This is a good offer, however as someone who has used this product, there are more affordable options out there. The featured active ingredient is Bifida Ferment Lysate which is a probiotic that strengthens the skin barrier and repairs damage. This ingredient is also found in high concentration in multiple Korean beauty products, e.g. Manyo Bifida Biome Complex, Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule, Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule etc. I've only tried the EL advanced night repair and Manyo Bifida Biome Complex, and I think I prefer the texture of the Manyo which is more hydrating.

    • +15

Manyo Bifida Biome Complex is currently $36.52 for 50ml at Yesstyle or US$36.66 (~$48) for 80ml at Olive Young, just as a comparison.

      • These two products work just as well?

        • +1

If you mean the product in this deal compared to the Manyo product, in my personal opinion both products sooth redness and even out skin tone, reduce sensitivity and are hydrating, but I find the Manyo product a little more hydrating.

          • @moocher: Hi @moocher, do you have any cleanser recommendations? Need to add a bit more to get free shipping from Olive young.

            • +1

@maybeamacy: Sorry @maybeamacy for the late reply, in case you haven't put in your order yet. you could try the COSRX Low pH Good Morning cleanser is a nice gentle foaming cleanser. It doesn't have to be used morning only, but if you are wearing stubborn sunscreen/make-up it's recommended that you use a first cleanser (cleansing oil/balm/micellar water) before using it.

      • +1

        Thanks, will try this out

      • +1

Sorry, just realised the link to Yesstyle was broken, it's fixed now. You can see the English description of the product on that listing, as well as reviews.

      • +1

Awesome, thanks @moocher for the suggestion! Was going to purchase this, but bought the manyo bifida for wife instead. Arrived from Korea yesterday!

        • Did you get it from Olive Young or Yesstyle? How long did shipping take?

          • +1

@lordra: Must have been from Olive Young as it was shipped from Korea. Yesstyle ships from Hong Kong.

            Olive Young ships via DHL.

    • Do you have recommendations for other products like vitamin C, acids, etc?

      • +3

I've tried a large range of The Ordinary + Hylamide Vit C and acids, it really depends on what you're after (brightening? anti-oxidants? Surface exfoliation or dealing with congested pores?) and also how tolerant your skin is.

    • +4

Thanks moocher for doing all the research on our behalf haha

  • I agree it’s a great price; but it’s definitely not my favourite.

  • -1

Are they any good? Why people care so much about just the face anyways?

    • +7

So you don’t care about your face?

    • lol it's your feature selling point.

    • That's where it all starts and finishes (on).

      Whoops!

  • Any recommendations for male products? my wife uses this and swears by it… wouldn't mind getting a male version to keep up with her nice skin…

    • Not in that price but I use, The bodyshop - drops of youth serum as a base layer after morning/night showers. Few different things go on after.

      • Root of Strength serum from The Body Shop is another one that's good.

    • Have you tried Kiehl’s?

    • +18

There's no reason why men can't use the same skincare products as long as the product suits your skin type.

    • Theres no "male" or "female" version…

    • Ozbargain version is any non pore blocking moisturiser for nighttime and face sunscreen for daytime. Make sure to clean your skin with gentle facewash and toner too. Avoid alcohol and topical alcohol

    • Just use the same one?

    • +1

probably a legit deal. Beauty products are grossly expensive…

  • +2

the AMEX $20 cashback ended 2 days ago :(

  • +1

This product is so freakin' expensive.. can't understand why there aren't much cheaper alternatives that are as popular globally.

    • +1

See cheaper alternatives in above comment

    • +1

Well Estée Lauder is a massive company that would have a lot of resources for marketing… There are plenty of cheap alternatives (which may perform even better since I haven't really heard of any amazing results from this product) if you take the time to have a look.

    • Hear also does some good and cheap products. Keep an eye out for their next sale

      • Which relevant product are you referring to? Do you mind sharing a link for reference?

  • +2

Wish I started looking after my skin sooner..

    any deals on botox?

or maybe less drastic, The Ordinary acid peel??

    • +1

If skin ageing is your main concern - talk to a dermatologist about tretinoin, it's the gold standard for anti-aging and has decades of research - will work better than any of these over the counter products you will find.

      • +1

I've always wondered how you'd get a referral to a dermatologist in the first place. Not sure what the GP would say if you just rock up to and say "I'd like to prevent wrinkles, refer me to a dermatologist"?

        • +1

A GP may be able to prescribe it themselves if you express your concerns to them - if not I'm sure they would refer you to a derm who would then instantly prescribe it.

          • +1

@jvanna: My gp said she'd have to refer me to a derm if I wanted tretinion again.
I tried it once ages ago bc I may have gotten the wrong strength and didn't work up to daily use. It dried me like crazy

            • @honeydew: That's the main concern with any synthetic stuff as they have so many chemicals. not just one. I would rather much prefer natural stuff if there exists any.. I have read that dried orange peel/ skin powder works wonders on skin.

              • +3

@virhlpool: what? You realise that oranges are full of chemicals right? Just like everything else? Please don’t put citrus on your skin, you’ll (profanity) it up.

                • @jvanna: My argument was for natural vs synthetic.

                  • @virhlpool: my point was that “synthetic” ingredients are derived from things found in nature - ie an orange

              • @virhlpool: Orange oil is a big no-on! I used the Frank Body Original Body Scrub, not realising it contained orange oil and that totally screwed up my skin. My body, especially my arms and thighs broke out in hives and that lasted for about 6 weeks.

              • @virhlpool: Everything around us is technically a chemical, and natural ingredients often contain even more chemicals based on their composition. There are many things in nature that are toxic too. It's too simplistic to say that 'natural is better'. I'd highly recommend this video 'Are Natural Beauty Products Better?'.

            • @honeydew: Yeah, you definitely need to work up from low strength - I started on 0.025%

Thanks OP, this reminded me to get something for my wife's upcoming birthday. A few Estee Lauder products among others.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks ordered express post + gift wrap option for Mothers Day as Mum loves this stuff!

    A total of 8 items is a nice gift package (50ml + 3x15ml + bonus 15ml + 7ml + 2 x samples) and the 12% cashback via cash rewards doesn't hurt!

  • +1

    got 2x100ml for $140 yesterday

    • +1

      Where from??

      • Did some online searching - The Cosmetics Company Store currently has additional 30% off gift sets with offer ending 12th May.

    • would love to know from where as well?

    • I went to the store today and they told me they sold them all out “weeks ago” to people who camped outside DFO before the store even opened

  • grandma come look theres a special cream for you

  • Thanks OP. Bought!

  • Thanks OP got one.

Shopback pending $47.70 cash back on a $159 purchase. Not sure how even with the 15% upsize.

Maybe they counted the free gifts into the equation? Not that I’m complaining lol.

Edit: used Amex, so might be the extra $20.

    • My mum got $45.32 pending cashback also.
      No Amex
I guess we are not the only ones.

      • I only got pending $23.85 cashback on $159 purchase… how are you guys getting so much lol

        • Registered for the membership and gave me the extra products with the code, and for new members got another tester kit included. I’m thinking the free stuff was counted towards the cash back somehow.

          • @Metre: I registered for membership too and also got the free gifts but their value was $0 in the cart.

  • Thank for this OP.
Signed up for the Eletist membership but can't see the extra 7ml offer anywhere.
Also Cashrewards upped itself from 12% to 14% at the Estee Lauder site this morning.
So i'll stick with Cashrewards for this one.
