Nice find Broden, I hope you left some stock for the rest of us :)

    • +5

Don't worry you can always buy stock from Broden with a modest mark up.

Forgive my ignorance but how many speakers is this 1 or 2

    • +3

They are always sold in pairs, unless they are subs.

I'd be looking for a sensitivity of higher than 90dB/1w if just powering them from the factory H/U.

    • +1

Exactly!! People don't realise that factory paper speakers are very easy to power, replacing them with these, without installing a separate amp, will mean the sound will be dull and quieter compared to what's replaced.

Might be different if the factory paper speakers are broken, but if they are not, sound quality may actually reduce, unless an amp is installed.

      • I installed some Hertz MPX165.3 in my Elanta, they have a 92dB/1W, and I would say they are about the same volume as the factory speakers. Much better SQ though.

  • Can anyone recommend a goodie cheapie head unit to pair with these?

    • Pretty much any H/U will work with these. Pick one at a price point you like, with all the features you want.

    Nice find. Thanks!

    • I read your previous question before your edit. Yes they will work as replacement of your factory speakers however you should check the size of the speakers/ mounts you have first.

And the stack height to avoid inteference with the panels. Stock speakers are very slim and usually mount almost flush. These, like most after market stick out a bit.

I have a few sets of these across various cars. They are okay, good value.

  • I wanna get this as the two in the back have died but man it's hard to install, gotta pull out the back seat and lots of trim. Looks like it might be expired now anyway. That was fast

    • Where are your speakers located??

      • Theyre behind the back seat above the cargo compartment. Its sandwiched between a metal frame and some plastic cover trim thing with the grills that require the backseat removed to access.

        • Oh damn sounds like quite the task! Was gonna say it’s not that hard to replace door speakers but I stand corrected haha

          • @BananaSplitz: It might be just my car. But they made it so well embedded in the car. Headlamps are the same and i have to remove the water reservoir to get to one of them but the floodlight s i can just reach in.
