As much as I was impressed with the xiaomi stuff, the viomi Robo vacuum I got has been under whelming. I haven’t even tried the mop function on it yet, but the vacuuming itself is very poor. I always have to rely on my 4 year old xiaomi roborock over the viomi one. If this viomi is anything like mine, I will think twice before buying.

    • What's your issue with it? I haven't had any problems

      • It doesn’t clean as good as the old one, leaves a lot of stuff behind on the floor, I am using it on tiles, haven’t tried carpet yet. But the performance is no good.

    • Hey Dealking, sorry to hear about your bad experience with our Viomi Robot Vacuum. If you wanted to reach out to our support team, we can help you out to the best of our ability. We'll see if we can find a fault that could be fixed or whether the problem meets the requirements for a replacement.

      • Thanks Rep! Will contact support.

      • why is there no way to call or live chat.

Have emailed about 6 times and no reply to my order.

They have confused parcel lockers (size limit) with parcel collect (no size limit). and are refusing to deliver my order

Not many reviews online, maybe as it's fairly new? Anyways, there's a few good comparision / unboxing vids on YouTube and it looked good enough for me to pull the trigger. Liked that it's got a replaceable battery if it starts to lose power over time.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sdTYkSDSxU

    • Yeah not many reviews.
From what I can tell, you have to plug the charger in separately.. rather than just docking it in the holder/wall mount..
I'm too used to that feature on my old Dyson.. so deal-breaker and will hold out for the dreame

      • +1

Yep, just have to plug in the cable into the battery - either in the vac or removed. No prongs on the mount.

However seems no dramas, I don't have a powerpoint near the mount anyways. Plus ideal not to keep the battery at 100% all the time anyways.

As for the unit itself, very happy. Sturdy, well constructed and good power.

  • Thanks OP. Pulled the trigger since my Vax Blade sh*t the bed - Good timing this.

Worth a shot, bought, thanks op.

  • Does anyone have a zip pay referral code they want to share, I need to make an account :D

I have over 10 Xiaomi devices at home. The oldest on being 7 years old. Not one of them have died. I had 3 devices by Dyson- hand held vacuum, hair dryer and the Airwrap. The vacuum died about 5years, the hair dryer after 2 years, luckily Airwrap is only 5 months old.
Just saying- cheaper isn't always inferior.

      • Yes true, I’ve owned about 5 Dyson devices, all but 1 have needed a warranty repair and have many great xiaomi devices. My experience with Dyson has been terribly unreliable equipment.

Having said that n=1 is a low level of evidence and there could be an identical me or you who had same experience in reverse. Really need a larger cohort to get an idea of reliability.

Also I bought a MI A2 which was a great price. Sadly it lasted a whole 13 months and was terrible, kept crashing every few months and required a reset. What I thought was a saving turned out to be $200 brick.

Bought Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in Dec 2018. The phone still works fine without any issues.

    • +1

Dyson is good but Xiaomi has a higher value given the money spent. Period.

  • -4

the problem with electrical products are short life, you have to buy it every two years wasting time money and pollute the earth. you can't get it sustainable.

    • +2

Yes, the same to your loving Dyson, baby.

It says that it picks up wet water, does it also pick up dry water?

    • +1

      Yes it does

  • Hi everyone, this has been selling like crazy, so we’ve allocated more stock to the deal. Now back in stock!

    • Hi OP, may we know the warranty period for this please?

      • Hey Mando7, sure, it's 12 months.

        • Thanks for the info, OP.

What is the turn around time for bank transfer payment order? Cheers

          • +1

@mando7: lol did you time travel from 1997?

            • @striker5950: Haha. As my name suggests, I am from far far away with no digital currency. LOL.

No, my intent to select that option to pay using my credit card to get extended warranty. But, the bank said transfer is not applicable for extended warranty, it has be a transaction :-/

          • +1

@mando7: No worries. Usually same day, but sometimes later depending on what bank you're with

    Xiaomi are a good brand.
    Quality and price are good.
As opposed to some where you say quality for the price is good.

  • Anyone know how this compares with the Xiaomi 1C handheld cordless vacuum?

I bought that one for the same price (199) on a mobileciti ozb deal.

Thinking might sell it and buy this one if its better

    • Hey Ionza, See the difference below:
      A9 has better suction - 23,000pa vs 20,000pa
      A9 has better Power output - 400W vs 350W
      A9 has smaller dust section - 400ml vs 500ml
A9 has one button push vs 1C is a trigger to turn on
      Everything else is relatively similar.

  • Hi OP, can the filter be replaced? Can't find the fillter being sold anywhere.

    • Hey, Yes we will be selling the filter, its not listed yet but should be ETA about June/July.

  • +1

Hi OP, will there be a flexible hose extension attachment? Useful for cars etc

    • Hey Vert93, at this stage, no there won't be sorry. But I would say that a combination of the mite brush for carpets and seats etc would work well and the skinny long end would get the cracks and harder to get places. The size of the a9 with those attachments is definitely small enough though to get in and around in a car though.

      • Nah flexible flexible hose is super super convenient for more than just the car. That's what makes the V10 very appealing tbh.

  • OZB Group Pty Ltd T/A XiaoMI Store

I recall I having seen similar name previously.

    Edit: PCBYTE.

Is the seller officially endorsed Xiaomi an Australian branch store?

  • +3

    Have to say this…
Viomi is so 'smart'… You can NOT find A9 on any Chinese website, such as JD, PDD or Taobao. This is like an overseas version, which implies the accessories (if broken) would be hard to find (thus, expensive) on AliExpress or other websites. Have to buy this from certain resellers…
Well, V10 is a common version sold both in China and the international market.

    • This is good information, thanks.

OP, can you please comment on this?

  • Stock is already in Australia? So I guess shipping time is quick on this?

    • +2

Yep, the stock is ready, 2-3 days for processing (due to demand) then they will be shipped out of our Sydney warehouse

  • +3

Anyone near queen vic market Melbourne and want to share mine. Just bought.

    • +1

      that's nice.

      • Haha well was kinda.hoping to go.halves with someone lol

Since I imagine only use it every 2 weeks

  • I have an old Dyson V6 that's still going strong (battery changed a couple of years ago). Do I need this?

    • +2

no, just use more space and now you'd have cordless 2 vacs ….. if you want another vac find one that does something the dyson doesn't e.g get a corded vac for weekend full house cleans and no charging and large dust collection ….

      • I don't have a large place so have managed to get it cleaned with the V6. In fact, I got it as a replacement for a cordless vac back in the day. But yes, the space is definitely a factor.

    • Where did you buy the battery replacement from? Mine is dying after about 6 years.

      • +1

From Dyson, from what I remember. I think but was around $80.

  • What you think is better for advanced aged senior citizen (my mum) this or Miele Compact C1 young style.

This is good for the weight 1.5kg but I have a feeling my parents will complain about charging/ runtime.. then they will probably not wash the filter and wonder why its not sucking so much. For the Miele they will probably complain about cost of bags and its probably around 5kg for the unit to drag around, bending over to turn it on/off could be an issue as well. hmm.

  • +3

My Dyson V6 is dying. Is it better to change the battery or buy this one instead? Helpful opinion would be appreciated. Thank you

  • Is this better than the xiaomi dreame v9?

  • +4

bought. will post how it is

  • Bit the bullet on this, thanks ;)

  • Hi op wondering if you provide proper GST tax invoice? Buying this for the office. Thanks

    • Awesome to hear! Have you thought of getting a robot vacuum for the office as well? A close relative of mine after finding out about our products bought the V2 Pro and loves it! He can schedule the cleans automatically and doesn't even have to think about it really just empties the bin in the mornings, although there's the self-emptying version out now.
      Anyways,
For GST, yep we provide full invoices - Emailed out after your purchase.

      • I only received order confirmation email but no GST tax invoice. Are you going to send us tax invoice in another email?

        • Same, only received confirmation but no tax invoice

  • +1

Has anyone gotten theirs yet and can comment on suction/quality?

    • +1

Yep. Seems great. See comment at bottom.

  • Thanks OP, ordered one

  • Bought. Good timing, my old Dyson DC31 just died. Lets hope this is better.

Does this comes with extra Replaceable Battery?

    • No. Just one battery included.

Also available from PC Byte for the same price, but free shipping. https://www.pcbyte.com.au/store/product/xiaomi-viomi-a9-hand…
I believe PC Byte and Xiaomi Australia are actually the same company.

    • +1

Yes they are. The ABN is registered under OZB Group.

    • Now showing as $219

  • Price jacked up $20 now $219.90, just like used cars price trend now …

    • Amazing, it's now back to $199.95 again!

    Pretty disappointed

Ordered it over a week ago and they dont reply to any emails

No phone number or live chat and saying they delivery although their website says yes (I am even using parcel collect not parcel locker so no size limit).

"Does Xiaomi Australia deliver to P.O boxes / parcel lockers?
Xiaomi Australia is able to deliver to P.O boxes / parcel lockers for all orders, except scooters."

    • I ordered and got it delivered to a Parcel Collect at the post office. Arrived in good condtion

      • Yeah they saying they weren't sure if auspost would accept it so didn't try lol

Have shipped it now so will receive just 12 days late

  • +2

Mine was delivered in 2 days.
Its OK. And by OK I mean wife decided to keep it instead of getting a Dyson at 20% off.
We had a V11 to compare it to. Dyson obv better but not 800 better.

Have received my A9. Very happy so far, it appears well built and has good power. Ran it over our carpets which had just been cleaned with our old vacuum - a corded, albeit caravan type vac. The A9 picked up almost a full container of dirt and lint on the low setting - was pretty impressed! I also like the motorised head which worked well on the tiles as well as the carpet. Another interesting thing to note, was it sucked up a loose blanket and knew to cut off - rather than overwork the motor.

As one guy mentioned above, the mount doesn't have any prongs for charging when cradled - so you do have to plug the charging cable into the back end. You can also take the battery out by pushing the eject button and charge the battery elsewhere, which works for me as I don't have a powerpoint in the cabinet it's stored in.

    • How would it work for pet fur?

      • +2

That was actually the reason for the upgrade. Old vac was doing fine, but we are fostering a wirey parson russell terrier and he malts a reasonable amount on a daily basis.

This picks it up no problems off the tiles, short carpet, car mats and couch (so far). Only thing I'm not sure about is from longer, shaggy carpets or different types of dog hair.

After using it for an another week, I'm really enjoying it. Use it daily. Also the one thing that might have been annoying is no problem. When the vac is cradled, it's super easy to pop out the battery from the top and charge. You don't need to take the vac off the cradle and play around to fit the battery in.

  • ..my xiao mi vacuum cleaner just arrived at 9pm.

  • Post says expired, but link still works.

  • Received my A9 today

  • End of June Delivery?

Just got this. Overall the vacuum is pretty good, even on the lowest setting. Pretty happy for the price.

It will be interesting to see how much the battery and filters will be when they are available separately later in the year.
