@WhatWouldBiggieDo: It's just ozbargainers being entitled.

Sites like these attract people like them, don't worry about it..

They get given something for free, and complain about what they got, or that they can't choose what they get. Lol.

  • +9

OP, could you clarify whether the option to purchase these will be disabled once 300 purchases have been made within each time period?

If not, then I'm thinking there will be some people who will get stuck paying for a gift card they might not actually want.

    • +9

Once the 300 gift cards have been purchased, it will say “sold out” and then topped back up for the next drop

    • Indeed need to know this, can't have a crowd of but hurt ozbargainers.

  • dont feel like doing gambling on monday. pass

  • +2

Pass. Not keen to pay $5 for ubereats

    • +1

What if you were given $5 back?

      • Still a waste of time

  • +2

    Competitions belong in the forums.

Is there a T&C explaining how many of each gift card is available?

  • +4

    2hr 40mins until UberRage :-P grabs popcorn

  • +1

OP. Can you confirm if the voucher split is evenly divided between the brands?

  • +6

Freebie but some still complaining smh!

    • +2

Because it's not free if you can't buy an item for $5. Which is a particular problem with uber eats. Hence ubereats gift cards are being slaughtered in the comments but nothing else.

      • +2

Still a freebie you get the $5 back. You gotta be in it to win it.

        • Yeah I guess if you don't use it..

      • +1

But you still get your $5 back for the giftcard purchase right? It's either you can use the giftcard or not

  • -1

    "There will be 300…"

This is where I stop reading.

    • 1500 in total. 300 per round

    • +4

There's actually 1500 but glad you stopped reading. Hope you're not tasked with making important decisions.

      • -3

That was an important decision. :-D (My time is more valuable than logging on at a certain time, only to miss out because so few are available and someone wrote a script to beat others out anyway.) Easier and more reliable to cash in 50x empty stubbies from the neighbours recycling bin. ;-)

      Same, but hardly shop there.

  • I don't think you'll have any chance if paying with debit/credit card because it usually requires SMS verification

    • Not in my case. Dependent on your bank

    • +1

I got one using cashback balance but needed SMS verification too

    • I used my Cashback but still had to do an sms verification anyway. Got it though.

    • I had to put in a verification code and got one

    • +1

Paid with existing cashback balance - required SMS verification.

  • Couldn't even press on the banner… Does nothing

  • Argh! OP I used my cashback balance to pay instead of CC, am I still valid for the $5 cashback?

    • +1

I always use the balance to buy GCs and it works for promos

  • That was quick..

    • 300 gone in 1 minute!

There will be another drop at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm & 8pm if anyone wasn’t quick enough

      • -4

  • +1

    Got $5 eBay

  • +1

The deal literally sold out in 12 noon and 10 secs, impossible to get one.

    • 10 seconds too slow

    • +2

Didn;t help that the banner link in the app (from the home page) didn't work!

  • Got a $5 eBay

  • No one got an UberEats booby prize?

Mmmm…..I'm wondering if they are holding those back for subsequent drops. Pique interest in the first round, and then the fizzers thereafter?

    • +2

      Some people did.

    • I got Uber Eats in first round 😢

  • Is there a way to pre-load my CC details into the app?
I don't have enough shopback credit balance.

    • Yes, my details are saved. I did it so long ago I don't recall where .

    • +2

Yep, In the app click 'Account' in the bottom right.

Just under "Deal Purchase" and "Order History" it says "Add/Manage Payment Methods"

  • +1

i dont get it i clicked on the mystery card and it asked for sms code and wanted to charge $5. i hesitated to proceed incase they charge my card and was too slow now its sold out. is this correct and normal process for this promo?

    • +1

They will charge your card. The cost of entry is $5 upfront.

    • Yes, It will charge your card and then you get $5 pending cashback.

    • You still have to pay $5 and then you'll get $5 cashback in your shopback account

  • Realised I have $5 in my balance… time to use that at 2pm. Yeah I am going to hold off now lol

  • Amazon, thanks

  • -4

What an impressive promotion for a company making millions. $1500 for a gift card give away. Its a 3rd year anniversary, you should be giving out at least 20x that amount to your loyal customers.

    • +4

They are generating "millions" in revenue but there are running at a loss as profitability has yet to be achieved. If you want to look at financial to back this up you can search for Cash Rewards financial statements as they just IPO on the ASX. Cash Rewards just lost around $11m in overheads ($2.4m cashback to members) with a cash receipts inflow of $4.5m.
