when both run at 60Hz.

    • what was the launch price for F2 Pro?

      • It was U$500? I think?

        • then how can it be cheaper than this?? Oh, you mean this one is cheaper.

          • @samehada: Yes I meant F3/K40 is cheaper than K30 Pro/F2 Pro, by quite a bit. But looks like they cut corners in term of optimisation though. Same chip, same screen size, yet F2 Pro is much better in term of battery life even if battery capacity is quite similar.

    • This has better camera and you cant just assume that it will have worse battery life because the processor is better

      • +1

        Wrong phone but here's the correct comparison
        https://www.gsmarena.com/battery-test.php3?idPhone=7454
        Poco F3
        114h
        23:40h 15:58h 19:02h

        Poco F2 Pro
        120h
        36:26h 16:45h 25:16h

        Better on all front, almost 1.5x times calling and a good 25% more on video playback. Poco F2 Pro also have bigger main camera (1/1.72" > 1/2"), better Ultrawide (13MP 1.12µm > 8MP).

        • Megapixels dont mean everything. Newer phones tend to come with more updated image processing that would produce better images

          As for battery life, it is understandable that it is slightly worse than f2 pro since it is brighter and runs at double the refresh rate.

          • +1

            @zjz93: And you think GSMarena doesn't standardised their battery test? Calling duration also has very little to do with the screen. Also it runs at 60Hz when playback video and is considerably dimmer (716 nits) than F2 Pro (860 nits). You once again assume things.

            And we don't have to speculate, they already posted F3 review and they look worse than F2 Pro in camera department.
            https://m.gsmarena.com/poco_f3-review-2248p5.php

            • @Bigboomboom: Looking at this test

              F3 kicked the X3 Pro's butt with a smaller battery

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6FOgJPRsOA

              The f2 pro has a bigger battery 4700 vs 4350?? and the AMOLED is only 500 nits?

              • @[Deactivated]: Not sure what you are on about…

                Poco F2 Pro max brightness is 850 nits and Poco F3 is 4500mAh battery, only 200mAh smaller than F2 Pro. Just read the review on GSMArena, don't assume.
                https://www.gsmarena.com/poco_f3-review-2248p3.php
                https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_poco_f2_pro-review-2116p3.ph…

                If you refer to manual 500 nits, the F3 is also 500 nits manual. Auto Boost the F3 only manages 700 nits while F2 Pro does 850 nits. The very much better video playback & call endurance tells me that either SD870 consumes lots more energy than SD865 or F3 is terribly unoptimised compared to F2 Pro. These tasks has nothing to do with 120Hz screen as they both default to 60Hz in these tasks, and they are not heavy computing tasks.

            • @Bigboomboom: Displaymate had the Poco F3 coming in with the same brightness as the F2 Pro on an all white screen. Reaches 1000 with 50% content.

              However whatever the issue is, the Poco F3 has a dimming issue, whether it is due to heat or a software bug, we don’t know yet.

  • Durable?

    • glass front/back with aluminium frame. Should be. Provided you don't drop it from great heights.

    • Depends on how buttery your fingers are.

  • Tempting!

    Thanks OP.

    My premiere day order still not shipped.

    • same here. they should focus on those thousands of orders first, rather than advertising even more sales.

      • +1

        I just cancelled my order other as I paid $549 with exchange rate. Since they are not yet shipped I will reorder at the cheaper price

        • same do you know how long it takes until the refund?

          • +1

            @ganggangbrother: i just had it refunded, so around 5 hours

            • @Aerith-Waifu: I refunded mine about a day ago and still no money back, what did you pay with i.e. mastercard, paypal, etc? Maybe that has some effect on it

  • +1

    $US299 last time was $AU445

  • I'm sticking with the X3 Pro - Seems like a better overall phone.

    Poco X3 Pro vs Poco F3
    https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10802&idPhone…

    F3 has:
    * 5G
    * Better processor
    * Lighter (19gms)
    * Bluetooth 5.1 (vs 5.0)

    X3 Pro has:
    * Bigger battery
    * microSD Card
    * IR Blaster
    * 3.5mm headphone jack
    * Gorilla Glass 6 (vs 5)
    * Dual-LED flash (vs single)

    • +1

      AMOLED VS LCD

      All Xiaomi have IR blaster

      • Not all Xiaomi have IR blaster. I have a Mix 2S in front of me with no IR.

    • +3

      LCD vs AMOLED is also important I reckon

    • battery life better on the F3 though in YouTube tests.

  • Touch sampling is 380hz on the F3

  • Poco X3 Pro listed with dust & water resistance though

  • poco f3 pro when

    • LOL methinks that will just be camera update

  • There are hardly any stock

    Btw. the Yanks have blacklisted Xiaomi have they?

    • Not as far as I've heard. Huwawei, yes.

  • Previous deal was ~A$500 (base model) because the discount code ran out. If they have stock this time, now it will cost ~A$440, well that's a bargain.

  • +1

    Hmm mine hasn't shipped yet from last Mon. Last time the code ran out in minutes, not sure if it's worth the risk of missing out to try and save ~$30.

    • +1

      Surprise that my friend ordered the x3 pro on Thursday and it’s already shipped.

      • +1

        Same here.
        X3 Pro (8GB/256GB) ordered Thu 1/4 with the extra discount code.
        Shipped 2021-04-02 17:31.
        Total cost: AU$ 373.05

  • Any concerns on Xiaomi data privacy breach? Do you think our private data safe?

    • +3

      facepalm

      Been using Xiaomi home security products and also their phones for five years without issues. And if you want to get technical, Samsung had a data breach last year as well. Happens all the time with companies.

      Just use your common sense and protect yourself on your device.

  • The x3 pro 6/128gb is $364.75 with GST and free delivery. Is it a good price?

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002395443472.html?spm=a2…

    • It would have been close to $280 few days ago.

      • -1

        False, you would never had the stock to buy it

        • +1

          I was able to secure 8/256gb for $356, so not sure how above is even a deal

  • +1

    I have recently bought the Poco x3 and now with the release of the x3 Pro and the F3, I don't know what to do.
    Is the better performance/specs worth the price and should I consider changing the x3 I have to the x3 pro or f3?

    • I don't think it is worth to upgrade it.

    • I've got the same phone and miss the amoled display my old samsung had.

  • Hello,
    How will the warranty work? Does it have manufacturer's warranty?

    • Don't think local warranty might need to post to oversea and wait it come back

  • Will this be fine on the optus network?

    • +1

      Yes it will, it’s international version so it’s unlocked

    • Yes but you will miss out on 5G n40 band with Optus.

      • Unless I miss something, I couldn't see 5G band 40 listed with Samsung S21 5G.

  • +2

    Promo code has run out lol

    • Same, says no longer valid

    • same, I've been waiting since it started and it didn't work for me too.

    • Nevermind - out again

      • BeeEss

  • +1

    No chance lol

  • +1

    Must be a fake sale. I got the code applied, but it wouldn't let me pay. Kept getting error. I think they are hoping you to pay the full price due to frustration.

    • Yeah I got the same thing, I was 5.01 ,🤣🤣

      • Yeah, I have been trying since 4:58 ..lol

      • I finally got it.. the code worked now

  • I wonder if its actually valid from 18:00 AEST - the image says "00:00:00 PST" - PST is UTC-8 so 00:00:00 PST would be 18:00 AEST.

    • +2

      The ticker shows the sale is active and the 72 hour sale clock has started to count down on the page.

      Plus with recent Daylight Saving, PST is now UTC-7.

  • +2

    code is working now guys!! $509.44 AUD for the 256 gb

  • +2

    Got black one, White one sold out. Mi Band 5 for extra $28USD is not too bad so you can choose that option as well.
    DO NOT use shopback for this, they only give 2% for Mobile phone, quite dodgy.
    REMEMBER to use CASHREWARDS for 5% cashback

  • Just ordered a white one 128Gb, still works

    • Lucky boy/girl, what price did they give you?

      • I chose payment in USD, for the phone + Nilkin case & glass. Final price was US$ 339.9.
        Checked my Citibank Plus card transaction got deducted AUD 447.37.
        Not sure if it was better than to pay in AUD using Ali conversion or with Paypal.

        • +1

          Depends on your bank if they charge for conversion: ANZ charges a little bit for conversion so we use AUD

          BUT man you got the lucky price

        • Do you know if the Nilkin case is any good?

          • +1

            @[Deactivated]: I got few Nilkin cases for other phones. They are good quality cases.
            But not for maximum protection though due to the slim/thin profile.

            • +1

              @Halftime: I think you may have saved $3.50 going with USD, actually

            • @Halftime: Was gonna buy the Nilkin case with the Camera slider protection, but i noticed i did what you did and ordered the glass and case

              Isnt the glass and case good enough for small drops?

  • I just got mine and it says Will be shipped within: 42 days 23 hours 55 minutes.
    Is that right?

    • yes same as my order

  • Last deal I got the white 8/256 for $520.10.
    AUD has gone up a little since then, probably explains the difference.
    Cashrewards didn't track.

    • My cashreward has tracked mine this time.

      • So was mine….
        Still pissed that Shopback only gave 2% on the first !!

        • +1

          the shitty part is that Shopback doing 6% on Clothes and crap to get a higher % showing than CR but when you look closely it is only 2% for mobile phones compares to CashRewards 5% on all categories.

          You can re-order and cancel the first order, you may need to use another Aliexpress account since you can only redeem the code once. Lesson learnt, need to check the details.

          • @samehada: Phone is already shipped so no can do heh
