Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G 128GB $799 Delivered ($599 with Live Chat + Newsletter Voucher) @ Samsung

3920

As pointed out by budgetplanet (and probably other people)

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is currently $799 on Samsung Galaxy Store.
Coupled with $150 voucher (Actually the $200 loyalty coupon you get from Samsung Live Chat) and $50 voucher, it brings the price down to $599!
Trade in to bring price down more!

Note that this is the Snapdragon Version, so it is superior to base S21 AU Version in many ways! Bigger screen, battery, camera etc…
I immediately got one for my mum because $599? Sure why not. Hopefully she doesn't mind late Mother Day's present.

*Would have posted this earlier, but I was waiting for the $50 voucher to confirm if it does stack! It does!

  • How can I have the $150 voucher?

    • +3

It's the $200 voucher (talk to the Live Chat, ask for $200 loyalty coupon), but it becomes $150 when redeem on the S20 lines.

        • +62

No, use this Samsung voucher on the Apple store.

          • +4

@sp1rit99: Slight chance he might be asking if it can be used for other than phones. But….

          • +1

            @sp1rit99: I'm gonna try mine on a Pixel 5.

            • +2

@PorkHunt: Samsung don't sell the Pixel 5. But they do sell things other than phones. Which is what the question was…

        • sometimes i wonder if you are actually this stupid or you are just a troll

        • -1

Did you mean to sound stupid or you are one?

        • +1

I meant can it be used for other Samsung products

  • +11

Good price. Samsung support team, please get ready to be Ozbargained in the morning.

  • Thanks OP. Grab one

  • +10

Chat will warn you that the coupon doesnt stack with any other code. Feel free to ignore them and stack with $50 newsletter voucher, i did it today.

  • When asking the chat they advised that it's only available for damaged devices?

    • I said I'm looking to upgrade my s8 and they happily gave a code saying "I see. Since you have an S8 which is out of warranty already, yes, I can generate a code just for you." so maybe try your luck again..

      • Thanks! Did you need to provide them with the serial number at all? I don't have a Samsung phone so not sure if they will still provide me one if I keep trying…

    • +1

I have a Tab S3 from 2018 that crashes when playing some games. The rep was happy to immediately help with that.

  • Does the code only work on phones?

  • +4

For me the $50 code stacks but had to be applied first, then the $200 code applied after that. Stack was denied the other way around…

  • Is there any trade-in deals still going on like $500 on top of the price for the device? Or were those for s21 series only?

    • +1

Just the S21 series I believe.

  • Hey guys

Can someone send me the link for the live chat.
The link that I went to is not loading I might be doing something wrong..

    • +1

Seems to be offline. Must not be 24 hours.

      • Sorry I don't understand what you mean

        • +3

I mean it's probably too early in the morning for the chat to be working.
          I'm having the same issue.

      • This is the link that I'm using:

        https://livechat.support.samsung.com/Chat_Select/au

When I go to online shopping, for some reqson I can't advance through

        • Yes same issue for me.

        • +6

Earlier I got my code from this link https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/?source=dotcom
It's a bit of a process, but Select Mobile Device icon from the several types of devices, in the next step enter your current device. An old out of warranty device seems to be the way to go, and then ask the chat bot for the loyalty $200 code. The chatbot connected me to live chat. The live chat person asked for the damage or error the current device has, as well as the device model for the reason to issue a code. Hope this helps.

          • @3sky: Does it work woth s10+?

            • @Yodawg: When asking for a code? I'm not sure. Depends if the device is out of warranty. That seems to be requirement.

              • +1

@3sky: I told them my s10 plus screen broken and they gave me a voucher right away

            • @Yodawg: They don't check anything, as long as the phone you mention is out of warranty. I said the home button on my Galaxy S7 has stopped working and I'm looking to upgrade to S21.

  • +1

Just got my code. No issues. For me. Just be polite.

  • Now says coming soon, looks like it's been ozbargained

  • I can't decide. Both phones are $600 including the $400 trade in bonus for the S21.

Edit: Actually looked at the phones and am leaning towards the S20, what is going on with the back of the S21?

    • -2

If they're the same price, why wouldn't you go for the s21?

      • S20 has superior screen resolution which is essential for some ppl including me.

    • -1

S20 FE 5G for sure, snapdragon all the way.

      • +1

The exynos 2100 chip in the s21 series is superior to the older Snapdragon chip in the S20FE.

        • -1

On paper yeah. In reality nope. Heat issue and peformance drops after 15 minutish of high performance.

Exynos is simply poorly optimized. Samsung needs to get that fix before cramping it down our throat.

          Just my 2 cents.

          • +4

            @Xantar:

peformance drops after 15 minutish of high performance.

On paper…. To be clear, performance drops after 15 minutes of CONSTANT, MAXIMUM CPU load. In order to achieve this testers have to run full performance benchmark tests back to back a number of times. You find me any application, even the most resource hungry games, that would emulate anything even remotely close to that in real life. Not even a benchmark test can achieve unless it's run over and over.

As an example, I often play PUBG at full FPS and full graphics settings, and a single game easily goes for more than 30 minutes. I've never had heat issues, I've never had performance issues.

So you can read all the benchmark test info you like but none of them are reality. Don't talk about benchmarking like it's reality.

The other factor is that the S21 SD888 chips are experiencing overheating issues in some cases too.

I came from a S9 which had terrible heating and efficiency issues. The Exynos 2100 has solved this.

Also, if you want to talk benchmarking, the Exynos 2100 beats the SD865 hands down. https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/samsung-exynos-2100-vs…

            • -2

@wombat81: Okay. I guess YMMV. From what I have seen and heard about, Only S21 Ultra is worth upgrading to. That is my opinion.

I got FE for mum, as she needs the microSD due to the absurd amount of photos she is taking every week. Camera wise, S20 FE is fairly on par with S21 from reviews. Sometimes better due to S21 problem with oversaturation. Would have gotten her the Vivo X50 Pro Plus or Xiaomi Mi 11, but almost 1k vs $599. I just go for the 599.

Upgrade her again in 3 years time. Probably better deal then.

PS. She has Note 9 right now. Got it for 999 when it first launch. It got a crack screen now, so I probably need to get a good case for this new phone. Mum being mum after all :P

          • +1

@Xantar: Oh ffs, Exynos 2100 here and only time it got hot was during initlal setup. Since then never gets hot. 2100 craps all over 865 and outdoes 888 in certain things also. Time to stop regurgitating the same crap as last year.

      • +4

Ther is NO micro SD card in the S21 series.

I have the S21 Ultra and it shits me to tears.

That may be reason enough for some.

        • +2

Yeah definitely, if that's important to you. But for me, the chance of a dodgy digitizer outweighs that. I find 256gb of internal memory is stacks. Do you have a 512gb Ultra?

          • @wombat81: 128GB from work. If it was up to me I would have bought at least the 256GB, however it was the only thing on offer.

            • @b2dz: Yeah that sucks I guess. But if you know you're a big storage user, and you have the choice, you'd obviously go for a bigger storage model.

    • what is going on with the back of the S21?

What do you mean? The back is fine…

      • I think it's just the purple one, the others are okay. I was going to get pink if I got the S21 because of it.

  • Samsung chat in infuriating. keeps hanging and not letting me scroll to latest message.

    • Try disabling your adblocker if you have one.

      • thanks that improved things but it was still pretty painful with n/w errors. strange.

    • Same, I cannot send messages most of the time, and then I can send them they don't see it and they close the chat.

      • Took me a couple of hours across multiple networks and devices. finally when i switched off ad block on laptop i was just able to get across my point before it started disconnecting again. Got the code finally. Now need to try to get the $50 code.

        • Fkn happened to me. Couldn't send messages… Then kicked out of chat… Not meant to be.

How to get the newsletter $50 voucher?

  • Live chat not avaliable at the moment

  • Great work the live chat has been OzBargained

  • Can someone confirm if you can trade in old device for discount and also use the $150 code?

    • If you have a Cex store nearby they appear to give better money for old devices i.e. $210 for s9 64gb vs Samsung's $60

    • Yes, and also newsletter.

  • Thans OP got the voucher too, was fairly painless.

    • Waiting in queue since 7 am……

      • +1

bloody hell, I joined the queue @ 6:30 got to an agent about 15 mins later but the chat thing crashed, refreshed the page and got agent straight away.

        • Thx Fluffy. This worked for me too!!! Got agent straight away

        • Worked as well, just refreshed the page and got an agent straight away! Thanks!!! Got a code in 10 minutes

  • +4

I'll probably get down voted to hell, but anyhow. Please be aware that there have been long term touch screen issues with this device. It varies from phone to phone, but even after a number of software fixes, its still there for some users. Do some googling if you want more info. It's the reason why I went for an S21+ instead.

    Enjoy

    • For those that had the touch issue, do Samsung fix or replace under warranty?
      Thanks

      • Whirlpool might be a better place to ask.

  • Now we need a case recommendation.
Also since S20 fe is gorilla glass 3 I know it's more scratch resistant than gorilla glass 5 but also more fragile. Should I get a glass screen protector??

  • Its has been mentioned that the trade in cannot be stack with the $150/$200 discount?

    • +1

Just confirmed it will work, they did tell me it wouldn't when they gave it to me. Tried the S21 and S20 FE, stacked newsletter $50, $150/$200 voucher and trade in. Both worked fine. Now I just need to decide which one to buy.

      • How much did end up being?

        • +1

$439 for either including the $160 off for the device.
