  • what does this work out to be in $?

    • You often get pts bonuses for different things. Otherwise you'll be struggling to get anything near this value. Unless you have many services with them, even then it's a struggle.

      They also expire.

    • Telstra points are valued at $30 per 10,000 points.

      • so it would be a bit above $90

        • 2000 pts + $99 or 4000 pts + $93
          = $106

    • $99.

  • Is that work with ring doorbell?

  • Do they usually email you a receipt or order confirmation? I got nothing in the last 30 mins but my points were definitely deducted.

Yep usually get a confirmation from [email protected] (i did about 40 mins ago when i ordered one myself) i imagine if the points are out the order placed though.

    • +1

      yeah i got instant confirmation

Got stitched up. Put the order through this morning, said it failed to process, please try again. No problem, go to try again but nope, they’ve taken the points from my account. Even comes up in my history as if the order went through but definitely haven’t received confirmation.

Have spoken to 3 different people and no one can help, one even claimed they can see on their end that no points have been deducted from my account…. Second time this has happened, I give up lol.

    • Did they end up fixing your order?

Mine failed also. "We can't process your order. Unable to redeem points.."

But my 32000 points are gone :(
No email confirmation. But shows in my points history.

Chat person said they'd look into it and gave me a reference number.

      • Yeah that's the exact error I got. But yes, got it fixed in the end, managed to get hold of someone who was able to see it and refund the points straight away. Tried the order again and had no issues, and the Nest Hub turned up the next day. Hope you get it sorted!

        • Telstra refunded the 32000 points back to my account and said to order it again.

Aaand… the same thing happened again.
          An error saying it failed.
          Points vanished again.
It shows in my plus rewards history like it worked.
          No email confirmation or tracking.

Now they're just telling me to wait a few days. Dammit lol I hope I don't miss out. -_-

  • Returned my Amazon show 5 for the nest hub gen 1. It's better in almost every way than the Amazon echo (except sound, echo has better speaker) but with this I can stream almost anything straight to the hub from my phone via the cast function.

  • I need 280 points to get to 2000 and then I am happy to pay $99 to get the new hub, but the offer ends before my next billing cycle. I just paid $28, not attached to any bill, to see if that will work.

Don't know if it deserves a separate post, but you can go for Telstra TV @ $216 for 24 months ($9 / month) + $45 and you get the Telstra TV and the Nest Hub 2.

    • You can make payments in advance and you'll get the points in the next day or 2. I did that a few weeks ago to get to Gold status before my annual spend anniversary to get a free Telstra TV.

Mine arrived yesterday, and then for some reason another one turned up today. Here's hoping there's another one tomorrow. :-)

  • FYI this was $199 on launch but it's already dropped to $149 at Google store and JB. Still a deal but not as much of a deal, lol.

I noticed my browser ad-blocker was causing the transaction to fail to process. Turning it off for the transaction allowed it to process successfully.
