    I unlinked my old card and linked a new one. The small transaction with 4-digit code went through, but when I tried to pay for the GC itself TrueRewards said that my card was declined. I double-checked the CVV and tried again a few times… same issue.

    So I unlinked the card and tried to re-link my old card, but TrueRewards said, "Too many total linked card attempts. Please contact us."

    Now I can't buy any GCs.

      Apparently you can't neg for real issues. I guess some people can't handle negative information.

        Because technically it's not an issue with CashRewards, it's an issue with True Rewards who sell the cards. No harm done, at worst it's a bit of inconvenience to miss this deal so not worthy of a neg.

        TrueRewards truly sucks with their verification system - why can't they just use CVV like everyone else?

        • I don't agree with that. The truerewards site is integrated with cashrewards site, it's not a separate login.
          If e.g. Dan Murphy site wouldn't work with my login, I can create a new account on DM site.
          In this case that is not possible because you technically don't have a truerewards account, because it's integrated with cashrewards site.

    • I can't even see the 4-digit code since the transaction is pending, they should have done the other way, i.e authorised a random small amount instead.

        That's a pretty cool feature, first time I've learnt of it. My -tive's been removed too :D.

  • For those with the card linking issue "Too many total linked card attempts. Please contact us." - or other issues: I contacted truerewards support (via the the "contact us" form when the error appeared on CR).
    My account was reset and it's working again.

    So very easy to get it resolved (with minimal effort).

    • Not the same experience for me. They told me I had the max 5 cards already linked but that can't be true because I cannot see a single one or use any.

      I would try calling but the offer expired anyway.

      • I only see the option of linking 1 card.
        Might be worthwhile calling them, so you don't have to miss out the next promotion?

        I also missed out, but then again I saved from wanting to spend $50 on ebay.
