  why buy Bit-Defender when Microsoft-Defender is for FREE?

  Ain't they similar since no antivirus software offer 100% guarantee protection? and most of them don't pick up their phone when you call them?

    "total security" type products are a little bit different, but really defender is just brilliant. It doesn't nag you unless it finds something. It's exceptionally good at finding stuff, and Hotmail/Gmail will filter junk out of emails (stop using pop3/IMAP people please!) and onedrive has plenty of space to back up critical documents if anything goes wrong.

    Paid AVs are just difficult to recommend these days.

  Bitdefender FREE is and excellent Virus protector and all you need
  Same engine as the paid version!
  Avast FREE and AVG FREE are even better.
  Hence this is a total waste of money

  This antivirus software deleted my entire email pst file without notification.

    Programs like this do not randomly "delete" things in general, they quarantine things away so they cant be accessed.

      You're right but for 90% users, that file was being deleted from their point of view. Not many know how to retrieve back.
