This compost bin really has been hugely popular. It's highly portable and the lightweight design makes it a great gift idea for mum this mother’s day.

“For the first time ever I have a neat solution to making compost. My bin has heated up and is turning my scraps, manure and clippings into compost faster than any piles I have made before. It is a neat tidy unit that sits nicely in my back garden and the beauty of it is, it will be easy to move.” - Katrina

“This compost bin is great. Well made and expandable as your requirements change and flexible in placement. Another bonus is if not in use, you can roll it up and store it away without the bulk of conventional compost bins.” - Kevin

"The Geobins are easier to set up than tying your shoe laces. Unroll from the delivery state and I let them lay flat in the sun for a day with a weight on either end to prevent re-rolling. Then just select your preferred size insert the supplied tabs and place in your intended location - start filling. They stand un-supported hold a lot of material and look neat. Very happy." - Anthony

Mum will thank you, and so will mother nature.

Enjoy

To be fair sea monkeys have a good carbon-nitrogen ratio for composting.

I'm a big composter, but usually get the council to chip in the for the bins.

Same. I look for cheap/free on Gumtree, etc. This would be handy to hold dead leaves (my compost browns) I procure in winter for the rest of the year, but I just use cardboard boxes in the shed.

Prey tell? I'm sure not locally available but I'm keen to hear more

      • Just visit your local council site and search for composting. I'm in NSW and nearly all councils here have an offering.

        eg:
Baulkham Hills council: https://www.thehills.nsw.gov.au/Services/For-Residents/Waste… 50% off and free delivery (based on RRP)
Hornsby Council: https://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/property/waste/organic-waste/… 50% off composting bins
Inner West: https://compostrevolution.com.au/innerwest/ <- 50% off it seems.

Essentially your council will chip in if you are after a composting bin, worm farm etc. Some make you watch a video first (eg Hornsby council), some have commercialised it with compostrevolution supplier etc.

At least in NSW, every council I've lived under (Parramatta, Baulkham Hills, Hornsby, Inner West (Leichhardt as it was then) have offered cheap composting bins and worm farms.

Cheers, I went off and did some googling after posting this and found the the following for Brisbane:

          fhttps://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/clean-and-green/green-home-and-community/sustainable-gardening/compost-and-organic-waste-recycling/compost-rebate-program

          TL;DR: $70 rebate for a compost/worm farm.

@maxwellian: Yeah, I figure if I am paying my council rates anyway, might as well get the council to chip in.
