  • What a woeful website. Help page crashes in IE9, can't find shipping costs anywhere….

    • Found the reason Help page not working. This site tries repeatedly to access info from your computer and as such will set off your intrusion detection software if you use it.

      • Hi Rifter, sorry for the negative experience, I've passed this information onto our IT team to get fixed. Shipping cost is capped at $15

        • except for non capped items darn it :( nevermind

      • Hi, IT couldn't replicate the issue, I'll keep trying to find out what's going on unless you can provide more info. Anyway thanks for the feedback!

        • Not harc to replicate - my browser locked up with 'the are security certificate problems' messages and I had to restart my android tablet. First time for everything… no addons nothing else running no other pages current chrome browser, and I have no security software to interfere with roguewebsites… bottom line no way to access the site for me.

        • @krzystoff, have replicated on my Android tablet, have sent to IT. Sorry about that!

Edit: It didn't crash for me though, are you using Skyfire or other?

    • +2

      Everything crashes in Internet Explorer

  • How long does an order usually take to process?, is it possible to pick it up the next day in Sydney?

    • Absolutely yes, pick up is available as soon as you've placed your order

      • Awesome, thanks rep!

  • shame you cannot pick up your items at H.N retail stores.

    • True. We'd love to do it but it's just not possible :S

  • Very dissapointing that the items I wanted (x3)were not available for pick-up from Springvale - postage kind of defeats the purpose.

  • Not really worth the $15 for shipping with hardly anything to purchase…

    • thats what I thought! hence I tried to add more things from other areas on the site and ended up with a shipping fee of $170 for 2 extra items. I think i'll get my Pull ups locally then :)

LOL @ their BS * Capped Delivery saved you $450.50

All their other big-buys attract hefty delivery fees. Another major GH fail. It's ok if you pickup the stuff.

12 tins of Tuna, normal delivery $120. :)

Spewing! Was about to stock up on brown rice, but there's a limit of 3 so the $15.00 shipping kills the bargain.
    Shame.

  • Um… nearly out of date stock - Brown Rice Expiry: 24th March 2012 etc

    • I know. So probably is a good thing that they cap it at x3 per purchase. Anyway, bought some brown rice with tuna for a local pickup. Nice.

      • Man you must eat some rice if you can knock over 3kgs in under 3 months.

        • +2

HUH? The standard "serving size" for rice is between 100 and 125g per person, and that is pretty small. A family of 4 would probably use 500g of rice per meal.

6 meals in 3 months is not really a lot :-)

        • I have some indo friends that would make light work of 3kgs in under a week!

    • that's why they are so cheap. I knew Gerry wouldn't sell things under cost.

  • Not a massive saving if you add delivery, but still pretty good and comparable price to buying all these items on special at the supermarket. And I dont have to leave the house (its not worth it for me to drive to Auburn)

Rice expiry is fine and will keep for years. Freeze the bags for a couple of weeks to kill off any bugs or larvea and then store bags in air tight containers once fully defrosted in the sun.

As for eating a lot of rice, 3kg is nothing in a family of 7.

IMHO $15 postage and low limits on products kills this deal - by the time you factor these in the average user will be lucky to do better than regular specials on these products at Woolies/Coles.

  • I don't like supermarkets, so this is good. Shame the first item I picked (baby oil) had no pickup in melbourne, so I am getting it delivered. I went nuts! $94 inc delivery, and the powerballs pay for that. Yum, 20 toblerones will probably go in a week :D

    • Haha I love how your list goes from household staple items from the top to mostly snackfoods towards the bottom.

Selected a bunch of stuff, but the added postage still made it poorer value than just buying regular stuff at the supermarket. And then it told me I'd saved $130 in postage - who's going to pay $7.50 to get a kilo of flour sent to them?
