Just bought se 2020 and the 720p screen is just awful.
I had 2 phones in the past five years. First one LCD and the second one Oled. The transition wasn't that huge for me expect for black levels and colours. This phone has almost the same res, just a bit higher. If you are on a same boat as me, then I don't recommend this phone as it lacks sharpness. I don't mind colours or black levels.

I had an Xr for 2 years and the screen is fine. I now have an iPhone 12 and cannot notice a huge difference

      • Use it for a year and then try to go back to XR. Bet you can tell the difference now.

        • I moved across from flagship Samsung devices to an iPhone 11 just under a year ago. I am a relatively heavy phone user, except for the fact that I don't game. I have had absolutely no issues what so ever with the screen of the phone and have barely noticed a difference in everyday usage. In fact, I was just looking at my phone last night thinking that 12 months is probably the longest I have gone without the itch to upgrade.

Luckily I don’t hang my phone on the wall and use it as a home theatre or to view art. The screen will be fine for the vast majority of people.

In think the message is that you can get much better for the price.

Which better phone (running iOS) can you get for a better price?

          • @dstar012: Can't you get the iPhone SE 2020, with better performance, for below $600? And phones don't mean just Apple products. There really isn't a whole lot which differentiates the platform anymore, they're very evenly matched in terms of features, security and camera. Although I believe Android can be personalised more, some brands have superior cameras, and being able to sideload apps like YouTube Vanced is something I prefer. I also prefer the aesthetic of stock Android.

In terms of hardware, for example there's the Pixel 4a which has a similar clean and simple experience to iPhone, working out of the box without customisation needed. That was $479 last week, and has the latest Android version for 4 years from release.

Well you could say the same thing about cameras as well. It's like disliking progress because we all right now. Or not caring about what you pay for. At the end of the day it's more about the experience than function.

I’m trying to hold out until the 13 is released. Then the XR will be removed and the 11 will drop in price.

    • Any chance IP13 will get type-C or Touch ID?

      • +1

Think I read Touch ID under the screen is being rumoured. But not really following it. I want the 11 (at a lower price).

  • are any e sim compatible?
