The big catch here is that it's up to 50%.

Some might find it useful for buying a large number and booking domestic/trans tasman business class right now but otherwise, this isn't wise.

When purchasing the highest amount $3999 you get 225,000 points (~1.77c per point).

The lowest amount only nets 100 bonus points meaning $56 = 1100 points (~5c per point).

Sure would suck if people bought them and then they devalued them before global travel reopened again.

  • Yeah nah

  • Thank you all for the great analysis on the "true" effective per point cost. I think a down vote is warranted to alert other fellow Ozbargainers

    • except it's actually useful if you're close to having enough points for an upgrade or free flight, but need to pay for say, 3000 more points. Suddenly that difference is 50% cheaper. It's meant for topping up, not just buying points in bulk. Also it's instant points, whereas many other earning channels can take several weeks to appear.
