Amazon US sold items only provides refund but not replacement.

Just a defective item with the HDD demagnetized / damaged during delivery. (i guess)
Simply couldnt function and producing regular beep sound.
They can put through a new order at your original price if you ask them. It is just their system does not have a streamlined "replacement" service for global store items.
The customer service associate kept repeating "Refund" is the only option…
And that time the price of a new one is around $300.
Maybe that's the reason he tried to dodge.
@CyrusL: Refund is indeed the only option for the existing order. However, if you explain to them you still want the item but the price has increased, they can help you to place a new order for the same item with one of the following ways to match the old price: 1. Change price directly 2. Refund after shipment 3. Promo credits. It depends on the knowledge and willingness to help of the particular associate which option they might provide. If a particularly stubborn one refused to help in any way, just disconnect and try again later. It is 100% doable from my own experience.

When did you buy your's? Do you think it's likely they still come with them in it?
I got mine halfway through last year. Considering the largest lower tier (regular barracuda) drive that Seagate make is 8TB, I would say the likelihood its a pro or better basically guaranteed. To get an idea just see what 10TB Seagate makes and it has to be one of them. I have heard reports of Ironwolf Pro's to be found in these exact enclosures as well.
I have bought one last month and came with an ironwolf pro.
My last one that I received about a week ago had a Barracuda Pro. The one I got two months previous had an ironwolf pro.
The Barracuda Pro case for the hard drive is all metal compared to the iron wolf pro which surprised me.
Got mine with Barracuda Pro from the last deal, the gambling bit is what drove me to pull the trigger. Well now in my Synology and so far so good.
What is the rpm of it? Is it good for raid10 Nas?

Yeah and you dont really need to be too careful as Seagate has made it clear in their RMA docs that the case condition does not affect your warranty coverage. Just keep it in a safe place will do.
I have RMAed shucked drives with no qn asked.
However do note they send you badly refurbed drives back. I have received 2 defective refurb drives before they finally agreed to send me a retail drive.

Is this any good if I were to use it for backups of my photography and videography work? Still unsure and new to the whole backup drive world…
Bought in last deal, bloody fast compared to my years of WD Internal Green drives. A bit of a moot point I know as it is used as a media storage drive but speed comes in handy when transferring 50-100GB once a while from SSD download drive to storage Hard Disk. A bit more noisier but you can reduce this by using soft rubber on the sides and bottom if shucking and mounting into the PC case. Did a quick test using Seagate software before shucking, all good. IronWolf Pro.

I've bought two separately from USA, both were dropped into our concrete step by the courier. They come with absolutely no padding, just the box it comes in. Even though the heads are parked, I think they should ship with appropriate padding, and the lazy courier shouldn't be dropping obviously delicate packages.

Snapped one up, thanks OP. Ozbargain is my go-to for high capacity HDD's - this is my fifth (2 * 12tb; 2*14tb). This will be a fast drive but not helium which means fairly hot, but they're built for heat, up to 60C is tolerable for Seagate drives. Going to shuck it anyhow and there are plenty of fans in my rig.

Only just logged in to buy a watch and saw your question. Helium drives (HGST, now owned by WD) are in WD externals from 12TB up. Got 4 myself, all bought through Ozbargain - 2 12, 214. Slower RPM and yes, helium does lower the temp considerably. These puppies are mainly archival but see a little bit of action now and then and temps are the lowest in my rig, which presently has 12 internals and one external (I shucked all of the helium drives).
These drives are absolutely wonderful. SMART has an attribute at #22 called "Helium Containment Status" and so far, the status is perfect after one year with the older 12TB drives. I can't speak for Seagate, my largest is a 10TB which is atmospheric not helium. But Seagate from 10TB up are excellent shuckable drives with Exos or Barracuda, PMR, inside. No shingled. So, I bought another 10TB a few days ago from Ozbargain as well, even though atmospheric.

Yes because Seagate don't make 10TB with SMR tech. The only 10TB drives Seagate makes are in the IronWolf, IronWolf Pro, Barracuda Pro and Skyhawk AI varieties.
